After watching your 3 videos on how to improve damaged hair and train your hair for less washing, I have to thank you SO hard! Previously the top layer of my hair was so damaged and split from heat damage and being totally being overloaded with keratin from the hundreds of products I've bought over the years to 'fix' it. I always thought it odd that the underneath layer was fine and lovely and the top layer horrid and breaking off like straw, until it occurred to me that the top layer is where most the product was going and they ALL had hydrolyzed protein in 🙈 I've box dyed my hair red once a month for 15 years and it turns out all the products I bought to try and improve it were only making it worse. The things you suggested in the videos have been making such a huge difference in just one month! I bought a satin pillow case, velvet scrunchies, the shower filter, I'm transitioning to 3 days between washes, oiling my hair the night before its wash (sleeping in a satin lined hat that night to stop the oil going elsewhere!). I also am not using a single product with hydrolyzed protein in for now (which is hard to find, trust!) Focusing on moisture and overall just being a lot more gentle with my hair. I've been so stressed about how shitty and damaged my hair is for SO MANY YEARS and in the space of 1 month I'm seeing such a massive improvement 😍 Your videos were a huge part of that so, once again, thank you so much!! It's making me so happy! I can't wait to see what it will be like in 3-6 months and when I can finally get a trim once the UK lockdown ends 💙
All of your tips have been so successful. My hair looked so dry and limp because I washed every single day. I have an oily scalp and live in an area with 100% humidity, but after your tips I can go every 3 or 4 now 😭 That double scalp cleanse is life. I actually stumbled across some of pureology's blogs that had some awesome tips that I thought you would like. One was to spray in your dry shampoo before bed so that it absorbs oil while you sleep. The only difference is that you don't rub it in after you apply it. (100% works. It looks awesome when I wake up and the texture is great, vs how it feels applying dry shampoo to a heavily oily scalp). The other was to use your hair mask on dry hair the night before you wash it. Because dry hair will more readily absorb hydration when it's dry vs when it's already wet and saturated. (Noticeably worked. My hair was so bouncy and healthy feeling the next day. Way more than how it would if I used it in the shower.) Sorry, that was super long. But hope you like some of those. I owe it to you for my hair transformation and confidence boost!
Abby, I am 61 yrs. old and have found your CZcams and very much enjoyed them. In my later 50's I started growing my hair long again. Brunette, with fine hair, very similar to yours and have actually worked my hair down to washing only twice per week and continuing to try to do less. I have a water softener in my whole house, and have seen a large difference with skin and hair. Thank you for all your tricks and tips. Wanted you to know that an old lady is following you:):) Keep up the good work and may the Lord continue to bless your hard work! P.S. I'm going to try your 3 oils the night before I wash...I had been using the Kerastase Gold oil, but going to switch it up:)
Always remember washing your hair only once a week doesnt work for some people, myself included. I tried washing my hair once a week for about half a year and it went horribly wrong for me! I dont know why this happened but i got pretty bad seborrheic dermatitis from only washing my hair once a week. My hair did become way less oily and it looks way healthier but my scalp is in too much pain for me to continue on with this no matter how good my hair looks. So incase youre about to try only washing your hair once a week please remember that its not for everyone and dont be sad if you dont get the results you wanted :)
@@opchick0597 try using dry shampoo the night before (when it usually starts to get oily) and when you wake up your hair will have a much better texture
A trick I've been doing lately to give my oily, thin, straight hair some more volume is washing my hair upside down. This also makes sure I don't wash the upper layers of my hair which are very damaged on me. I brush my hair upside down before hopping in the shower, next I will wet the hair and wash the roots twice upside down. I don't rinse the second time immediately! I get up, flip my hair over and use the scalp exfoliator (the brush thingy) while the shampoo is still in. This gives my hair such a good cleanse!! I have definitely noticed a difference since starting this 😊
Honestly, washing your hair upside down is *chef's kiss* It promotes hair growth because the blood goes to your scalp, you get a deeper clean, you get more volume, less breakage than washing hair regularly. Unfortunately, I had to stop because my hair is super long now and it gives me major neck and back pain when I'm done 🥲
My first time watching your channel ITS EXACTLY what I'm looking for. I love Ordinary Products. so in excited to try your holy grail trio. I am a once a week shampoo girl so this is perfect. THANK YOU !!
I recently found your channel due to me getting extensions & really wanting to take care of my hair/extend the life of them. But I LOVE YOU! seriously you put so much work into your channel it’s soooo appreciated.. 💗 You’re awesome!
Love love love this video! Such good tips to continue off of the hair train routine. Really appreciate all the demo clips (in this case, the shower clips).
Would love to see an updated hairstyling video from you…with new products & techniques you use :) I’m also very curious how you feel about the dyson air wrap as a blow dryer? I don’t really use the air wrap barrels … i use the brush. Wondering if this direct heat is damaging my hair. It seems fragile these days :(
The round brush is the most damaging, bc the metal heats up plus the hot air, and then the tension used to stretch and twist the hair. Works great tho. The barrels are less damaging I believe and if you can find that super sweet barely damp but not dry spot it’s pretty quick and gentle heat exposure.
Ive been binging your hair care videos all afternoon (laundry day) - I havent heard anything about if you sleep on a silk pillow case- wondering if you worry about sleeping with the oils on your hair - if you use a different pillow case that night?
Thanks to you, I wash my hair less frequently these days (1-2 times a week). I see so much baby hair and overall hair health. I have an intensive skincare routine. Cutting back my hair care routine makes my life a lot simpler >3

