For years I avoided Olaplex bc the cost scared me and I’ve always believed in more natural haircare. But ever since I’ve used bleach nothing has helped me maintain and/or grow my hair like Olaplex has. It’s a game changer.

A few things that actually helped to control my hairfall include: (1) I discontinued wearing ponytails because it leds to tension breakage. (2) I began massaging my scalp twice a week with liitleextra cocoonnion hair oil while leaning forward & holding my head upside down to allow blood flow to the scalp. (3) Protecting my head while moving out to safeguard my hair from pollution. (4) Using soft shampoo again from liittleextra only to cleanse my hair.

I have actually seen positive changes in both shine and hair fall control thanks to liittlllextra cooconnion oil. The water here is hard and it’s important to nourish hair and scalp with the right ingredients. This oil does just that. I’m eager to try their newly launched reeactivate hair serum.

I know this is an old video, but for anyone else who watches this 18 months later and wonders:
Satin is a weave style while silk is a fiber. So you can have satin in a bunch of different materials (i.e. silk blends, polyester, nylon, etc). I think since silk is a natural material it is more absorbent than some synthetic materials, so satin fabrics made with those synthetic materials will be less absorbent than satin made with silk. I don't know that it's enough to make a noticeable difference since silk already is much less absorbent than something like cotton (silk is moisture-wicking and temperature regulating). I find silk to be more breathable than satin made with synthetic material. Silk is also hypoallergenic and antimicrobial. Satin made with synthetic material is often much cheaper than silk and you don't have to worry about getting synthetic material satin falsely advertised as silk. Silk also crinkles and wrinkles easier than synthetic material satin, so there are definitely pros and cons for both.
I use a silk pillowcase and a synthetic material satin bonnet (BUT, if it's not double lined, make sure you wear it inside out if you go satin. Satin will have a shiny side and a dull side, it's the shiny side you want touching your hair but they always make synthetic material satin with the dull side on the inside for aesthetics). I toss and turn so much at night that I also wear my hair in a loose braid (secured with a silk scrunchie) and then tucked up in my bonnet Often times my bonnet falls off at night from my movements, and if my hair is just loose in the bonnet it will become so knotted the times my bonnet falls off.

I live in Scotland and all our water comes from the mountain run off (obv treated and filtered through). The water is so natural and clean, no chemicals, and my hair literally flows like silk after washing it!! When I stay over night in the city and use the water there, I instantly recognised the difference. Hair feels more like straw after cleaning on hard water. Ew.

I actually grew my hair long and donated 18 inches of it to a company that makes wigs for children with cancer. She is absolutely right. Not shampooing your hair really does help increase the length of your hair. But because I am a hijabi (muslim woman who covers her hair for modesty), it was easier for me to train my hair since nobody sees my hair outside. But for the women who dont cover their hair can wear a wig while training their hair. I hope the tip helps.

Tip from when I went to dermatologist for the problem with the oily hair: wash your hair for 2 weeks straight with only water everyday, massage your scalp gently and then dry it and massage your scalp with a towel (dont use a normal towel cause its very damaging, use a soft towel or even paper towels), the massaging will absorb all the sebuum and oils. During this 2 weeks dont use nothing on your hair other than water (and the towels ofc). My hair was getting greasy really quick and after this treatment it completely changed and i could wash my hair once a week without problems

