Goofy Goober 420 stop being a buzz-kill 💕 even if you don’t like a meme doesn’t mean everyone doesn’t.
Not only did he nail this performance, but did so with circular breathing. I’ve been playing for years and still can’t do it. Bravo!
That's what I'm saying... been taught over and over but still can't do it
This holds happy memories as my mom used to play this on piano.shes passed on, but that song lives on in my heart.
You are blessed ❤️
Hope you’re doing good and staying safe. Sending support and hearts. ❤❤❤❤❤
Sorry for your loss, but one way that makes me happy in dark times is playing my violin and saxophone. So you should sit down and learn because the piano is a peaceful instrument 😊
My mother also played this on the piano along with a jazzed up version called, The Bumble Boogie. I couldn't believe how fast she could play. She was a childhood prodigy and a virtuoso. She's been gone quite awhile now. I played saxophone as a kid but not like this kid. Amazing.

I’m just impressed by the articulation and his breathing! I am doing a clarinet solo right now that is supposed to go super fast while play sixteenth notes and I just can’t get the articulations down. This was so good!
👍👌👏 Oh WOW, simply fantastic! He plays so fast that we are even able to hear the saxophone's air flaps/vents clap. Thanks a lot for recording, uploading and sharing this unbeliiiiievably good solo.
Best regards luck and health to all involved people.

Nearly flawless circular breathing in 8th grade? It looks like he triples on alto, bari, and soprano. Put that together with his technical skills and that kid is going to be a monster one day.
Judging by your comment, I think it's safe to assume that you're not a very experienced musician or else you wouldn't have said circular breathing and tripling instruments is easy. I'm not claiming that I'm anything special either, but it's just ridiculous to make such a claim and is most likely a brag. In the very least, you're in no position to put yourself above this student.
To get a mature sound on the first saxophone you play, it will take years to develop. Usually well past eighth grade. This student already has a very mature tone at his age, and judging from his playing, I wouldn't doubt that he has a similar devotion to his other two instruments. Most band directors wouldn't have an eighth grader double or triple anyway, since it generally won't sound great and the band isn't great to begin with. Which goes to show that he is most likely very advanced on three instruments while even the best players at that age are usually decent on one.
Circular breathing is not an easy skill period. Yes, it comes easier to some, however to get a seamless circular breath (not bending pitch, stopping air flow, pinching mouthpiece) while playing sixteenth notes at that tempo is a very difficult thing to do, and I'd argue that most professionals would try to find ways around it since most people prefer to circular breath on sustained notes.
Chromaticism actually has nothing to do with the difficulty of the piece. On a trombone, say, sixteenth notes for something like Carnival of Venice are much more difficult than sixteenth notes for Flight, because chromatic notes are actually physically easier to play in succession for a trombone. But for a saxophone, the chromatic scale does not offer any shortcuts that make it easier to play than other things. So while yes, you are more likely to practice a chromatic scale than the sixteenth note runs in Incantation and Dance, the fact that they are chromatic in no way contributes to a lack of impressiveness because the physical dexterity it takes is mostly all the same.
And yes, I understand there are other very talented young musicians. I don't think they take away from the fact that this kid is very good at what he does and will probably continue on to be amazing.
whoever you were talking to deleted their comment out of pure embarrassment of their stupid comment that warranted such a logical response. lmao
Joe Finn BEST PERSON EVER OMG! Lmao made him delete his comment dude.
