So much nostalgia for the 90’s. I’m sure everyone feels that way for the decade they were growing up in from a child to a teen. Obviously the 90’s were not perfect by any means, but when you’re young and you’re oblivious to the evil of the world and even what’s going on past your couple blocks of your neighborhood, life is so good. When you get older, the longing for that feeling again that you will never have again sucks! But man I loved this band!!
I heard this song on the movie angus in the theater 20+ years ago when I was a young teen. I'm teaching my kids how to play it on guitar and bass now. This song is simple to play but so amazing.

Rock and Roll music is dead when the Earth reached its millenium. 90’s was the last wave of best music and I considered the golden age of music in terms of varieties of genres. This is my favorite song of all time. When I'm on youtube looking for "Name" videos I usually come back to this version...maybe my favorite. Seen the Goos 15 times and their music has a way of getting to me (in a good way).
This thing at the end should have got more press. The Goo had more marketability that what their handlers set up for them. Down to Earth. Relatable. Talented.
A girl I knew sent me Dizzy Up The Girl, back in 1998. Had no idea who the band were at the time. That album made me work backwards, found Name and Jed and Hold Me Up and, probably the best album I've ever listened to to this day : Superstar Carwash. Unreal band. Listened to them when I was a teenager. My teenager daugther listens to them now.
I just went to see them in Bangor, Maine 🇺🇸 and they played for an hour and a half. He spoke maybe 2 minutes in total and just hammered out one song after another for 90 minutes. Different guitar for each song brought to him by his stage crew. Hardly a word switching guitars and right into the next song. I'm not sure if it was that it was the second to last show of the tour or the cool weather of very late September in Maine, but he was on a mission to play music and nothing else.
Johnny Rzeznik is most underrated I think. His voice is great and he's a helluva good guitar player and songwriter. One of the best I think.