I grew my hair from collarbone length to past my elbows. It took a long time, but I cut out using heat appliances on my hair and stopped going to the salon. My guy got me a wide tooth comb, and I use that to comb out my hair after a shower, I don’t use a brush on my wet hair as that causes breakage. I use the same type of towel as you, I have a yellow and aqua color one. The other thing that helped keep my hair in good shape was my guy gave me micro trims every ten weeks. He did the full sectioning and let my hair down in 1/2” increments to trim each layer to remove split/damaged ends to reduce breakage. The amount that he took off was barely noticeable. He was fully supportive of my long hair journey, unlike the scissor happy stylists that just want to cut. A friend of mine who is a hairdresser stopped over to visit when I was getting my ends trimmed and watched intently. She commented that he wasn’t taking off very much and that my hair is so thick that it needs to be thinned out. I was very happy that it was my guy doing my hair and not my friend the hairdresser. My guy would never use a razor or thinning shears on my hair. Here is how he does my trims. m.czcams.com/video/7ixwCfku3fY/video.html
I use olive and argan oils on my hair and I wear my hair in different braids. I have my hubby give me French, Dutch, fishtail, side, wraparound, three and four strand braids. I get compliments on my hair in the different braids and people ask how I do them. So it does take time and effort to grow long, beautiful hair, but I am definitely a long haired lady and I have no plans to ever cut my hair off, and If I ever did, my guy would talk me down from it rather than grab the shears and cut it all off.

    • @kerihatgirl8990
      @kerihatgirl8990 Před 2 lety

When he was giving me a trim the first time, I told him that I had wanted to grow my hair long but it wouldn’t. I had wanted to grow it to my knees, but when it got to wear I was beginning to sit on it, I told him to cut it to my elbows. He did as I asked, and when I saw how much was coming off, I got upset, but it was exactly what I asked for. Women can decide for themselves that they want long hair, and usually it is other women that are jealous of it, and try to use the excuse that you only have long hair because of your husband.

I am 61 and from the South. So, I went to Charm School (yes, yes I did - I still have the book!). We were taught to lather twice, so that is what I have always done. I have never washed my hair everyday. For many years, I washed every couple of days, and for the past decade or more, I've been washing once a week. Sometimes I will wash twice a week, usually in the summer when it's very hot. Second day hair are always my best hair days! I also do a weekly hair mask. Sunday is my self care day and I will put it on early in the day, put on a shower cap, and wrap it in a warm towel. At a minimum I leave on for 30 minutes, but I try to leave it on for several hours. I make my own masks, mixing different oils depending on what my hair needs. Recently, I started doing a monthly scalp scrub. It has made a huge difference in the overall health of my scalp and hair. Lastly, as part of my nightly routine, I give myself a 5 minute scalp massage. I somethings use hair growth serums, but mostly it's just a "dry" massage.

If your hormone levels and genetics are different than that persons than your experience will not be the same! Biotin and coconut oil on damaged ends! And make sure you are having blood work done to check ur hormone levels! You do not want to use drug store products mainly bc they can be tampered with and some have ingredients that you don’t want in your hair hence the reason they didn’t make it to a professional level...when it comes to shampoo and conditioner I do love pureology and so do all my clients but results may not be the same for everyone

I used to do that, although I would saturate my hair root to tip in coconut oil, and leave it all in for a week. At night I would wrap my hair up in a silk scarf, putting it up, wrapped around all of my hair. I know, that is gross, but it worked for me, especially since I was single at the time, and no body had to see my stringy, greasy coconut oil covered hair, lol! You don't have to do this, but it REALLY made my hair healthier, and a million times shinier after I washed all the oil out--I would shampoo my hair twice like her as well. Maybe you could find a similar trick as me, but one that would not leave your hair stringy and greasy like mine was from the coconut oil--maybe just using a deep conditioner that you can spray on the hair, like she says, doing that daily or every other day. Anyway, that's my spiel. Hope this helos. :)

What I’ve learned is to never wash your hair period. Throw your shampoo in the garbage! I wash my hair every 2 weeks! I soak my hair in coconut oil for 30 minutes, expose to sun for better results.
Thoroughly rinse it with COLD water. Pat dry never use a blow dryer, when your hair is somewhat still damp take a really good maintenance conditioner. I alternate between redKen and bio silk hydration. I mix half & half with coconut oil. Scrunch it in and cold wash again.
Let it naturally dry on its own! Don’t use a tow at all, just pat dry if you have too. Never use a hair dyer either. Throughout the week I use a natural dry shampoo.
    Good luck.

