She has a fine voice, but Lanza is in that highest rank of voices, which of course SHE is not. So "Yes," I totally agree with you. When Lanza enters, he takes a pleasant performance and elevates it to the rank of "fantastic."

@@mickey1849.. that is totally not true. Lanza could be very sloppy. Grayson could sing trills and runs and could sing 4 octaves. She could easily sing a high F above high C. On her tours she had to sing sempre libera 7 times a day! It would seem you are just concerned about SIZE of voice. That does not make you better...it makes you LOUDER. Lanza had a beautiful voice and rich tone. But like in the movie. It lacked fine polish. Compared to Pavarotti he falls short.

During 90s visited the museum of him in Philly. Although not many known where it was located so excited I got it. Now still like watching the re-run of “ student prince “, “ the great corosal “, “ for the first time “, et cetera.
My Mom took me to see this movie as a little kid, when Mario jumped on stage to sing with Kathryn, there were gasps of amazement from the audience which I will never forget ... what an amazing voice
My Mum died when I was 11 in 1956 but one thing I remember is she loved Mario Lanza. Watching this explains why. A brilliant voice and I believe he was on 38 when he died.
