Previous owner put cheapy chrome allen-head bolts on my manifold and I have to retorque them every 3 months. I think this will be a nice upgrade

I know this video is for a 2nd gen application but I am curious if using the studs and removing the heat shield on a late 3rd gen application with an ATS manifold has any adverse affects on the intake pipe. Basically melting issues is what I’m getting at.

Hi, I have a question, I am installing a SteedT4i67 exhaust manifold, and I received these studs, what is the maximum torque that these studs support on a 6.7cummins 2017?
I find, 55 LBS torque, ouch

I keep reading that some people are having a hard time keeping studs tight on the exhaust manifolds. The long factory bolts with spacers were designed to stretch just a little to keep them tight as things heat cycle, where as short bolts (or in this case studs) do not. Have you ever heard of this or run into it yourself?
I am watching this very closely as this set of studs went into my personal truck. So far so good. I went through and did a re torque after a couple of heat cycles and so far so good.
@@thoroughbreddiesel any updates on issues of backing out like other studs?
The problem with Exhaust manifold fasteners is overheating the poor quality stock manifolds. They shrink when they are overheated. To remove them either the bolts (Since they have sideways binding) Bolts do not have universal joints and some break. The answer is to cut the stock manifold with an angle grinder, Drive a machinist's splitting wedge into the kerf forcing it to break. the gap often opens up to an eight of an inch. Bolts are easy to remove. I usually have 1 broken but can turn it out with my fingers. Buy a new, (Up-Graded manifold. Simple fact is the biggest problem is miss information and parts salesmen. There is NO PROBLEM with the stock fasteners. Install all new fasteners. Saw the bracket to reach the one back bolt. Use a short (Scab) with a hole drilled into each end. Hold it with small vicegrips. Secure it with 2 self-tapping drill screws
