It’s pretty smart marketing. Nobody has the slightest clue what Emio even is, but we just can’t stop talking about Emio.
Only because it's Nintendo and they basically never do anything remotely mature
This reminds me of Apple. There is no substance just fans being extremely loud.
@@ॐIosounds like a majority of GayStation fans…
Just like Gabbo
@@vault1021 forspoken hype be like. But honestly PlayStation fans are smaller hype beasts than Nintendo fans, they do not consume everything Sony publishes unlike with the Nintendo fanbase where mediocre or not, it'll sell.
I’m not gonna lie. That trailer reminded me of the commercials from the 90’s and early 00’s. Dark and gritty all for a Mario game or Zelda or Sonic or even Kirby. It was really nostalgic.
The vitality sensor is already part of the joy-con, this could be the IR-Sensor's finest hour.
Emio is my uncle. He works at Nintendo.
OMG! Mine too! Small world…
Last time I checked, Emio is a playtester at Sega.
No scoped
Funny enough, there was a horror game about the uncle that works at Nintendo haha
🎩🧐👏
Nintendo is just killing it right now. Very good support with their existing series this late into the game with the Switch and all of a sudden they drop something entirely unique and diverse from their normal stuff.
The unkown is always more exciting than the known.
And more terrifying.
Especially with his appearance in the willy Wonka experience where he lives in the walls and made evil chocolate.
@@godlover9096horrifying!
@@godlover9096sugar walls😬
Like when prime 4 is coming
Yeah the content warnings or whatever they may call it paint a harsh freaking feature like this isn't Resident Evil Revelations where there's heroes shooting yucky monsters, whatever Emio is doing might be closer to Silent Hill 2 with very serious real issues taking center stage which honestly sounds incredible and I'm excited to see if they pull it off.
My favorite horror game ever is silent Hill 2. If they get Kojima for a silent Hill type game, I will die a happy man.
in silent hill you played as a hero who hit yucky monsters with a pipe so not much difference and you also someetimes used a gun to
@@jsmith3946 you weren't a hero at all, so that's a dumb comment.
Someone posted that it's very unusual to create a new IP this late into a platform's lifespan instead of saving it for the next.
Maybe the surprise is that its a switch 2 launch game.
I mean paper mario and Xenoblade came at the very end of the N64 and Wii respectfully.
Honestly, it makes sense to get weird at the end of a cycle but then again I might be thinking things like with the Dreamcast where hey you’re going out of business anyway might as well throw some weird ideas out there!
@@Planag7
It only “makes sense” if it’s crossgen
Historically, new IP only sells well during the first 1-2 years of a generation
@@Gavin-Leo--uk
It’s said switch at the beginning of the trailer… so it’s coming to switch
But I’d be shocked if it wasn’t crossgen at the point
Here's my guess:
It's an FMV game and a spiritual successor to Famicom Detective Club, and it'll be released in September or October. Those games sold pretty well after all, and it wouldn't be too expensive or take too long to make which fits perfectly for a late generation release.
FMV game is quite a possibility. As for it being a spiritual successor to famicon detective….i don’t see that being the case.
I’m personally not going to be all that hyped for a FMV game, I’d much rather prefer a traditional survival horror game. 🤷
You were so close!
@@dianavi1893 Yeah, I was fooled by the decision to use a real person. I've long expected them to do a sequel. The way they did a question brought to mind mystery advertisements for movies, and even the original trailer for the remakes. But, with a real person in the teaser I thought they had decided to go a different direction. And being a few days off on the month just is funny to me.
Imagine the tagline for using the vitality sensor for a horror game: "We made it for an exercise game. Now you can use it for an exorcise game" 🙂
Nice use of Exorcise there. :) Well the balance board wasn't allowed during the Wii U Indie Umbra horror game one of the last eshop games (US only). But Ring Fit Ring used in other games would be interesting.
With better IR on the front for a torch like Luigi's Mansion could have if it was on Wii. Not many horror games did the torch/flashlight well on Wii I think at least. Fatal Frame it was eh but Silent Hill I think did it fair.
