hell the smiles are one of the many many refreshing things this band brings lol. They are having fun making music and not afraid to show it. I am an old metal head and don't need to see some mean face all the time in rock and metal. The no smiles, pissed off dark attitude is all cool and has been throughout metal and rock history and will always be there but Nemophila rocks your world and melts your face off with a smile and the smiles are a welcome change especially in the world today.
I love the drummer. She's obviously enjoying herself, grinning ear to ear! She's so cute in the Kiss make up.
All of the talent mayu brings to Nemophila, I forgot just how great and solid she is in her lower register.
I agree with you about the smiling, it's infectious and really is the cherry on top of the awesomeness of Nemophila!

It's exactly what I posted as a comment on their video. I always loved to go from a NEMOPHILA cover to listen back to the original, and that's exactly what I got from it.
And yet, it's such a song that doesn't showcase how talented they are. They are way above that song technically. Nothing pushes them up to their limits here.
Drumming is slow, not too complex, guitar solos are same, bass is simple enough, the only thing that could have been a question was Mayu's voice for that cover, and as usual, with her versatility and her ability to get clean, raspy or screamy voice, she was able to tackle it perfectly.
Great reaction as usual, and thanks for sharing it.
My only comment would be, when you do that, please introduce a song of their own as a second reaction. Specially after a cover like that, to showcase how good they are.
Exactly..if you're going to present a band to someone, then maybe it'd be best to present their original best..
He chose this because the guy worked for KISS. And the guy worked some KISS info in. Joel wants to introduce a variety of groups that he's discovered here. I think this is just right. It's fun and it make you want to see more. It's a song that Nemophila chose to do to farm a fan base.
@@jefffromchicago6321 that's fine, then do more than 1 song by them like he did for band maid, or others, You know like maybe an original that showcases their abilities, instead of just a song they can play in their sleep
Love this band so much I am taking a 7 and 1/2 hour bus ride to NYC to see them! I agree with you.. the smioes is awesome.
1985. Was that the 3rd year of Kiss's 2nd final tour? I love that he's not afraid to spill some dirt. Even though there's a lot of dirt about Kiss already.
Nemophila puts everything they have into every song and have fun with it. Amazing artists.
My fave thing is two working moms in that band now. Love working moms in music from Christy McWilson to Sarah Blackwood and these two women.
You will notice Saki is not wearing makeup used by any of the Kiss guys. She is using a version of one of her favourite guitarist's makeup, Ace Shimuzu of Seikima II who I know you have reacted to.
Which made them "Kiss with a pair of Aces." Epic.

I discovered this band about 2 months ago and they are so great. I hope one day they come to Australia and my band can open up for them, it would be an honor.
I bet time spent on their makeup was longer than time learning and polishing the song!😄💪🏻🤘🏻

Tamu the drummer is just so freaking adorable.
So smiling is a bad thing, for me it's one of the many things I like about them!! That and the fact that they weren't trying to be Kiss just play there song and I must confess they did a hell of a job!!! I like your reactions but on this one I really didn't care for your guest don't smile and Haraguchi-sans tongue is to short, what a rube!!! Oh and if I offended anybody so be it!!!

Wow, that guy, the smiles was "the one thing he didn't like about them" , "because you know, the drummer the drummer um the you know the drummer was like well first well I I worked with Peter Criss"... yadi yadi yada, sick and tired of those stiff , "tough" looking metalheads and rockers who thinks they invented the cool look by looking mean, sad world we live in when the only thing that cost nothing and can change your day, smiles, is so poorly appreciated, but in all that was a great reaction on your part! Hey Joel that was great. I personally agree with your your take on the smiling, fun loving women, but that’s just me. So here is a fun question for their more knowledgeable fans. I understand the group is replicating the makeup, but Haraguchi-San just rocks that look. So I understand she may be, or has been a professional model before her music path. Anyone out their with more knowledge? ❤️🌸

Just try to imagine - Mayu doesn't speak a word of English - she learned all of these words phonetically. The band had to hold their talent behind their backs to play this song accurately :0)

This sounds very nice. It is very well done. A bit too easy for the ladies though. No shredding and advanced stuff for any of them. But, as I said, very likeable.
