3 Steps to Cut Biracial Hair at Home

If you're cut mixed hair at home, you've clicked on the right video. I'll show you my easy, but thorough 3 step process on a basic girls trim, the mixed hair products I used, and explain why and how I trimmed my daughter's mixed race hair at home. In this video, I'm sharing the steps I took in cutting my daughter's hair for the first time in five years.
As stated many times in the video: I am NOT a professional. However, growing up with naturally curly hair almost identical to my daughter's mixed hair (minus the color), I felt comfortable enough to trim her curly hair at home. If YOU do NOT feel confident in doing the same, please go to a trusted curly hair care professional with experience in mixed race hair care and curly hair.
Be very specific in what you are asking for, and monitor the stylist. Speaking from experience, the only time my mom took me to a salon for a trim (1 inch), the hairstylist cut off 2-3 inches and added layers which made my curly hair shorter.

You should hold the hair against her back and use the first section as the guide for the rest. Don't point cut curly hair as it will look scraggly and ruin the shape of the curl.
Hairdresser here.
It really needed the cut. Will be so much easier to work with now.

That's honestly why I did this by myself, because I originally looked into devacut for a hot second...but didnt want to spend the money, wasnt sure if they would chop her hair off, and I wanted her hair to be even (regardless of straight or curly). That's amazing that you have twin girls! I've always wanted twins lol.

I found mine of amazon. Just look for hair cutting shears. I'm not sure if the ones I chose are still available. Avoid conair. Make sure you feel 150% positive in doing so.
