It was showcasing indonesian pencak silat, everybody apart from the main villain and the corrupt cop was a martial artists all the way down to every henchmen....Iko uwais ( rama ) was a former indonesian national pencak silat athelete and his team along with yayan ruhian ( mad dog ) choreographed all the fight scenes , joe taslim ( jaka ) was former indonesian national judo athlete, yayan ruhian ( mad dog ) is a pencak silat teacher and fight coordinator
The Raid 2 is even more hardcore than this. The guy who played Mad Dog comes back playing a different character. Raid 2 is fucking crazy. If you want another crazy movie to watch, check out Man From Nowhere.
This movie is so good. I was lucky enough to see it at a local theater with just me and my brother in the theater so it was like our own personal showing.
It's better in certain ways and worse in other ways. There are action scenes that top the Raid 1 but it suffers from a bloated crime story that isn't that interesting. It also feels less realistic as its hard to justify these epic fight scenes in a world where guns are so readily available. Of course, I still recommend watching the Raid 2.
@@lurkingposter I thought the story was intriguing and was the perfect idea for an action focused movie. Imo The Raid 2 is a 9/10 while The Raid 1 is a solid 8/10.
I totally agree that Raid 2 is objectively a stronger film. But personally, just in my opinion, I like Redemption just a bit more because of it's pace. It's just so god damn breezy and simple. The only thing I'd change is I'd slightly shorten the final battle between Mad Dog and the brothers...fucking exhausting, lol. As for Raid 2, you can probably cut 20 mins out of that movie because it's a bit long winded. I'm splitting hairs though dude. I couldn't really disagree with anyone picking 2 as their favorite.
You know the action is fantastic when it reduces a usually articulate Jimmy to a combination of "Oh shit" and "fuck" to describe what he just witnessed.
Another one of the best action movies of all-time. I enjoyed the second one even more, but this one is almost as great, imo. Another great one is The Man From Nowhere
Dude, I love your reaction when Sergeant Jaka died. I was rooting for him the whole time until I realized that the main character is actually Rama (Iko Uwais)
You should definitely check out Merantua Prime. It stars Iko Uwais as well and it is the first movie installment from the same guys that did the Raid movies.
Hey Jimmy, the Raid was created by a British director Gareth Evans. He’s just done a 10 part series called Gangs of London that is a lot of the same action. And is excellent.Maybe that’s a series reaction you’d like to do? Enjoy Raid 2 which in my opinion is better than the first.
In regards to the situation with the kid, it reminds me of the movie Lone Survivor which is actually based on a true story. A 4 man Navy SEALs team is inserted into Afghanistan to capture a Taliban leader. They encounter some local goat herders. The goat herders don't present any actual threat, but if the team lets them go it is almost a given they will alert the Taliban in the area. They ultimately decide to let them go and as a result 19 US military members were killed (3 members of the initial team and 16 members of two helicopters that were shot down). If they would have killed the goat herders, then it is very possible that no US servicemen die. But they would be killing innocent people who aren't an immediate threat. Also, I believe it would have been a violation of the rules of engagement.
What’s crazy is that you realize that the brothers were losing a 2 v 1 fight and that they totally got lucky with that broken light bulb. Mad Dog was totally handing them their asses.
fuck yes, incredible movie, I literally get so out of breathe watching it lmao. The 2nd one is also unreal. Same guy made Gangs of London btw ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
The Director of this movie was a guy called Gareth Evans. His most recent creation is a TV show called Gangs of London. This is a gangster movie set in the UK and is the most violent UK show ever. It has already been released in the UK but is not out in the US yet. It will be out later this year on Cinemax. Trust me when I say that it will have the best fight scenes ever on Cinemax, even better than Banshee. You can see the trailer here czcams.com/video/4CJ5p4XisHs/video.html
I ain't been here since power ended i miss my boys lol. I'm still pushing for sons of anarchy and since y'all are doing movies to can y'all react to the movie dog pound and den of theives if y'all haven't seen them.
i prefer this over Raid 2. This one is more intense and scary in my opinion and doesn't fuck around for a single second. I found myself losing interest while watching the second one, only cared for the fight scenes. This movie is NOTHING but fight scenes with a very simple plot, a good twist, and one singular setting that makes it easier to follow. love this movie
Another action film masterpiece. I recommend Atomic Blonde for a future movie reaction. Charlize Theron is more badass in that movie than in Mad Max: Fury Road.

Man From Nowhere is great! I don't see it recommended enough
The Raid 2 "Throw me the ball back..." Me: HELL NO! lmao!
Loool I fully thought he was so badass that he survived
So who was that guy
@@thecockneyterritory4869procoso
Samurai Sosa. LOL. I'm dying. The Raid is such a great film. Can't wait till you see Raid 2.
This movie is so good. I was lucky enough to see it at a local theater with just me and my brother in the theater so it was like our own personal showing.
The Raid 2 and then The Night Comes For Us~!
Warrior King & Onk Bak are fantastic also.
The Raid 2 is unique
I love Ong Bak.
Yes, Ong Bak. I love all 3 films
The Raid 2 only gets better if you can believe it.
It's better in certain ways and worse in other ways. There are action scenes that top the Raid 1 but it suffers from a bloated crime story that isn't that interesting. @@lurkingposter not every country is America, dude
@@wickeddave5148 They have guns in both films. In the first film, the lack of guns makes more sense.
The Raid 2 is even better! Saw it 3 times in theatres.
8:15 if you watch behind the scene, jaka (the police officer) really did get hurt at this scene
You know the action is fantastic when it reduces a usually articulate Jimmy to a combination of "Oh shit" and "fuck" to describe what he just witnessed.
Jimmy: mad dogs dead.
Me: hahaha wait till they see part 2
Hell yeah 💪🏾🐐🔥🔥 now yall gotta to the raid 2
If the Raid series was a meal, The Raid: Redemption would be the appetizer and the Raid 2: Berandal would be the entree.
The main character from the Raid is in a series on Netflix called Wu Assassins
Jimmy!!! Subscribed u for Lost content, but i love this one!!
The main actor in here plays another movie on Netflix called " Headshot". And that was nuts also.
The corrupted old guy shot the kid in purpose to let those bad guys know about the raid.
You should check out Gangs of London TV series... It's made by the Director of The Raid ...
Really?
Another one of the best action movies of all-time. I enjoyed the second one even more, but this one is almost as great, imo. Another great one is The Man From Nowhere
Great reaction, mans))
"Oh Shit!" Jimmy Mac 2020

The Raid 2 gets even crazier, believe it or not.
really can't wait till you make reaction to the "Raid2"
Nice reaction bro 👍🖒
As for the kid debate, they would have set the alarms of after hearing the gunshot.

What’s crazy is that you realize that the brothers were losing a 2 v 1 fight and that they totally got lucky with that broken light bulb. Mad Dog was totally handing them their asses.

Every time someone mentions Dredd I just wanna put it on. Such a badass movie~!
The Night Comes For Us on Netflix, check it out, perfect lockdown movie.
Full movie is 3 films
1. Merantau
2. The Raid 1
3. The Raid 2
Mad Dog comes back as Prakoso an equally legit bad ass. Get ready for hammer time though.
Such a great movie. The 2012 Judge Dredd movie is identical story to this film.
5:46 This is the moment.
The second is even better imho. It's like a Bruce lee film was directed by Martin Scorsese. The prison riot scene is fucking bananas
I recommend "I Saw The Devil" and "The Night Comes For Us"
After Raid 2, watch Gangs of London, same director and DP but a tv show about london crime syndicates
