- Today I take you on a journey through Miraflores - Lima, Peru! It's a Running Tour, not a Walking Tour, I lied! haha!
We start at Larcomar and head towards Parque del Amor and Parque Chino de Miraflores before heading down the stairs towards the beach (Punta Roquitas)!
We run alongside: Espigón Waikiki, Restaurante La Rosa Náutica, Miraflores Surf Lessons, Playa Redondo Park, Mirador playa redondo, playa piedritas redondo I and Playa La Estrella. I head back up the cliff towards Bajada de Clubes and ultimately ending the video at the bridge (Puente Eduardo Villena Rey).

Miraflores is a district of the Lima Province in Peru. It is a residential and upscale shopping district south of downtown Lima. It is also one of the most affluent districts that make up the city of Lima. It has several hotels (including the Hilton, the JW Marriott, and the Belmond), restaurants, bars, nightclubs, and department stores. Miraflores is one of the main tourist destinations in Lima.
Founded as San Miguel de Miraflores, it was established as a district on January 2, 1857. As a result of the Battle of Miraflores fought during the War of the Pacific, Miraflores got the designation of Ciudad Heroica ("Heroic City"). The district's postal code is 18.

I m Peruvian and there is a lot of places to visit here. We have deserts, snow mountains and jungles to explore.
Also we have the only german-austrian colony in the world. It s called Oxapampa.
The only oasis in South America called the Huacachina.
In Perú there is always a place to explore and the food is delicious.

I love Miraflores. I am peruvian. Soy miraflorino y amo Miraflores. Conozco las playas. Es un distrito agradable y Larcomar es lo mas visitado despues de Machu Picchu que tambien lo conozco. Tambien estuve en el rio Amazonas Pucalpa Tingo Maria Huaraz y la selva de Tambopata. Hay muchisimo por ver.

26:11 When I was a Kid (circa 1965) in that place there were stairs that went down to the beach. There was no Larcomar but a very old Acoustic Shell and a Roller Skating place. Then all that was demolished to construct Larco Mar in 1997. A lot of "limeños" were not happy with that iniciative. There were some protests.
In the 70's there were a lot of free rock concerts there and also the summer concerts with the Symphonic Orchestra. They often began at 6:30 pm... so the sunset... the horizon... the smell of the sea... the sound of the waves... In that time, I was a Teenager, I used to go to both types of events... and when they finished, go down to the beach in the night with some friends and some "happy substances" to enjoy our youth. It was magic... In 1997 when all that was demolished, I was one of those "fourtysome" nostalgic protesters.

Somebody told me they were building stairs once again, next to Larcomar, but I havent seen any sign of construction yet!

Si había una bajada antes allí donde está larcomar: la cerraron cuando construyeron el centro comercial y la playa Justo abajo se llamaba playa redondo. Baje junto a mis hermanos ese camino incontables veces para darnos un chapuzón en el mar, todas las playas de esa zona eran arena y no piedras como son ahora. Y había mucho más espacio para tomar el sol 😢
¡vaya, nunca supe eso! La gente me ha dicho que pronto están reconstruyendo uno nuevo al lado de Larcomar. Veremos que sucede. ¡Es triste oír hablar de la playa!
Cuando construyeron el complejo de tiendas se proyectaron a que las personas que ahí paseen no suban mojadas o en fachas al mall de Larco Mar para que fuese más ordenado y tenga un swing más glamoroso

Brilliant run-tour of the Lima cliffs. The Rosa Náutica restaurant wont be expensive compared to UK prices, you can book on the day. Another run I could sugest is along the 50 blocks of the Arequipa Av that start at the Miraflores roundabout and leads to the historical centre. I sugest stops at Huaca Pucllana and Parque El Olivar. Another walk or run could be along Av Benavides from block 1 till block 42 then you run/walk diagonal 10 blocks more to Loma Amarilla ( Yellow Hill) near the Rocky Mountains, here you will see the social devide too at each side of the Panamericana Highway. Finally walk along the cliffs but to the left until you get to Chorrillos and El Morro Solar where you get good views of the city, it’s better go on weekends when security is better for tourists.
Thank you :) Yes, all restaurants are cheaper in comparison to the UK and US! I live here at the moment, so earning soles and spending soles makes it more normally priced, but for tourists, yes I'm sure its very cheap!
The Miraflores roundabout to downtown Lima was one I was considering. I like that route, but I was worried it would be too boring. It would probably be an hour long as its quite far. I would consider it though!
Huaca Pucllana I plan on visiting soon, its very near my house :)

