- i rarely film on days like this when i work extra long hours during the week so that i can take a "day off" and just spend it with my plants. i'm super grateful to be able to do what i love for a career and work from home, but that also means no real weekends and only days off when you're able to. so when i have a planty day, i really try and be super present and offline to be able to enjoy it. it's my idea of self care! so in this video i casually take you along as i do some watering, plant maintenance, shelf styling, moving plants around, propagating and starting to prep for a 2 week vacation. unfortunately this video doesn't have a happy ending and i'm sorry for the abrupt way i had to close off the video, but life had different plans for me this day 💔

I’m sorry about the loss of your cat. Losing a pet really guts you. It’s so hard. The story of how you got your cat was really sweet. I’m so glad you found her. You needed her and she needed you.
I get it removing, all the plants from a shelf and watering them checking them out and putting them back is such a satisfying feeling. Jupiter, you got a tattoo with his name on your arm I knew there was a special story, he turned you into a cat lover never say “I’m not a cat person” only means, you haven’t met the right cat💚RIP
I’m sorry she’s gone. Her and my oldest cat I kissed last year are were practically twins 🥹 I feel for you especially with animals that have conditions. My oldest struggled from a small kitten so I get it. I kissed 3 in a three year span, 2 of which passed 2 weeks about and the 1st from cancer that I had to nurse her through until the end. They are special parts of our lives, even more so when they come into it so unexpectedly which has always been my luck.
I cried hearing you talk about Jupiter. I lost my first cat Loki a year and a half ago and it was one of the hardest experiences of my life. Thank you for sharing your story ❤ I'm hugging my fur babies extra extra tight today
Charmaine, I feel like I've learned 90% of what I know about plant care from you and Alice. I hope you don't mind me sharing a caution with you. I don't water things in prop boxes with mosquito dunk or bit tea because I've found that it molds easily. Also, I switched from dunks and bits to a product called gnatrol a few years ago and have found it to be slightly more effective and much easier to use. It just dissolves in water. I order it from an Ebay seller.
Thank you for all the work you do with making plant content. Your videos are a big, very enjoyable part of my routine.
I'm so sorry for your loss, losing a pet is always so hard, especially when you couldn't say goodbye, I had that experience in 2022 on Christmas, and as I was watching this I was working on a pet memorial tattoo for my sibling who lost their cat last month, sending love and kindness your way, try not to beat yourself up she knew you loved her and gave her the best life you and your mom could've ❤️

Aww Charmaine I’m so very sorry to hear the sad new about Jupiter. I've always been a cat Mam, I have 2 now and they are my world. I had a similar experience with my Dog, I had her from turning 21 and lost her just before she was 14 and it was the absolute worst, I felt like my heart had been ripped out, I’d never had such a bond with a dog before but she was my 1st child. My 2 cats came into my life 3yrs after losing her (I could’nt have another dog after her) and they pieced me back together and mended the huge hole she’d left behind. I couldnt be without cats, Ive had them since I was little, they are the funniest most fickle creatures and bring so much joy at the stroke of a hand. Big hugs to you and your Mam, Jupiter was a blessing to you and you to her 💗

I’m sorry Charmaine. Losing a pet is horrible. I had a cat that first helped my mom and then me (even though she demanded pets in the middle of my panic attacks), and she passed away two years ago. I think the only way of dealing with it is through gratitude, like the end of this video.

Also, so sorry about the loss of your plant. Also know how hard it is to go out of town and what an obligation it is to ask, someone else to commit to all of your plant obligations. I would LOVE to love to know your tips for success with the quad cissus. I’ve had mine for a while. And I bought several starters on Etsy and I’ve tried multiple types of soil and light and watering and I think this plant just hates me.

I'm also combating fungus gnats. They are outside in neighborhood landscape. I can't have indoor plants because of them. Just one multiplies so bad. Any suggestions help. Thank you

Mosquito bit water def works. I use with just about every watering and never have those yucky gnats. 😊Been using with success for 3 yrs now. Oh and I only let sit for 1/2 hr most times.
