An Automatic level crossing with half-barriers located just outside Petersfield in the village of Sheet. To the day of filming, it's still one level crossing that has Mk.1 twin-arm concrete pillar barriers, although the number of crossings with these is starting to decrease quite quickly. This one doesn't have much longer left either as a result of an upcoming re-signalling project, and it is clearly visible that preparation works to change it to a full-barrier crossing are well underway. There are additional pedestrian gates on the exit-sides, which seem a little un-loved as a lot of people seemed to walk round them as this is quite a quiet road, and 2 E2S 'Apello' alarms on the same side of the road, alarms which are rather loud compared to a lot of this kind.
The trains featured in this video include some of the additional trains which use this line at peak time. It's a little more unusual to see the service increasing on a line at peak times to this extent nowadays (4 trains/hour off-peak to 7 trains/hour in the peak).

Noice level crosing the trains!!!! 😎😎
Thanks!
Excellent Videos! Really like these barriers! Going to really miss them because I can see that renewal isn’t too far away.
Same here. Thanks!
I'm hoping they preserve some Penguin barriers at a heritage railway and retrofit them with Staythorpe barrier skirts. I'd advise that they re-use the barriers from here and Kingsfernsden Lane on a light railway, and make a four-barrier crossing with these.
Excellent video and Crossing 👍
Thank you very much!
Great video and crossing!
Cheers!
Great video! Love them barriers!
Me too. Thanks!
Awesome nice video man
Thanks!
Nice one! What was that crossing in the distance on the first closure?
Thanks! It was the one on Kingsfernsden Lane.
Nice catch! Do you know what the level crossing you zoomed in on is called?
It’s Kings Fernsden.
That’s Kingsfernsden I think
It's on Kingsfernsden Lane, on the outskirts of Petersfield. I honestly don't know (or care) what NR's official name for it is, but I think it's "Kings Fernsden" or something.
@@greatbritainlevelcrossings8149 Yeah, that's Kingsfernsden Lane. That's getting upgraded as well.
Thanks, South Coast Trains. As people have correctly pointed out, it's Kings Fernsden crossing czcams.com/video/HgIXKUNGchY/video.html
