Technically the Wii VC version of SMB does have savestates? When you exit out of the game and open it again it’ll start where you left off when you open it again

The FDS SMB1+SMB2J disk is interesting. From what I recall, in the original SMB2J you needed to flip to side B around World 4 or 5. I'm guessing in later prints they managed to fit the whole thing on one side of the disk? Either way pretty cool!
You never needed to flip the disk in SMB2J! Everything is on one disk side and the game simply needs to load additional data when you enter World 4.

This is the first time I've heard of the Super Famicom Box and I'm hoping someday that the BIOS for it gets dumped so the original sprites featured can be perserved.
The BIOS has already been dumped! It just takes extra effort to emulate it lol

That's quite a lot of times, even more than me, and I've paid for it quite a few times! Famicom x2, FDS, PAL NES x2, All Night Nippon SMB, All Stars, Super Mario Collection (JP All Stars), SMB Deluxe x2, NES Classic (GBA), Famicom Mini (GBA), Wii Virtual Console, 3DS eShop (as an ambassador game) and Wii U eShop. So fifteen in total. I also have the Retrozone unofficial NES port of VS SMB, but that doesn't count as it's unofficial. Another version I'm not counting is the 3DS eShop release of SMB Deluxe. Even though I have it, I didn't pay for it. I got it for free from Nintendo as a reward for setting up a NNID account early.

another note. super Mario bros is in Animal Crossing for GameCube, you can't technically play it without cheats (though someone has made an e-reader dotcode for it, so you can play it on an unmodified GameCube without action replay.), but it's still there.
My answer would be none, even though I did own the carts for NES orginal (with Duck Hunt) and the Super Mario Allstars. But the first was a gift (along with my NES), and the second was a trade of a gift (NBA Jam for SMAS. I'd gotten bored playing single player.)
I didnt really start buying games until the N64. And, by the time of the GBA, I discovered flashcarts.
i bought smb on 3ds vc (i changed accounts because i thought you needed to in order to change mii and i didnt realise i could just edit my mii so i dont have it anymore that sucks but whatever), vs super mario bros on switch, nes classic (which i sold), super mario bros and super mario all stars on nso and the game and watch which has been lost ever since i moved house
imagine paying for a game 202 thousand times instead of just playing the game on the thing you bought it for

Great video, but I personally believe that it’s better for companies to constantly re-release their games available for purchase, then do what they do with GameCube games and other games never making them able purchase again Nintendo would lose most of their piracy if they just continued releasing older titles or just making them be transferable

I dont think that you paid for all those, you probably bought them used. So you paid maybe one original license, and the other ones you bought used, so you did not pay Nintendo for the copy but someone else did.
