@@BVM03 f23 gear box 5 speed manual, grinding going into second gear but if I’m going slow it doesn’t grind going in. Could this be linkage, oil, mount has moved?? Any ideas
@@connorjack3246 Ive broken 2 F23's with my old turbo 3800 Fiero. When they broke, it would pop out of gear or grind as if the clutch wasn't fully disengaged. One was a bent shift fork, the other was a bad syncro.
@@BVM03 ok I got 1.7 cdti. I’m guessing I could have a bad syncro. Is there anything else I can check before I change the synchro change
@@connorjack3246I assume you've verified HTOB throw and the clutch system is in working order?
Now you need to make the K20 to F23 and F40 adapter plate and mounts

Also how did you get that assembly off the transmission so easily? Mine will not release just comes out quite a bit and can be angled but won't fully come out.

Louis Baiani also, the trans has to be in neutral.
Louis Baiani: I hear you. Things are not so easy when the transmission is still in the car and you are working blind with very little room. Just keep wiggling and trying different angles.
This video helped me, thanks. I needed to do a shifter assembly repair, not a bushing upgrade. I was removing the shift assembly without removing the transmission from the car. The spring pin holding the weighted shift lever onto the shaft of the shift assembly simply rusted out and broke, resulting in no way to get out of neutral to shift between gear pairs. Getrag should really be using stainless steel spring pins because they are exposed to the elements. I replaced the broken spring pin but it was a real pain in the butt to get the shift assembly back onto the transmission with all gears working. I ran out of swear words and had to try many times. It looks so easy when the transaxle is out of the car! But seeing the few clues of how things are aligned in this video did help.

My transmission is stuck wont go in to any gear off and on clutch feels hard cables move the shifter on the transmission but still no gear ... any nothing will help
Sounds like a broken shift fork. Did you pop the cables off and see if you can physically put it into gear (at the trans)?

@@BVM03 We did an F23 swap in a Cobalt SS. Alot of play in the shifter. Are these bushings still available?

The bushings, yes. Bracket, It fits the f23 swap in fieros. Saturns??? No idea.
BVMotorSports k thank you , do you believe this has alot to do with the sticky shifting on this trans or the cables as well?
@@Adam-lv1uu it certainly cant hurt. We went this route with the bushings to eliminate the slop. Cables will never have the precision of internal shift mechanism but, you work with what ya got.