But yeah the vitality sensor something like that needs to happen again would be great for many genres, otherwise only the N64 Tetris kind of did something like it I think as a third party peripheral of sorts.
I was fine with the heart rate mechanic then in the Gears like 3DS game. Ironfall Invasion.
Let's stay positive guys, I think this could be a year end game, Nintendo trying something different at the end of the cycle
I posted this in RGT85's video on Emio but I think it bears repeating:
You know, it would make things more unsettling if Nintendo just suddenly drops a demo for Emio on the eShop without any notice or even a visible page on the Coming Soon section. Just a page on the Games with Demos section for everyone could download the demo.
Alternatively, Nintendo could post an eerie notice on the News section of the Switch's Home menu and that's the only way you could get to the page to download the demo.
So like P.T?
@@stroyosh4670 I guess? Was P.T. released that way?
@@ozloner8777 im not sure, but i was a teaser for silent hills and got a lot of people talking about it
Rgt is a tool bag, no need to tell everyone about how many comments you make
MA15+ in Australia is distinct from M. Here in Au, M is recommended for over 15. MA15+ means no one under 15 can purchase, so it’s not an advisory but a restriction. MA15+ is the step just below R18+ which is adult only so this game is going to be pretty heavy.
It's probably a new Famicom Detective club game or something
You sure were right on the money
I'm thinking Nintendo is capitalizing on the hype of psychological horror games. Every now and then a game like that would come out on steam and every Japanese streamer is playing it. There's no way Nintendo doesn't notice that
Tbh Nintendo barely follows current day trends for their videogames or consoles so I don't think that's likely.... Otherwise they'd have cashed in on the hype much earlier during the five nights at freddie era
Nintendo doesn't really follow trends and doesn't really have to as every streamer will stream anything Nintendo puts out regardless
@@assenine619 They do at times take advantage of popularity of things, like shooters with Splatoon, battle royals with Tetris 99, Amiibos with toys to life. The only difference is that they aren't exactly competing with the popular things, they're just taking advantage that they're popular.
@@ericp631 I was kinda thinking in terms of if it's true a younger team is working on this project they might've gotten inspiration from these trends. But yeah normally you're right and Nintendo doesn't usually do this
really are we talking about the same Nintendo because the one I am thinking of has a history of sending out cod if you so much as say the name super mario why would they suddenly be ok with live streaming video games
4:36 I find this interesting on how some ratings vary on what age is mature.
8:35 The switch has a heartbeat monitor already in it
I’ve never seen it used ever lol
@@kennypowers1945 its used to measure your pulse in ring fit adventure, so imagine if in this game they implemented a system that took advantage of that, like, you need to hide from something, but its ears are very sensitive and can hear your heart beat. and the game would have you put a finger over it so you would have to actually try and calm yourself in the tense moment
Wii vitality sensor *flashbacks intensifies*
I wonder if Nintendo would put this in their directs, and how much they would show ifthey did. They've put mature games in their directs before, but they usually shy away from anything to extreme from said games. But if it's an original IP, they would likely have to go into what gives it its M rating.
I don't know if Nintendo ever showed a fitst-party M-Rated game on their Directs, it's always a third-party title, like Resident Evil or Shin Megami Tensei
I hope people don't go too high on this hype. After all it is nintendo and it could be something totally out of left field and be something totally different and not what people are thinking.
That’s called a surprise.
Could be the next Yoshi’s Cookies
Who cares honestly, let’s get hyped and enjoy the ride
It's a mahjong game
It's actually the Switch 2. Emio is the next console. You put the cartridge in his mouth and control him using his hands. If you die in the game, you die in real life.
Remember the IR sensor on the Joycon can measure your heart rate
man imagine if they implemented a system that took advantage of that, like, you need to hide from something, but its ears are very sensitive and can hear your heart beat. and the game would have you put a finger over it so you would have to actually try and calm yourself in the tense moment
It can, but it's not super conducive to gameplay. It's a weird grip, you'd have to hold the right joy-con upside down which makes it really hard to hit most of the buttons. Your right hand would be mostly limited to motion controls, you can kinda use your middle finger to move the control stick and get abxy with your pinky and ring finger, but it is incredibly awkward.
