    Oh dear....with water pressure that strong its always a good idea just to turn the mains tap on to.half pressure so it's not flowing so fast 😢

    Thats taking a good clean to a other level. Park the van on a incline and go under it and remove to drain plugs untill you have time to strip out

    You standing there like a broken man after walking back to the van is priceless. I feel your pain.
    As a vehicle detailer I love these kind of disasters jobs where you need deep sucking and cleaning of the interior.
    Big job to get that back to normal but certainly doable.

    now ya see why outside the UK, we don't use vans,
    if ya have a light truck or trailer, leaks and spills are far less of a problem.

    I feel your pain mate we had a similar van flood a few months ago, when ever you use Horti fittings the pressure will always be high, just half open the lever and check the output before attaching the hose.

    This is a great video, I love seeing these compared to a lot of others as you show the downsides and issues, instead of just the good parts. I had my van flood once, so felt your pain there

    Crazy flood in the van. Had similar in mine not long ago. Loads of water sitting under the carpets too. It even fried my airbag ECU.
    Great job tho 👌

    That’s why i have the back of my van tanked with a spray water proof liner, also my water feed in and out faces out of the van witch if a qr connection fails the water for the most part will flow out not in.

    you can definitely source bags of sand cheaper than £7, look for an independent supplier or somewhere like Huws gray

    I’m not in this line of work but I’m a plumber, if I were you I’d buy a Honeywell pressure reducing valve to fit inline on your inlet setup. Also your float valve in your tank would probably be better suited with an old style brass ‘part 2’ float valve. I just think it would be more robust and reliable. Fair play for keeping your calm, I’d of struggled to keep my cool with that!

    • @Binliner
      @Binliner Před 3 měsíci

      The hose fittings he’s using that are the problem. The hose should be clamped on a barb.

  • @dirtlushpressurewashingser114

    So if the water output was checked you could have closed off the tap to reduce rate and all would have been good.
    Maybe always have a digital attachment on so every time you set up you can see what flow rate issues are going to be dealt with.

    • @SMOUT_
      @SMOUT_  Před 6 měsíci

      Maybe. Although commercial cleaners use standpipes all the time which have a much higher average flow rate than you'd ever need for the output of the pressure washer and they don't seem to have issues.
      I think in this particular case I just need to double check that everythings tight before I start. Do you have any links to flow gauges you'd recommend? I don't know where to start with electrical gadgets like that 😂

  • @jetreadyuk

    Great job mate👌 put that down to experience and not a good one either!! Just a question why did you opt for bio-side not hypo? Because of the plants ?

    • @SMOUT_
      @SMOUT_  Před 6 měsíci +1

      I wasn't worried about an instant transformation on such a big job, I wanted to give the customer long lasting results so biocide is better in this case.
      I usually use hypo on most other jobs unless I the customer expressed interest in a longer term maintenance plan
