I actually really loved Iain Reids ”We Spread”, the theories, the complexity, the ability of Iain to make you experience the horror of having Dementia, the paranoia, the fear, the nostalgia, the confusion. A real masterpiece in my opinion. Some people might get frustrated about not knowing which is the truth and which is not. But I think it was the writers intention to create this uncertainty, to really make you experience the horrors of dementia yourself.
On the otherside I can understand why some people dont like it, I really think you can only like we spread if you understand all the layers and the perspective of the book, if you just take it all too litterally or if you want clear answers you will probably not like it. For me this book was better than Foe and possibly even better than I am thinking of ending things, because of the complexity and the possibilities and the philosophy and psychology aspects of the book are just amazing! I am sure you can reread this book and discover new insights every time!

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind is one of my top 5favorite movies ever- so I’m definitely going to read “Full Immersion”!

We Spread sounds so appealing to me. I enjoyed hearing your thoughts on these books!
It has some really important themes. While I didn't think the narrative completely came together, I would still encourage you to try if it calls to you
Ghost Eaters, 👻 almost a 3. We spread, just picked up last night. Full Immersion doesn't sound like a "me" book. I enjoy listening to your thoughts.

Great video again. I seems you're the best to ask but on the shelf behind you I see "Night Film" standing. Do you know more books (horror, thrillers) like that? The one's that combine pictures and articles to make it more real.
I've read a couple but honestly Night Film is pretty much the only one of those multimedia books that I liked

I'm currently reading Reid's Foe and...I'm not sure how I feel lol. But it is unique enough that I'll likely pick up We Spread. Also, very much looking forward to Full Immersion.

I am glad to get your thoughts on Ghost Eaters and Full Immersion. Ghost Eaters was one of my most anticipated books but it looks like I need to get it from the library because I have only seen one positive review 😂. That Ocker book is stunning! And looks interesting. In unrelated books, I know in the past you have mentioned that you enjoy reading Star Wars books. Have you read The Princess and the Scoundrel? If so, was it worth it? I also saw that Kiersten White just came out with a new book called Padawan about Obi-One Kenobi.
I did try Princess and the Scoundrel but I didn't finish it because it was too romance heavy for my tastes

Full Immersion sounds so good. I will definitely add this one to my TBR. The most disappointing book this year for me was The Book of Cold Cases. Oh, and how can I forget The House Across the Lake. What was that plot twist?! I am still going to check out Riley Sager's next book, but at least I will go in with low expectations.

Have you read Salvation Day by Kali Wallace? The setup is similar to SA Barnes Dead Silence. Abandoned spaceship, everyone dead except for 12-yr old. Fast forward a decade, and people are going back to the ship. It’s not sci-fi horror but it almost is especially one scene. Still, it is a stronger book than Dead Silence. First few chapters I wasn’t sure about but I kept reading and got pulled in.
P.S. Dwellers by Eliza Victoria is a short (114 pages) interesting read. I would like to see if developed into a full novel as the concept was interesting, and there is a lot of background that could easily be expanded upon. And Too Old to Die by John Walker is a quick easy read too. Sci-fi. I found myself skipping over most of the POV of people who weren't the main character (reading just a sentence or two per page to get the gist) and spending more time with the retired soldier. So far 3 to 3.5 stars at 60% of the way through. When you're in the mood to read but don't want to invest lots of time and energy.
P.P.S. The Too Old to Die book got really good, and is turning into a space opera with several different things intertwining with the main story, and several separate adventurers all ending up in one ship at the end of book 1 (ragtag motley crew on a ship trope maybe?? If so, it's being set up well enough not to be tiresome). There are five more books in the trilogy and I've just picked them all up from Amazon ("free" with Kindle Unlimited).

As a follow non believer, I loved his other creepy non fiction cursed objects by Ocker. It's much more about the folklore which I enjoy.