Alternatively, you could play the game with just the right joy-con instead of both and then have the IR sensor reading your left index finger or the palm of your hand, but I'm not sure how good of a reading you'd get there and that'd get real cramped real quick making sure you were pressing in enough to get a reading.
Also means the functionality would be even more awkward for Switch Lite users since they may not already have a pair of joy-con to sync up, so you'd have to decide between alienating a section of your market or making the heart monitor fully optional.
@@matthewhutchinson2500 While I agree with you that Nintendo doesn't want to alienate parts of the audience, Ring Fit does exist and to my knowledge there isn't a way to play that on the Lite without additional Joycons. It is possible they would do the same again for a horror game that most likely doesn't appeal to the entire Nintendo fanbase. If IR is utilized, I trust that Nintendo would use it in a creative way.
Wait.. madworld on the Wii wasn't published by Nintendo? I didnt know that.
Just looked it up , published by Sega but a Wii exclusive,
Platinum
Sega owns the rights to MadWorld if Platinum have enough money they can buy the rights then we can see a port for Switch or Switch 2.
Yeah, I was Sega. I remember at a convention I just recently went to John DiMaggio was talking about making fun of a few Sega guys who are really uptight initially about his voice work with it, but then let him basically say whatever he wanted!
Nintendo giving a master class in marketing RN
why by doing the same cliche thing that a bunch of generic horror movies have done
@@jsmith3946this isn’t movies tho. Horror games hardly exist and when they do they don’t do this. Closest thing to this type of thing is silent hill
No they aren't. Every other company already did this before. Silent hill teaser, RE teaser etc etc
and now i want this to be somekind of horror game that can be played with some sort of advanced Wii Fit(switch succesor) board 🤣 and sort of a NiNTENDO LABO paper bag for your head 😜 (EDiT:Typo !)
I've already seen a lot of fanart and we don't even know what it really is... Nintendo is cooking
Are you saying it has spawned a wave of questions?
You cheeky bastard 👍🏻👍🏻
The first time I saw the teaser, I thought it was Judgement 3. But I think Emio is the leader of the Nintendo Ninjas
Emio: Pyoro's Demise, a game where you get to be a leaker who must escape from nintendo's basement
Remember Sadness for the wii? The good old days...
As long as it isn't a visual novel or a walking simulator this is good news.
didn't Nintendo own Rare when Conker Bad Fur Day was made
They never owned Rare. Rare was contractually made into a second party studio during mainly the N64 era.
they owned 49% so partially yes
If RGT and S. Wave didn't make these vids I wouldn't even know game existed. I hope it lives up to the hype u guys trying to create for it.
I remember The Creator of Resident Evil want to make ab game for Nintendo
which one two people created that game
This game reminds me of *"Pep"* from the 80's Duck Tales cartoon.
If you know, then you know that you don't know you know. 😉
Don't fool yourself, this is a new Mario game, He is just wearing a new hat.
Eternal Darkness and Geist was developed outside of Nintendo but not only did Nintendo greenlight the creation of the game for their systems but was consistently visiting them with ideas on their games. Many of which was implemented into the final product. So you can argue that Eternal Darkness and Geist was indeed co-developed by Nintendo. Plus Nintendo does indeed own the rights to both Eternal Darkness and Geist
I wonder if something "odd" will happen at TGS?
I hope so or gameplay footage
Have people played the Fatal Frame or Famicom Detective games? They can be grim and have those themes indicated in the Australian trailer.
Nintendo is genius… grab the adults / older audience that’s into the horror genre, sell a bunch of switch units at the end of its lifecycle… then that sets the switch 2 up for a whole new market. Especially since Xbox is basically going the way of SEGA… this and the MVC collection will make switch EXTREMELY ATTRACTIVE. Even at the very end
It basically the last thing hackers/emulators see before disappearing 😂
That and nintendo ninja noises
I think it’s possible this is a modern installment in the famicom detective club series. That’s a first party series that isn’t a stranger to heavier themes around murder or creepy, more horror like moments.