It’s getting installed today 👏 I’ve lived in the house for 5 months and was wondering why my hair had started falling out in clumps. I’m transitioning over to the products you suggest. Stacey can I ask how you know you have low porosity hair? I know I have something going on plus I'm 47 so I know the dryness is also age. But I kind of thought I might have high porosity hair. It's very dry and super thin and fine and getting thinner every day. I feel like I find no one with hair like mine.

How often do you style your hair per week? I find that after styling I need hairspray to hold, but anytime I use a product (hair spray or not) that it gets greasy after a day or so. So I am curious about it for you since you only wash 1x a week
Could your roots be a little more heavy because you don’t put any conditioner on them? Maybe your roots are over producing oil because they are too stripped from the cleanse.

I thought that hair mask was just deep conditioning? in which case no conditioner afterwards would be necessary ... or use mask on its own as a mask treatment day? All Olaplaex multi seemingly repetitive products are driving me crazy trying to manage using them without spending the whole day at it. I mean how much can hair absorb in the first place, we may be actually treating our plumbing more than anything else. Just not sure about all this. I have used all the olaplex step and don't see much difference with or without 0/3/5/mask/6 and 7. Its a bit much!
I am writing to update. Olaplex says you do not use conditioner AND mask, either one. That is helpful. I do find I like the mask better than the conditioner so I am going to skip that altogether. I find with purple shampoo any conditioner pulls out more of the color/toner that is in the shampoo than I would like.

Hey Abbey! Great content. I love applying hair oils :) I watched your olaplex N3 video and I am really interested in trying it out for my color damaged hair. Would you recommend applying hair oil the night before hair wash day even if you are going in with the Olaplex N3 on the hair wash day? TIA! :)
Thank you for the video! Your hair is BEAUTIFUL! We have the same type of hair. In the video, you said two drops of each oil... did you mean two droppers full? Thank you! I’ve ordered everything! Brush, scrunchies, and ALL! 💕💕💕
Abbey, I follow your routine advice and product recommendations. I use the Pureolody strengthening shampoo and conditioner and the leave in spray. I love how my hair feels and looks BUT now I'm facing static... a lot of it. Do you have a recommendation on handling this?
This happened to me because all the silicones in it. The conditioning ingredients cant penetrate so you get super dry hair and static. Clarifying shampoo and mask when it happens then continue on per usual till you need to clarify again.
Just curious do you ever use a more clarifying shampoo? I’m on my third week of only washing once a week and thought maybe that would be a good idea every other wash to prevent build up? Also do you use dry shampoo?
I don’t have a clarifying shampoo! I find my double shampoo method works well enough for me. I do! Check out my hair training video I review quite a few dry shampoos (czcams.com/video/B7uzrfk1YpE/video.html)
I have used the colour fanatic spray and find that it does leave some build up near my roots. Even after one use. Is this because my hair is low porosity?
Abbey! I have a question for you. I’ve heard it’s not best to comb wet hair.? Because it’s more fragile when it’s wet. Is it better to let it dry damp then comb/brush through.? Or to just come when wet.. I seem to loose a lot of hair when I wash my hair as well as some when I comb through it wet even though I’m super gentle.. TIA.
Wow you look like an entirely different person without your eye makeup and your hair wet 😲 thx for your great video. Such a long hair wash process. I’m so lazy but I need to motivate myself. Been binging your videos for the past few days . Love your channel 🌸
I always wash my hair and do my tanning routine on the same day! I also dry my hair kinda the same way that you do haha! Do you always use conditioner too when you're using a hair mask?
Awesome video abbey🤩 would it be okay to just choose and use two out of the 3 oils from TO you mentioned? Do you find some of Them more moisturizing than the others?
I would really like to know this as well. Also, do you think it is important to use both a mask AND a conditioner? I am hoping to use one or the other, not both. Another great video Abbey! Thanks so much!
Yay so glad you think so! Definitely fine to just use 2. I’d say you can skip the Squalane! I didn’t start using that until recently main my because I didn’t want to waste it
I’ve found it makes a big difference for me to use oils, mask & conditioner since I only use these products 1x a week! Not necessary every wash day if you’re washing more than that
I was wondering if your have tried the Md Solar Science Beauty Balm SPF 50 or anything from their line?☺️btw love your videos and your reviews! It helps me decide what to get thank you so much!💕
Hi Abbey! I know this is an older video but I'm having so many problems with my hair. It's so greasy but my scalp is so flaky, and it gives so much itching. I looked at the ordinary salicylic acid scalp treatment but I don't know how to make a routine where the acid won't dry me out.
Abbey Yung yes and would love a review! I hear the Redken is great. There is also a L’Oreal one and a few other companies have them. I want to know what all the fuss is about!

