- Finally i was able to complete this engine rebuild! Loved the process from start to finish!
Only a couple of bolts that needed to be drilled out and retapped!

This engine is the 2jz of the brazilian car culture. The engine block can take 8x the stock power with no serious modifications. It's reliable, powerful and ease to service. A great little engine. In brazil it is known as the "AP" engine, 1.6, 1.8 and 2.0.
Im guessing you are talking about the fuel injection version
@@mrchilli8901 nope, any version after the md270 engine, the ea827, the iron block is very resistent and tuner friendly.
Mithic "Alta performance" engine, in had a VW 1.8 pointer with the AP and made more than 500,000km i gave it yo my dad and nowadays its still working

@@GuilhermGs7 Qualquer um pode fazer o projeto que quiser em qualquer motor isso não significa que vai ficar bom ou que vai aquentar o motor AP e mais preparado por sua simplicidade resistência se fosse uma bosta não seria um dos motores mais preparados do Brasil vai em qualquer arrancada que você vai ver essa ''BOSTA'' de 1000cv 800, 700, 600, nos turbos e nos aspirados podendo chegar nos 300cv com nitro metano com álcool chega nos 200cv
The 1.6 and 1.8 in South Africa when boosted kill some serious street cars this engine makes big power and also in natural aspirated with a good cam and exhaust they sound amazing one of the best engines ever

Believe me, this engine in Brazil supports more than 1000 whp, 8 valve heads rotating up to 9000 rpm, great development over time, our glorious and good AP engine....

@@BobSmith-mc7uq 1000hp in ap engines in brazil is "normal" usin 65~87psi of turbo, and all internals forged, fueltech etc. the limit is 1200hp, the block crack´s in half, ap is the LS from brazil, any performance parts is avaiable, include billet block´s for more than 87psi of turbo uses.

Btw. You used the wrong bolts for the valfe cover, so if its starts leaking its probably because of that.

30:39 the best way to apply the silicone you have to put it from the in side to the outside❤
the camshaft cover goes with rubber seal not silicone. sometimes need to take it off and rubber seal is good for this.
Thread 2 nuts on when inserting the studs. They can then be loosened from each other after instal and can be easily removed without vice grips
Nice build dude,what sealer was you using on the sump pan and other areas,as i have a 1.8 engine off my mk2 golf that i'm going to rebuild,but need to get all the parts i need to get the job done first,cheers..

mesmo um trabalho impecável sempre há falhas.. chegou a montar invertido a saida de agua do cabeçote mas depois arrumou e ai depois montou a tampa de válvulas sem o defletor de óleo..

Wich type of mobil1 red Grease are you use? Can you told me the reference? Thanks and very good job men.
I used Mobil 'mobilith sch 220'. That was the closes thing to assembly lube they hade at my local autoshop/partshop. You can use engine oil if it's not going to stand still for a long time before starting it. There are many other good assembly lubes, like redline. :)

You can go fuel injection in South Africa we call it a mp9 system it works very well and maybe check out parts in South Africa we have a lot of performance part for this engine
Grew up with the EA 827 Engine, originally with 1,3 and 1,6 Liters, later also as Diesel // People from around the globe commenting here, nice! //

Love your videos where do you get your engine parts ? I am doing my 1.6 rabbit restoration and finding rebuild kits for the engine have been hard.
Thanks man! 😊 I bought all the seals, gaskets and and parts like water/oil pump on Autodoc. The bearings and such at a local shop in Norway (folkevogn.no)

you can find anything you need for this engine in BR, turbo kits, internals, seals... look for VW AP

Does anyone know the correct torque specifications for cam and crank shaft aswell as the order to tighten them up am busy with my own build and this would be very helpful please and thank you in advance 🙏🏾🙏🏾
What paint did you used to paint the block?
I used motip engine block paint, its holding up great!
Did you replace the rings ?
No i did not replace them, havn't had any issues with not changing them! But next time i do an engine rebuild i will! :)

@@Fredholm2 no didn't but so far it's still ok.. problems i had were distributor cap.. drain plug hole ..and carburettor.but long distances I've never had problems..I enjoye long distances so I make sure it's always ready

Bei dem DX-Motor darf die Nockenwelle erst montiert werden, wenn die 1. Zylinder auf OT steht und die Nockenwelle auch auf 1. Zyl. OT steht und so der Zylinderkopf verschraubt ist !!! ......habe auch diesen Motor überholt, hatte eine große Freude damit > Golf 1 GTI.

wy not upgrade to an electric fuel pump? are way more reliable. Aftermarket rubber top seal is better to not have leaks the rubber end seal also needs a bit of silicone. To be sure i would use an alignment tool.

@32.14 you put an O ring onto the base of your distributor.
When I removed mine it had a very thin paper gasket.

That's an easy way to burn up Valves by using assembly lube on them....should always use motor oil

Y don`t have Oil pressure without star ,only by electric motor?. Is a problem? There isnot oil in oil filter.

You should get oil preassure with the starter motor after a while. Not a lot but some oil should get into the oil filter. You could also get a cheap oil preassure gauge, just to be sure :) Good luck with your engine!

Я избавился от гидрокомпенсаторов и поставил толкатели от passat b2 с регулировочными шайбами мне кажется что мощность прибавилась👍