The trailer reminds me of Spirit Hunter: Death Mark (1st), Spirit Hunter: NG (2nd), Spirit Hunter: Death Mark II (3rd). For those interested, it’s a horror visual game based on Japanese folklore set in modern-ish times. Mature for gruesome scenes & some nudity (except the first game). Love the story & the art style of emio looks similar, tho who knows what kind of game it could be.
This feels like a Grasshopper Manufacture/Suda51 game to me.
Everyone that suggested Famicom Detective Club was right on the money! 👍
Am I the only one that heard "This could be the first game we've seen from them, in the history of the entire company" at the start lol
Conspiracy theory, Emio will be the one who reveals the. Nintendo Switch 2 😅
I just hope it have GAMEPLAY and isn’t some text based game
the world may never know on what is going on at nintendo.
lol watch it be some random company making the game and it ends up like shit. And only Nintendo is publishing it and nothing more
M-rated... or EM(io)-rated? COINCIDENCE... I THINK NOT
Obviously this is not the case considering that being rated means it's definitely a game, and they would never use age restricted teasers for this purpose, but I was thinking about how cool it would be if they pulled a stunt like this to reveal the Switch successor, just releasing a bunch of cryptic stuff until it turns out "Emio" was the code name for the hardware.
I doubt any company would risk something so niche for a big reveal like that but it would be fun as hell and in an age of constant leaks would be completely unexpected.
Oh well, I still think whatever the game turns out to be this is pretty cool marketing from a company you don't expect this kind of thing from.
While probably not a Kojima collaboration, it wouldn't be the first time him and Nintendo teamed up. Remember MGS: Twin Snakes on the gamecube?
Besides Fire Emblem Warriors I’m not aware of any other Fire Emblem games not made by Intelligent Systems. Intelligent Systems is a fully owned Nintendo studio.
I remember when Eternal Darkness fooled people into thinking their save data was being deleted. Players would pull out their memory cards to try to prevent that and ended up corrupting them by doing so. Funny how things play out.
GABBO!
GABBO!
GABBO!
Thats what Emio reminds me of
Lmfao a Simpsons reference , a man of culture 👍🏻
This is basically Nintendo giving leakers a biiiiig middle finger
New jack the party game announcement 😂😂
a few yerars ago someone at monolithsoft did say they wanted to make a rated m game that pushed the boundaries of rated m
Some type of VR experience, tape your switch to the inside of a big paper bag and enjoy.
It would be cool if Nintendo had a horror themed attraction at their theme park.
My crazy theory for this game is that it'll be a release for the next console. Notice how nowhere does it say it's a Switch game (at least on the CZcams video)
I always thought it was weird that Nintendo never really started more mature games as most of their original customers(NES) are way past mature.
I am crazy interested about the gameplay here. Maybe a creepy 1st person thing? That would be kind of fun.
I was waiting for a new video in the other channel spawn wave plus and didn't know you have this channel 🙃
What if the vitality sensor is inside each controller for the new Switch? Could be cool. Though it could also be an almost unused feature like the IR emitter on the joycon.
Hopefully not another Stellar Blade. So much hype for it to fall on its face.
Its a shame the spiritual sucessor to Eternal Darkness never happened for WiiU.
It’s gotta be great being Kojima. People recognize that the way he does things is so peculiar (in a good way) that it has to be him when something strange is in the works.
The next Dragon Quest was stated to be for a mature audience. I think the older developers are taking note of the shift in gaming populations. Nintendo will typically only make a game if they feel they can significantly iterate on it. This is why there is no new F-zero most likely(aside from F-zero 99 ofcourse, a significant iteration on the game.) So I am excited to see what they come up with. You can be certain it will be fun, but the real question is for how long? The suicide content warning makes me think this will be a significant game as opposed to a simplistic gimmick, if I understand the warning right.
Teaming up with Kojima is a bad idea. That guy is more about overfunding his own ego for a mediocre game that pleases himself rather than put out a game that would be profitable for a company.
