    Wow. I bought a shapeoko 5 pro a couple of months ago and watched this video last week. I'm pleased to inform you that I have sold the shapeoko and am ordering an elite foreman! The build quality looks ten times better and rigidity has to be significantly better. great work!

      That’s AWESOME!! Congratulations and welcome to Team Onefinity! I’ve never even seen a SO5 Pro in person, but I’m confident there’s no way it’s more rigid than the Elite…and if you add a “Stiffy” like I did, you could sit on top of the X gantry and ride along while it carves! 😁

      @DadModeRN Před 11 měsíci +1

      @@MitchellsWoodwork It was pretty rigid but there's not a chance it beats this design in rigidity. The main issue was failures! Customer service was excellent and did all they could, but I had 4 major failures within the first month. Stepper motor, router, and then the front panel/bit setter controller failed twice. I don't want to spend that much and have constant downtime.
      Thank you, I'm very excited!

      @ericstreet4103 I had the Pro XXL before I bought this machine. I can honestly say I never had a minutes trouble with it in the entire 18 months I owned it. But the size and benefits of the Elite Foreman were just too much for me to ignore. I loved my SO Pro, but it can’t begin to compare to this machine.

      As for the Kreg Universal Bench, I bought the 64” x 64” and it was a bit shaky, but I modified mine and now it’s fine.
      I have documented the Kreg Bench and my entire journey with the Onefinity Elite Foreman in my “Onefinity Mods & Tips” playlist at the link below. It’s really not bad at all. A friend of mine got his Elite Foreman last week and put it together by himself in 3 hours. When I bought my Shapeoko Pro XXL in 2022 it took 10 hours over the course of 2 days to put it together. I bought a used X-carve before that and the original owner told me he spent 12 hours assembling that one. Onefinity is by far the simplest assembly of any of the hobby grade CNC’s.

    Thank you for the video. I have read the assembly manual on their website and have watched a few assembly videos. I have yet to see anybody address the Z axis during assembly. Is there an assumption being made that every table the machine is placed upon is planar in the Z axis?

    • @MitchellsWoodwork
      @MitchellsWoodwork  Před 10 měsíci

      If I’m understanding your question, I would say, yes. The Z slider is either 90° to the bed or it’s not. If you’re concerned about it just check it with a square against the waste board. Also, once you surface the waste board the first time you’re gonna know pretty quick if you have a tramming or leveling issue. I just now checked mine (first time ever) and it appears to be perfectly 90° to the waste board. The way the slider is built I would think it’d be pretty hard to attach it to the gantry out of square.
      I hope this answer was helpful, but if I misunderstood your question, I apologize. You can contact support@onefinitycnc.com if you need additional information that I’m unable to provide. Thanks for watching and commenting!

      Im talking about the four attach points on the side rails. I should have said the z plane. Ive been researching these for a while now and my brain to typing translator can get a bit foggy.
      If a person does not buy the qcw frame with leveling feet and mounts directly to a table there is a chance to introduce a twist into the side rails if the table is not flat. I guess a solution would be shimming at the attach points as needed when mounting directly to a table.
