    That’s interesting about the extra pressure a buffer tank gives. Even if your machine can only keep up with the tap pressure from the property, it would help when other taps are open in the property from stealing your pressure.

    Did this years ago when our local council decided to charge our area for green wheelie bin waste so i kept the bin and used it like this for my pressure washer as i'm on first floor flat with no outside tap. Great video and idea for others who like me don't live on the ground floor with an outside tap. Stay safe.

    This is the best video ive found. Very descriptive. It would be good if you made 2 bins that you could link together if you had a lot of power washing to do. But fair play for the details and links

    A couple of wraps of P.T.F.T. tape on the lever valve would cure that little drip.

    Was thinking of doing some pressure washing for a summer job this year. Much better than gardening!. Seen the buffer tank online and it’s pretty expensive for what it is. I have a spare wheelie bin so it’s definitely worth making a buffer tank myself. This video will definitely help! Thanks

    I had to replace the valve in my toilet cistern last year, I bought a cheap one from an eBay seller , paid less than £5 inc. & it fills really fast, almost no restriction to speak of, the old valve would take a few minutes to fill the cistern, the new one fills in about 25 seconds.
    The eBay valve looked really cheap as well but works perfectly.
    Mine cistern is a bottom fill type but you could still use that type of valve by having a lower fill point with a pipe elbow (90°] fitting inside your tank.

    Nice info, this is what I wanted to know when I started my pressure washing business last year. Having the parts and links listed is a nice touch. One thing I have learnt is to go for a 3/4 (19mm) hose rather than the standard 1/2 hose. Especially moving water from the tap to the bin over longer distances. It's less of a bottleneck for water supply, especially if using a 21lpm machine. All the best Paul

    I typed in “3/4” filter” onto Google but very new to jet washes so no clue which one I should get. If you have the time would appreciate if you could drop in the comment here a link to one that I could buy with this set up. Thanks mate!

      Get yourself aa 'Arctic Hayes U-Flow Water Gauge - Water Flow Measure' usually about £20.00 and check your own flow rate to see what you have at home, and decide from there.
      TBH if you can afford a machine with a higher LPM (liters per minute) then buy it. There are videos on CZcams comparing flow rates and you'll soon see that the higher the flow rate the faster you'll clean. Most of the videos are american and talk about gallons per minute, for a quick conversion 1 gallon = 4.5 liters

      No worries. If the customers water supply doesn't have enough flow to keep up with the demand of your machine, you'd start filling this as soon as you arrive on site and it will give you 120L of water to burn through before you have to stop. Meaning you aren't starving your pump of water.
      You can use whatever size tank you like to suit your vehicle.

    • @SMOUT_
      @SMOUT_  Před 8 měsíci

      In the UK, a 15LPM machine isn't likely to get the water it needs from probably 90% of customers taps. It varies from house to house, but I wouldn't want to risk starving my pump as you're just going to cause damage. Best to have a buffer tank instead of risking it in my opinion.