I though Madworld was published by Nintendo but it was Sega. Didn't realize there were that few published by Nintendo
I'm really intrigued for what style of game this will be. Could be a novel, action, puzzle who knows. Also think could be some monolith soft are involved with
The marketing strategy John proposes sounds great, but I feel unsure if Nintendo would tease something like this in midst of a bunch of all-ages type games.
Shawn Long is Emio and I have proof. Dude isn’t even sick that’s not why he didn’t post a video today. RGT 85 is up to something 🧐
Madworld was a surprising release for Wii, perhaps this in a similar vein
What would be sick is a new eternal darkness game, but I’m pretty excited to see what they’re planning regardless.
It's not Bloober Team because it's being published by Nintendo, Project M is being published by other studio (forgot it's name but it's in the same interview where they mention Project M)
Everyone always gets their hopes up for games and then make a video after launch why the game is shit.
8:27 It's not that farfetched of an idea considering the last time Nintendo used such a weird unexplained marketing campaing was a teaser for the "Ring-con" a few days before they unveiled Ring Fit Aventure. They don't have to release the Vitality Sensor though as the right joy-con's IR sensor can do the same already, as demonstrated by Ring Fit Adventure.
RGT gonna be mad asf when he sees this video title lmfaooo 😂
Look at the suit. This is clearly a lawyer. You play the role of some poor kid who found a store to break the release date of a Mario game which you then went home and dumped onto the internet.
Maybe a pokemon torcher dungeon murder mystery with the hero being detective Pikachu.
It's so funny that nowadays A LOT of talk envolving horror games bring up Kojima.
Why it's funny? Because he hasn't released A SINGLE horror game yet! 😂
Don't get me wrong: I LOVE PT! It's easily one of the very best interactive horror experiences ever. But the name is LITERALLY "Playable Trailer", not a game.
And, sure, he is due to release a horror game soon... But he hasn't even released yet.
And I hope no one dares to call Death Stranding a horror game. It might have horror elements, but it's horror is not the core of the game.
So, the funny thing is that Kojima is a very promissing horror game creator and we're still waiting for a legit debut. But people treat him like a icon of horror games. 😂
Again, don't get me wrong: he probably will be that too. He's already a gaming icon given his legacy.
What about Nintendo‘s first horror game releasing alongside the Nintendo switch 2 / PRO ??
In terms of a vitality sensor, you don't need something attached to your finger. Having something similar to a smartwatch that connects to the switch would be sufficient enough.
What if Emio was the first game for the Switch 2? Weird marketing.
just like Sadness was announced as one of the very first Wii games back in 2006
This is great news as we will finally get Xenoblade X with the silder ( for those older enough to know what I mean 😂) when it gets a port release.
Nintendo casts confusion, it is super effective!
I know what it is!!! It’s a great feeling to know the project. Ppl will know soon and word of mouth has started. So it will spread and be speculated for months until Nintendo confirms it later this year. 😊
The vitality sensor already exists in the right joycon. See Ring Fit Adventure
On the topic of auteur game directors, what if this is a Sudq51 project? We haven't heard from him in a bit and he does work with a Nintendo quite a lot. He did direct one of the Project Zero/Fatal Frame game before.
Emio Kart incoming!
Rewlly gives me Eternal Darkness feels.
6:21 The closest they have done is rated T with Twilight Princess.
I hope that "Switch 2" will be Nintendo's next Gamecube but a lot more successful and gets so much more games compared with Gamecube. Which unfortunately were massively gimped by its silly mini-DVD's which got a bit above 3x less storage than a regular DVD disc.
I don’t see the vitality sensor making a comeback, but imagine how cool it would be if the game could sync up to your smart watch and read your pulse off that. Nintendo would never go this far, but it’s something I could see a dev doing in the future
The right joycon already has a vitality sensor.
Imagine in a year from now looking back at this and saying "ah, yeah, that Emio thing...that sure was disappointing"
0:28 Emio will be the first Nintendo game ever
It’s going to end up being nothing to write home about. Mark my words
Everyone is saying "Emio this" and "Emio that" but no one is saying "worship this" and "Jericho that!"
“It’s-a me, Emio!!!”
