    Hey Abbey!!! I would love to see a “the truth about” video on collagen, keratin, and biotin oral/topical supplements for hair and your research on them. I’ve seen so many different perspectives (i.e only taking them orally works, neither oral or topical works, there’s not enough research on it, etc.) and I think your thoughts on this would be really interesting!!! 🙂

    • @makennanelson222
      @makennanelson222 Před rokem +1

      Hey! I’m not a professional but Harvard did a study that shows oral collagen is more effective. I would have recommended vitals but they have a lawsuit. I would go with biocell collagen

    I have thick, wavy, medium coarse hair… my mother was a cosmetologist my whole life. I also was a cosmetologist. We swear by Biolage Conditioning Balm. It has to be the balm. The thickest conditioner I have ever found. It works like magic for me. Also, not completely washing my conditioner out. I still want to feel some of the conditioner on my hair length after rinsing. Thank you for all of the tips!!💕💕💕

    @dracoded Před 2 lety +42

    My biggest tip is using gentle side to side motions when shampooing, instead of circular motion, and of course only shampooing the scalp. I find when I come to brushing my hair when its dry (with my fine texture) I have hardly any knots. Honestly a game-changer!

    • @danaelois
      @danaelois Před 2 lety +2

      Could you describe the side to side motion a bit more? I try but don't think that I fully get it yet 😅

    • @dracoded
      @dracoded Před 2 lety +5

      @@danaelois Just go gently side to side or up and down with your fingers when shampooing your scalp. Naturally most people want to go circular because the shampoo lathers more easily, but this creates tangles. Also make sure you're being thorough and cleaning every part of your scalp.

  • @uberlicious5799
    @uberlicious5799 Před 2 lety +19

    Another great tip is to detangle from the bottom up to the scalp. This way you are not compressing snarls into more tangled hair. Think of it as climbing up a ladder. I blow dry the same way. All of Abby's tips are spot on. Love your channel.

    My best tip to help with severe tangling is to wash/condition your hair wearing plastic gloves in the shower ( not the cheap type you get in the at home hair dye kits. Buy the type that are your size-usually $15 for a box of 100) you will be shocked to see how well you can scrub your scalp- you hands will just slide through your hair. I also found an added benefit is that my manicure last an additional 3 days, as the hair is not getting stuck around the edges of your nail polish and your nails aren't exposed to all the hair products you use in the shower. this has made all the difference my tangling problem.

    Tip for single hardcore tangles: spray the tangle with something very silicone-y and start gently pulling out single hairs. That leaves you with a tangle that gets super small, and gently pulling it apart is much better than using a brush

    I am so happy to hear that someone else with thin hair can only comb their hair when it's wet. if I let my hair dry and then try to comb the knots out it's almost impossible. I do use the same y tooth comb. But now knowing that I should add in a leave-in conditioner or oil helps with the detangling seems like it's going to be a major relief for me.
    My question is, when you detangles your hair before you wash it should you use an oil or detangler first?

    so, i have curly/frizzy hair that is 50 shades of damaged and i can't brush my hair(even combing) if it's anything but sopping wet or it is a living beast. even damp or slightly dry hair and it becomes a dandelion (make a wish kids!) just wondering if there is anything i could do differently (such as product or something) it gets annoying when i'm in between my washes, my hair is a tangled mess and i can't fix it without showering. i live in a complicated home situation, so i cant wash more than once or twice a week.

      Try using a wide hair band around your hairline and then use a larger shower cap and make sure you over up over the top of the hair band. The hair band creates a barrier and keeps hair back. It also helps my shower cap stay in place.. the soft stretchy terry hair bands work great for this..
