RIDE OF THE ROSES | YORKSHIRE DALES & THE FOREST OF BOWLAND | PART 1

This great motorbike ride starts from York in England then heads west through the largest county in England, Yorkshire & the Yorkshire Dales National Park. 155miles passing through rugged beautiful countryside of historic market towns, battlefields, formidable castles & ruined abbeys. Finally passing over the Trough of Bowland, a high pass leading to the magnificent Lancaster castle sitting proud on top of the hillside looking over the city of Lancaster.

Some nice views & not such a well known route for motorcyclists. There are parts of it used by cyclists on the 'Way of the Roses'. The cyclists ride 170 miles from Morecombe Bay to Bridlington. They can choose whether to ride the route in either 2,3,4 or even 5 days.
On a motorbike if u choose to ride the motorcyclists version of the route, 155 miles, you can ride the whole route in a whole day. 👍

I liked the little path you took up the side of the river. Rode Hawes/Tan Hill Inn/Buttertubs Pass end of July, great day except having to go through Bradford! Will check out Cumbrian lakes ride. Fancy a day or so up there.

Yes seems to be the case having to ride through traffic to get to places which are biking territory. I enjoyed the lakes a lot more tbh. You'll really enjoy the mountain passes around there. Let me know how it goes, enjoy! Daz