@@s34nTravels Hi, if you follow the Benavides Av. route till Yellow Hill. You are getting pretty close to my neighborhood 😂.
You can visit The Friendship Park that is near the block 42 of Benavides.
You can do many things inside the park, like taste some of our desserts or play in the little lake inside.
Also you should taste Peruvian chicken from Pardos Chicken restaurant. It's pretty good. There is one pretty close to The Friendship Park.
San Isidro district is also a good place to visit or Santiago de Surco district that's where I live.
Hope you enjoy your visit to Perú and create a lot of good memories here.
This country has a lot of places to visit and everyone is pretty unique.

@@s34nTravels Fantástico. Aquí la temporada de calor es corta, unos 4 meses, luego el frío es muy húmedo cerca del litoral, aunque los limeños también le vemos su encanto y se disfruta.
Aprovecha que Lima tiene el mar muy cerca y recorre también el malecón de San Isidro y Barranco. Y si buscas evitar el sol, el bosque del Olivar y el golf en San Isidro, el parque Castilla en Lince, y gran parte de las avenidas de San Borja son ideales.

Min.32:34: Ese puente, en el pasado se le conocía como "el puente de los suicidas" debido, a que era usado por personas desesperanzadas para terminar con sus vidas, lanzándose al vacio; por eso, le cubrieron los costados con vallas muy altas, para evitar que lo siguieran usando para quitarse la vida.

I took a trip to La Rosa Nautica, but it seemed a little pretentious. They wouldn't let me look at the place without a reservation. I much prefer the street food and the food cooked by the working class Peruvian peoples. It has the best taste and made with love!

No me gusta mucho Miraflores, se siente como una burbuja turística en un país que comparte poco con él. Como Cancún en México por ejemplo. No representa mucho al país. También es muy caro. y por el dinero que las empresas ganan con los turistas, no les pagan lo suficiente a sus empleados. Prefiero mucho otras zonas (de Lima): Breña, Surquillo, Rímac, San Miguel... Pero mis lugares favoritos son las montañas; lejos de la ciudad.
Pero para Miraflores, me gusta la costanera, ¡es hermosa! ¡El acantilado, el océano y el paisaje son increíbles para mirar y caminar!

I don't like Miraflores too much, it feels like a tourist bubble in a country that shares little with it. Like Cancun in Mexico for example. It doesn't represent the country much. It's also very expensive. and for the money the businesses make from the tourists, they dont pay their employees enough. I much prefer other areas (of Lima): Brena, Surquillo, Rimac, San Miguel... But my favourite places are in the mountains; away from the city.
But for Miraflores, I like the waterfront, it's beautiful! The cliffside, ocean and scenery are amazing to look at and walk through!

Ahora puedes visitar, Saliendo de Miraflores en bus de ida y vuelta desde Av Areqipa con Av Angamos v en directo y te vajas en Monterrico El Museo de 0ro! único en el planeta pasando Av La Encala a 2 cuadras, y 2 a la derecha!! De 8 a 5pm! adentro hay 2 temas a ver con Museo de Armas full turistas? Así hace 3tours caminando ahora a 4 cuadras esta la embajada usa en plena Av: La Encalada! al frente es Moll El Polo tomate 1 buen café en la Laritza o 1 helado" así puedes terminar visitando el Moll más grande y Super Calidad Jockey Plaza igual tomas un micro bus que diga Universidad de Lima es a 10 cuadras o 5 minutos caminando y haces el 3 x en uno incluso si vas martes jueves o fin de Semana del patio de Comida puedes filmar las Carreras de Caballos ya que este Moll Jokey plaza está en una parte del Terreno de Nuestro Hipódromo osea el Jokey Club del Perú!!
I visited the Jockey Plaza when I first arrived. It's cool, but I'm not really into shopping too much. I have visited Mall of America in Minneapolis for example, but it's just modern junk and overpriced food and drink. I much prefer a real adventure!