On a side note: A warning about Loreal’s 8 second “Wonder Water”. It worked beautifully the first time I used it, but shortly thereafter caused extreme brittleness, leading to hair breakage. Apparently, many people have experienced the same devastating result.

One tip to have less damaged hair is to literally never put it back or up, no hair ties, scrunchies, nothing. The only time you would have to is to wash your face, and I use a headband, and just stuff the hair under it. I know it is weird, and takes some getting used to, but I notice a clear difference in my hair now that I don't put it back. I know you will want to put your hair up for exercising, but don't. Again, that will be weird at first, but you get used to it after a while. Also, only brush your hair from bottom to top, by starting with the tangles closest to the bottom of your hair, slowly working your way to the top. These are my cheap to free tricks. I am really poor, so I can't afford to buy all the things that she has for her hair in this video, so I am going to try to find a cheaper alternative--like drug store alternative version to this video. I won't be making a video about it, but can get back to you on what I find, and the results that I get, if you like. All the best, and good luck with your hair endeavors! :)

Also, I always rinse at the end with water mixed with apple cider vinegar and it keeps my hair so soft and frizz free, love it! My hair is just collar bone length but I do have highlights so I have to treat it very gently. Moroccanoil smoothing lotion is my holy grail. I’m using Pacificas Pineapple Curls shampoo and conditioner and I really don’t even need to deep condition all the time like I used to but Amika makes great masks as do the Macadamia line. Fantastic. I’m here to break things off you are both right and wrong… first girl is right, if you don’t eat well your hair won’t get as much nutrients as it needs, it will not grow any slower because of that, what happens is because there’s not many nutrients to fill the hair it will go slightly thinner, no big deal if you don’t have bleached or relaxed hair, but if you do it will became more prone to damage, especially if there is any other hair thinning factors involved like age hormones smoking product buildup or even a slow blood flow, the second girl is also right, a well balanced diet matters A LOT, however that is not so true when you are “young”, after your mid 30’s it becomes an essential step, ofc genes matter a lot, it’s all a matter or try and error, that said, a well balanced diet never hurt no one, it makes wonders actually, not just for the hair but also for your eyes, skin, liver, gut, nails and everything we care for, and using products to enhance the health we already have, let it be in the hair or any other body part always is better than using products to fake having health…

I found out that amino acids are amazing for our hair. I found Queen bean shampoo and hair butter, stuck with it for a few months and now my hair is looking a bazillion times better

Yep, pureology has been a game changer for me. Without it I couldn’t do it.

Fun fact! L’Oréal everpure has the same formula as the pureology shampoos and is way cheaper! It just has different scents and a few other ingredients in the specialty types! I highly recommend trying it out since L’Oréal owns pureology and they are all made in the same factories, my brother actually worked there and made the shampoo so we got the inside scoop lol

Raechel oh wow, cool. I know I tried one salon brand by L’Oréal but it didn’t do good for my hair. But if there’s a version that is as good as pureology then take my money!

Not to be that person, But silk is a fiber and satin is a type of fabric with a specific weave structure that can be made from different fibers such as silk or poly. Most satin you buy is mostly likely poly because silk satin is much pricier but it feels like butter.
And p.s. I have slept with satin pillowcase sense I was 3, I have had a lifelong love affair with satin.

I would love to hear more about how you got your into a routine of not beeing washed that often. Also, what would you recommend for hair gel, mousse, or spray to keep your hair more manageable? I seem to suffer with a lot of frizz.

I will definitely do more hair videos! I don’t have frizz problems because my hair is pretty flat so I don’t use gels & mousses!

The best thing ever is when a woman knows how to take care of herself. She didn't have to spend hundreds of dollars to make herself feel beautiful. Beautify can be done at home. I especially love the simplicity well nurturing look. 💖