What is your opinion about Kerastase? :) and more specifically about the "Kérastase Nutritive 8H Magic Night Serum
"?
Just curious do you ever use a more clarifying shampoo? I’m on my third week of only washing once a week and thought maybe that would be a good idea every other wash to prevent build up? Also do you use dry shampoo?
I don’t have a clarifying shampoo! I find my double shampoo method works well enough for me. I do! Check out my hair training video I review quite a few dry shampoos (czcams.com/video/B7uzrfk1YpE/video.html)
I have used the colour fanatic spray and find that it does leave some build up near my roots. Even after one use. Is this because my hair is low porosity?
Just found your channel, LOVE your content! New subbie :)
Aww yay welcome! So glad to have you here ♥️
TIA.
Do you use a chelating shampoo specifically for hard water buildup? If so, which one?
Wow you look like an entirely different person without your eye makeup and your hair wet 😲 thx for your great video. Such a long hair wash process. I’m so lazy but I need to motivate myself. Been binging your videos for the past few days . Love your channel 🌸
Hello, could you do a review of the gisou honey hair mask? I've heard so many people rave about it but I'm not sure it's worth the price!
I always wash my hair and do my tanning routine on the same day! I also dry my hair kinda the same way that you do haha! Do you always use conditioner too when you're using a hair mask?
Omg we both have busy hair wash days 😂 I do!
@@AbbeyYung it's like an all day event haha!
Do you need a conditioner and hair mask? I thought a hair mask was just a more intense conditioner
So how do you incorporate the k18 repair to this routine? :)
Not necessary every wash day if you’re washing more than that
Abbey Yung TY for answering🥰 haha I actually started using the Squalane Oil resently also cause I didnt want to waste it😅
Makes sense :-). Thanks for your thoughts.
Any suggestions for dry scalp
I just brought no 6 olaplex is it good bad. I want volume etc healthy
I was wondering if your have tried the Md Solar Science Beauty Balm SPF 50 or anything from their line?☺️btw love your videos and your reviews! It helps me decide what to get thank you so much!💕
When you double shampoo are you using two different shampoos or the same one?
Omg I loveee your makeup
Thank you ♥️ one of the fragrance free foundations I reviewed in my recent video! My favorite highlighter right now is Ofra Rodeo Drive
Hi Abbey! I know this is an older video but I'm having so many problems with my hair. It's so greasy but my scalp is so flaky, and it gives so much itching. I looked at the ordinary salicylic acid scalp treatment but I don't know how to make a routine where the acid won't dry me out.
I'm so sorry to hear that! I would recommend seeing a derm for those concerns
Hey Abby
I love your content can you do a review on the brand Aussie
I’m so glad to hear that! I’ll look into it 😊
Can I use ordinary moroccan argan oil on scalp ?
VERY INTERESTING VIDEO!!
😊
Hey guys, let's play the drinking game.
Take a drink when this lady says "hair" and see how it goes))))
P.S
thanks for the tips
You look very beautiful without make-up.
any longtime subscriber know if she tried the moroccan oil brand of shampoo and conditioner yet?
So you use your scalp scrubber on a freshly shampooed scalp and not whilst your hair has shampoo in it? Do you feel like it gets tangly that way
I’ve done both! No tangles for me since I’m just focusing on my scalp
Which shampoo do you use first Pureology or Oleplex? Thanks!
No specific order!
Do you use silicone?
What shampoo do you use
❤️ the water filter. Repeat comment, but I really like it. 😉
Yay!!
Have you used a split end product ? Also do you double shampoo every time?
Most of my conditioning sprays help with split ends! Yes I do
Try Georgette klinger
I’ll look into this!
On the days when you don't wash your hair, do you still get it wet or not?
No because the water where I why I don't wash more
Have you tried any of the lamellar waters? I keep hearing buzz & curious if you have used any?
No! Need to check this out
Abbey Yung yes and would love a review! I hear the Redken is great. There is also a L’Oreal one and a few other companies have them. I want to know what all the fuss is about!
What do you ask for when you get a haircut? Do you have Layers
I do! I ask for face framing and for the short piece to fall right below my chin
Do you get other layers or is it one length
