Formed in 2019. Lead singer Mayu was looking for a backing band for a live session. She called her former classmate, bassist Hariguchi-san. They found drummer Tamu Murata, an in demand session drummer, guitarist Saki (ex-Mary's Blood) and guitarist Hazuki (ex-Disquala). They decided the lineup was too good for a one off, decided to form a band, and named it after a flower because they are all female. Lve Mayu's screams, they are usually in English, her cleans are great to and are a mix of English and Japanese. Hazuki and Saki shred on 7 strings. Awesome and solid bass and drums. 2 full albums with #3 on the way in Jan. And a recently released covers EP. Also have a lot of covers on their channel.
For more try any of the official lives released in the last few months: Oiran, Seize the Fate, Change the World, and Zen. Tomorrow(Dec 22) they release a new music video for a song called Odyssey.
You need to hear Zen Live to see where they're at today. It's just RELENTLESS.

Welcome to NEMOPHILA. This band is maybe thee most dynamic J-metal band of them all. As soon as you think you know their style, they'll through you for a loop with something completely different. 🌸✨️🌠
Nemophila were founded in 2019. They are a supergroup composed of:
ex-Mary's Blood guitarist Saki
ex-Lipstick vocalist Mayu
ex-Disqualia guitarist Hazuki (also plays with Lisa-X)
ex-Hölderlins bassist Haraguchi-san, and
ex-Soramimi drummer Murata Tamu
This is one of the bands to watch, no question. They just started in 2019 and are blowing up fast. As you can see from the gang vocals, they don't take themselves too seriously-Hazuki even winks. They almost seem to be enjoying a private joke, that goes "Hi, we're a bunch of cute, fun girls and we are going to rip your face off, and you are going to like it.”
Initially, they were just a side project, co-organized by Mayu with some help from Saki, largely to keep busy in the early days of the pandemic. The viral reaction seems to have convinced them they were onto something potentially big, so they’ve been putting a lot more work into it, including some successful live-streams and an appearance at the annual Japanese female rock festival NAONのYAON. They tend toward hard and heavy, but also do ballads and some pop covers. Saki is the only one who had been with a breakout band before (Mary’s Blood); Hazuki and Murata-tamu are also considered elite musicians and have worked with a lot of other top artists. Hara-san is the youngest but is clearly a great talent and has been developing in front of our eyes. She has already written several songs for the group. And of course Mayu is quickly establishing herself as a great metal vocalist.
They just toured the U.S. (their second go at performing here): I saw them live and they blew the roof off the place.

The Japanese metal/rock scene is the best on the world currently. Nemophila & Lovebites are my favs, but others like Band-Maid & Hanabie are awesome as well. Dive deeper with Nemophila & Lovebites. It only get's better. These all fenale groups are awesome. FYI" Check out Zen & buckle up.

Nemophila are elite in every way. They have something for everyone. They are no one trick pony. RAITEI, their first music video, was what I listened to first and it hooked me from day one. OIRAN was their other single around this early period. They also did sic covers during Covid to keep themselves together as a band and to create a fan base. The model worked so well for them on CZcams. Their covers also introduce people to other Japanese metal bands. Kurenai from X-Japan is my favorite along with Zetsubo Billy from Maximum the Hormone.

Great reaction man! Welcome to the kick ass world of Nemophila. Been around since 2019. Their Third album is coming out next month. Like Lovebites they have two shredding guitarist with Saki and Hazuki. Their drummer Tamu is one of best out of Japan and their bass Haraguchi-san is a kick ass bass player and just a fireball. Mayu the lead singer as very unique and awesome screams and cleans. Really never heard anything like her. Some out their she resembles but she is her own for sure. She mixes the screams and cleans well and she sounds just as amazing live. She does not scream and growl in every song also they are diverse. They play many styles of Metal , Hard Rock.Most the time they are shredding in your face but they do have a few slower songs here and there which they do great too but they are mostly metal. They are an all around amazing band. Seeing as you love Lives try a few of theirs. Like Oiran Official Live from about 4 months ago. Oiran was the first original song they recorded. Also there is Zen live. Another great song is Adabana which is killer. Another would be RAITEI which is straight up clean vocals and has killer duel guitar solos. Nemophila is a fairly new band, getting together just before the Lockdown. During the lockdown to keep the hype high they released a lot of covers, and they have have become known for it. They still do covers now, just not as frequently. So if you want to listen to some Nemophila without reacting to them that is an option, they are on their CZcams channel. Definitely check out some of their live songs (Zen, Revive). Most Japanese bands with Western fans are pretty good about subtitles.
Based on what you have said you will also probably like Hanabie, still kind of Metalcore (they are self-described as "Harajuku-core"), but a bit less serious and a bit more fun than some bands (it may take a few songs to get a feel for them).
I always like fun, so that sounds like something I'd enjoy. I'll be sure to check Hanabie out :D

Recently I've been listening to the song "The Black Death Mansion Murders" a lot.
But if you prefer a song that also has some screams/growls, you could listen to "Angreifer", it's a popular favorite from them.
Lastly, if you are into music theory and cool composition ideas, I would also recommend CADAVER/REVADAC (it's two songs, but the melody of the second song is the melody of the first song played in reverse, note by note, quite genius to write something that works both ways)
I'll stick with the majority here and recommend "Rise" and "Adabana" MV's, along with "Oiran" (they have an official MV and two official live videos), and "Zen" live. Actually, I think you'd really like "Back into the Wild". There's no MV for it on YT but the audio is available. Can't wait for their third full album coming in January. Their last, Seize the Fate, was the best album I've heard in years and I started buying vinyl in the 60's.

Zen makes this sound like a nursery rhyme although I still prefer Rise.
