Being born in Terre Haute, Indiana Bobby Knight will always be my favorite basketball coach. The last undefeated division 1 team that won the NCAA basketball championship was the 1976 Indiana Hoosiers coaches by Bobby Knight. I love being from Terre Haute, Indiana.
I think it would be great for college basketball if Indiana returned to glory, but Crean is not the guy and an average coach at best. When you take away his 2003 FF run with Dwyane Wade, his resume is not that impressive. I just dont see him being the guy to take Indiana back to the top

We've won absolutely nothing since we fired Bobby. He was basically the entire program. Miss that man even with all his demons. Glad we finally hired one of his former players with Woodson though.
Well they did win a Regional Title and went to the Final Four and National Championship Game in 2002. Sure it's not the ultimate prize but it's kind of close.
What people fail to remember is what Coach Knight got out of his players . Yes he was losing some of the best in-state kids, but he didn't need the. Best kids, he got the best out of his kids, and built teams
If they had actually done that they would have won multiple national championships. Say what you want about Dicky V but the guys would be an amazing recruiter and Bob Knight would still be an amazing coach.
@coltcub64 i pretty much hate indiana basketball (go illinois) but I have nothing but the utmost respect for both Bobby Knight and Tom Crean. Crean is a great hire he just had to take a lot of time to get through Kelvin Sampson's mess. Indiana will be back on top soon definitely

IU was in the national championship game in 2001. Sampson was charged with recruitment violations and Crean is responsible for rebuilding the program.
