    I found another $2 bill in Modern Media!!! In an early Spongebob Episode "Pickles" with Bubble Bass, Mr Krabs is forced to give a $2 bill as a refund because Spongebob was falsely accused of forgetting the pickles! I remember being baffled as a kid as to why only 1 bill was presented as $2.

    Is there a book about this? This is fascinating and informative. I found some red seals.. Yet I found “A” series notes. I really love to have a big stack of $2’s for a retirement game and have a book on how much I can get for each note that might be worth more than $2.00’s

      There probably is, but I don't know one offhand. A simple search will probably show one. I have stacks of $2 bill straps if you want to pay a little above premium for the convenience of my shipping them to you. I also have most of a strap left where the serial number starts with 555885, meaning I've got some binary notes, trinarys, and several 5-of-a-kinds. I had them listed on Whatnot, where I also sold red seals bills. Check my Community page for that info. And you should email me at john (@) 2dollarbillmovie.com and we can talk more there.

    Just because someone paid "x" amount for something doesn't mean it will sell for that much. That may have paid far more than anyone else is willing to pay.

    • @TheTwoDollarBillDocumentary
      @TheTwoDollarBillDocumentary  Před 3 měsíci +1

      True, an item is only worth what someone will pay for it. At some point if it keeps selling, someone will lose money. But if you find a two with a fancy serial number and you can sell it for even $4, isn't that worth checking your serial numbers for?

    Question, was there a redesign for the 2024 $2 bills because I have one that has the date “03.19.2024” printed beneath “this note is a legal tender…“

    Why are Serial numbers in 8 digits only ?...before it was not such a case ....any particular reason behind it ???plz do reply sir....

    • @TheTwoDollarBillDocumentary
      @TheTwoDollarBillDocumentary  Před 5 měsíci +1

      8 digits allows for 99,999,999 different serial numbers to identify for a unique serial number on a particular bill. Most bills end in the latter A, but if they need more than those 99,999,999, the last letter rolls over to a B.
      There used to be less digits in a serial number because there was less currency printed. The demand for more notes necessitated larger serial numbers.

    If all these were actually valuable, why arent the bank workers selling them? Think about it.

    • @TheTwoDollarBillDocumentary
      @TheTwoDollarBillDocumentary  Před 2 měsíci

      A) How do you know they're not? B) Maybe many of them don't know they're valuable. C) If they come within a full uncirculated strap of 100 bills, they can't break it up to get to the bills with the best serial numbers. Think abut it.

    • @rickysmyth
      @rickysmyth Před 2 měsíci

      @@TheTwoDollarBillDocumentary you're not going to sell money for more than face value. I do know Americans waste money though. For example, the whole idea of tipping. Everywhere else in the world you're trying to pay the least amount of money so why do you pay more?

    • @TheTwoDollarBillDocumentary
      @TheTwoDollarBillDocumentary  Před 2 měsíci

      Dude, I have over 100 sales on Etsy since Feb 1 - all for $2 bills. Most of them I got at the bank and flipped for up to 20% higher because I'm providing a service to those who think they can't get them, or at least, that they can't get them as crisp, uncirculated and sequential as I do. Look, you have a valid point, but you're just plain wrong. I have evidence from all my sales on Etsy, eBay and my film's website. Plus I see it happening on the Whatnot app and in collector circles all the time. People buy bills of all denominations with unique serial numbers or slight misprints. Bottom line: this entire video was inspired by what I see happening all around and what I know to be true without doubt. People CAN and WILL pay more money than face value. Period. End of discussion.

    What about a broken ladder? I have a 1963 red seal star note 2 dollar bill with the serial # *00213054 A
    Any idea what its worth? I paid $20

    • @TheTwoDollarBillDocumentary
      @TheTwoDollarBillDocumentary  Před 24 dny +1

      Broken ladders have value but usually need more unique digits than what you have there. As an example, 8-digit ladders range from $5-$35, so one with 5 digits would be much less on the high end.
