- Jennifer Prezioso dreamed of a life as an actress, but when her grandfather, who ran the last butcher shop on his Little Italy block, started slowing down, she took on a new role: apprentice butcher. Now she runs Albanese Meats & Poultry, which will soon mark its 100th year. Correspondent Mo Rocca talks with Prezioso about a New York City institution that's half-museum, half-butcher shop. #butcher #albanese #littleitaly

A piece of history. May it last for many more years.
BRAVA Jennifer Prezioso!
My family bought their meat at Moe's for two generations. Me, I still live in Little Italy, where I was born, and I'm so happy that she has kept this institution alive (even though I'm a vegetarian) lol
God bless her. She is a beautiful person inside and out her grandfather would be very proud of .
Please support these small family businesses- if you don't; all that will be left are massive big box stores
Very cool. She's carrying on the family business with love. Well done.
Wonderful too see her step up and continue the legacy~! I wish her all the best, and hope customers keep this store open!!
Beautiful story!!
How awesome is she!!!!!
That's so touching.
Lovely girl! So happy you have taken over. Hugs from Italy 😘!
What a beautiful story! Going to try for friends in NYC to visit and buy 2ibs steak, I'm buying. God Bless you Jen and may Moe forever Rest In Heavenly Peace 🙏 🕯 ❤️
Thank you for sharing this moving and inspiring story ❤️
P.S. That was love from England, Tilly Tea ❤️
Wow. What a great woman. What a beautiful family history and meaning for New York and America!
I love this and Jennifer Prezioso's dedicating to retaining the memories not only for her family but for all of the people who came there. #GodBless
What a gem...now that is a store! Much success!
My family owned Reese’s meat market, just outside of state college, pa. I just went out of business in the past couple years. Very sad
Wow!!!! Congrats on keeping the store there!!!! Bless your Grandfather and family.!!!!!! The good memories continue with the store!!! So nice!!!! Happy Thanksgiving Holiday week to now the Granddaughter who runs the family business!!!
Reminds me of the small butcher & fish shops we used to have in my neighborhood, here in Larchmont Village in Los Angeles. The little shops like that here are long gone now.
Wow ,that is love for tradition and a family affair ! Good luck pretty girl
Wow... !!! My best friend, Great... We liked and enjoyed to the end. Awesome... Full watched. Thanks Have a happy day!
There use to be this grocery shop in parkslope in 5th Brooklyn where I grew up that had great meat selections. They would cut it in house and the store was Polish so you had Polish products etc ….sadly it closed down and now condos replaced it.
beautiful story
Wonderful story
Jen supplied my meat for my Sunday Sauce recently. It's quality.
Her name fits her, she is a beautiful and talented woman.
When it comes to New York and New Jersey cuisine, it’s usually filled with all sorts of certain Italian meats and cheeses.
My dad has introduced many to my sister and I, and we usually like their Italian sandwiches and pastrami, or Reuben sandwiches.

A wonderful segment.
So sorry about Jennifer's grandpa, I am sure he is smiling down on her.
Great video! Some key points were highlighted that I hadn't heard anyone else discuss. Thank you!
How did the butcher introduce his wife?
Meat Patty.
I’ll see myself out. ✌🏼
Beautiful history!
Great story.
amazing what you can do when you own the building
She doesn't own it, unfortunately.
any relative of Sal Albanese.
Great public servant who would have made worthy mayor of this mismanaged city.
Museum/Butchershope.?
They don’t own the location? They lease? Ouch
several major paradigm shifts must happen for humanity to survive let alone thrive, and humanity living a vegan lifestyle is one of them
I'm vegetarian almost went vegan for awhile, I've been a beekeeper for 13 yrs now.
Society needs to make alot of changes and rearranges!
I’ve HAD Covid,
So did I, and others I’ve known, but lost my uncle and two others, drowning in one’s lungs is a horrid way to go.

If I can come up with 52 non-political themes, can we stay off the topic in 2023? Let’s go back to the origins of CBS Sunday morning and the enjoyment it brought that made it a success!
- and this segment is political, how?
Everything ok at home?
@@ebybeehoney I’ve relied 2 times, see if this takes. It isn’t, I loved this episode (mostly), I would prefer to keep off politics on a program that was made to make people happy!
There was zero political in this piece unless you’re.some braindead goon, go yell at some clouds on another feel good piece old man. I followed Moe and the shop long before he passed, stay in your ignorant lane.
@@colin-nekritz you certainly are a pleasant person! Not that I need to explain myself to a rude individual such as yourself, but I actually liked the piece and want CBS to do more like this and stay off politics. So enjoy your poor attitude and disrespectful behavior and Happy Holidays.
I thought my mission was complete, but I have to admit I'm as big a wist as the next man, and would have done what the DOJ head man did appointing a committee to make the decision on Trump. In my last missive I pointed out that he has plenty of domestic assassins in his crowd if he chooses to use them. He even has four countries that have professional squads to handle that type of action and could offer him aid. We have seen them operate. After all at least one is already a business associate in that little episode of his becoming a dealer in paperwork. Luckily if the bible holds up there is a statement in it that brings a solution. It looks like that is the only thing that can work for us.
Great story but come on, Mo Rocca - She's "manning" her grandfather's store? Et Tu, Brute?
