    this is very unique my dad used to paint stain on to get the brush lines to enhance drab woods ,
    this is something I've probably seen but didn't know the technique , very good !

    I’ve been searching your videos on how to do the top/ edge of a curvy French provincial. I painted first and am ready to stain, but wasn’t sure how to tape that curvy edge....Mineral spirits 👍 yay!!!

    Help! I'm doing the blended stain look on my dining room table 72' long, same fusion oil stain in driftwood and white. I'm not having issue with walking the straight lines however it is streaked. I'm using the same foam brushes. Is the product to heavy and I am not blending enough? Streaked as in I can see the bottom coat darker through the white. Too heavy hand, too light hand? What am I doing wrong?

    • @donnacopeland4679
      @donnacopeland4679 Před 3 lety

      The streaking looks like I am using a brush instead of the foam.

    Your technique is beautiful! I enjoyed watching you and your flawless strokes from end to end. I want to try this and I think I will start on a small tv table just for practice. Would this work if the table is already painted with Fusion Little Lamb?

      Thank you very much! Yes you can use SFO over paint, people do it all the time. Good luck and have fun!

    Does this technique have to be done on raw wood or can it be on primer? or paint instead?

    • @BorninaBarnBoutique
      @BorninaBarnBoutique  Před 2 lety

      It’s best on raw wood as it show the grain, but it can be done over paint too. I have never done over primer

    Here’s my question...I have 6 barstools that I want to blend 3 stains over Little Lamb. There are so many planes to stain. Do you think I should attempt this? It’s my first Fusion project.
    Thank you so much! Love your super informative videos!

    • @BorninaBarnBoutique
      @BorninaBarnBoutique  Před 4 lety +2

      So that is a big first project, but unless you try you won't know right? I would suggest trying the technique out on a practice piece of wood or something to make sure you feel confident to do all six barstools! If I am not sure on something I always try it out first on a practice piece.

      Born in a Barn Boutique I did try it out on some ship lap pieces I had laying around, then, I just went for it. I did your technique of painting stripes and then I blended with the natural SFO over the top. It took forever and it may be more subtle than it could have been, but, it’s is a perfect match to my cabinet color and I am so very proud of them!
      Thank you so much for your informative tutorials and for your reply to my question!!! I needed a little push!

      @@lovingthelucaslife4224 That is awesome! I am so glad you gave it a go and it came out well! Sometimes that's all we need - to challenge ourselves a bit - more than likely we totally capable, we just have this fear of messing it up! I am so glad the tutorials were helpful! Thank you for watching!

    Your videos are great! I am attempting to refinish our kitchen table and chairs and am so excited to use this technique! Do you recommend blending everything including chairs and trestles or just the tabletop? I’m thinking everything, but didn’t know if I’m being too ambitious? :) Thanks For your feedback!!

    • @BorninaBarnBoutique
      @BorninaBarnBoutique  Před 4 lety +1

      Hi there! Thank you so much! I personally think that blending chairs may be quite challenging, chairs just a single color are a lot of work - thats why I don't really do them! :) I just had a follower do this, but mentioned it was quite challenging on the chairs. I also like the look of a solid base with this type of table top, it may be too much, too busy to do the entire piece. I have several of the painted base and blended top look on my website in the photo gallery if you want to go and take a peek to get an idea of how that looks.

      Born in a Barn Boutique thank you so much! Would you recommend using the same fusion stain brand on the chairs?

    Hi there, I recently used the driftwood stain on a bench and am hoping to add a bit of brown. Can I use the cappuccino over top? Will this cover all the grey? Thank you!

    • @BorninaBarnBoutique
      @BorninaBarnBoutique  Před 4 lety +1

      Hi! So you can but keep in mind it may not blend as well as when you blend all colors at the same time, but you definitely can, just have a rag on hand to wipe back if you go to heavy or cover too much.

  • @navadahocking2788
    @navadahocking2788 Před 4 lety

    Ps. Did your stain have a varnish mixed in? And when you were pulling the foam brush thru the stain, was it “grabby” or smooth to pull the brush, trying to discern how much stain to use?

    • @BorninaBarnBoutique
      @BorninaBarnBoutique  Před 4 lety

      Navada Hocking so the Fusion stain and finishing oil is a stain and top coat in one - no it goes on nice and smooth. You can put on as much or as little as you like - depending on the look you want - a sheer look where the wood grain shows through more or more opaque.

      So my link does still work - -wiseowlpaint.com/?aff=12&doing_wp_cron=1568496740.4460051059722900390625 - Awesome! Thank you! it appears my coupon code has expired! I have a cal into the company to see what is going on there - but you can still follow the link to buy your brushes - Amazon does not carry the full line if any of Cling On - you have to order through a Cling On distributor - so try my link to order yours! I just tried it and the link is still good!
