Man I just allways loved westerns , hymeks are nice but western are awsome , had a look around western campaigner few year ago , she needs a lot of work And hope they get her and yours back on rail , as saw these as a 7 year old scare the shit out of me from noise and at the Time a scary look to them , I’m now 58 and love them , 😉👍💯
D7076 should hopefully make a return to service in 2023. The engine is back in and the team is now focused on commissioning the loco back into life. It really is hoped that the loco will debut for the 2023 ELR Summer Diesel Gala. An event not to be missed!
Nice job BHG 👍🏻 Great seeing theses GW engines in the north west 😀 I saw all the westerns in action except 1058 Western Nobleman. The Warships were nearly all with drawn along with the Hymeks when I was a train spotting in the 70s ☹️
Once D7076 ‘Hymek’ has been returned to operational status attention can turn to D1041 ‘Western Prince’. It really is hoped that D7076 will be back running for 2023 and the ELR Summer Diesel Gala. Definitely worth a visit to the East Lancashire Railway to see our warship D832 ‘Onslaught’, D9531 and hopefully D7076 for a running day.
Yes the second engine is in the loco along with all the associated equipment. The engine is ok but unfortunately the dynostart is not in great condition. Rather than risk destroying it we are going to remove it and have it overhauled. Hope this helps!
hi there, are you able to get all the parts from germany ? ie oil filters etc, is there an engine hours meter so you know when to change the oil next time ? has the air cleaner received attention ?

Have a 100th like! Subscribed. So much work done, you make all the painstaking work done sound a lot simpler than I'm sure it is!
Many thanks. Hopefully the loco will be running again soon

You talk of the Western ‘engine’ but there are two.
Is the second engine ok then?

A "painter" has been let loose with a tin of grey paint in the cabs......couldn't be bothered to mask anything up and got paint everywhere!
The cabs look great and ready for the return. Few marks but hardly noticeable.
