Hi, my name is Rouba - welcome to My Food Journey! I'm not a chef, I'm a self-taught home cook. What I love most about Middle Eastern cuisine is how forgiving and rustic it is, so you don't have to be an expert to make something delicious! Here on my channel, I’ll show you how easy it can be to whip up a delicious Middle Eastern meal at home using just a handful of ingredients that you already have in your fridge or pantry. You can also find all of my recipes with step-by-step guides on my website: roubashahin.co...

This is my favorite! Usually my mom adds the ghee or butter with the hummus cause we like the yogurt cold so the butter doesn't harden. I love how you garnish!

Do u store tahini at room temperature or in the refrigerator?
room temperature
Got to be the only Fatteh recipe in the world without the key ingredient, lemon juice!
no lemon in mine but it's tasty with lemon too. I love the creaminess of the yogurt in my fatteh
Have you tried it with Crisco shortening instead of butter? It’s really good!
We used to be able to buy crisco shortening here in Adelaide but not anymore. I has a delicious flavour
Where is the garlic and lemon juice?
Hi Sybil, the recipe definitely has garlic and I always add more. As for lemon juice, I actually love Fatteh creamy so I don't add
what i don't understand is when i buy the delicious fatteh from the lebanese retaurant, it's really warm. part of the reason this dish is appealing and soothing is because it's warm to eat. but when i make it at home, the yogurt is cold and when i try and warm it, it separates.
rouaba did not warm her yogurt either. the chickpeas were the only warm element but that's not going to warm the yogurt.
that's a great point!. My chickpeas are usually hot and I leave them simmering until I'm about to assemble. but the tip for you is to take the yogurt out of the fridge at least 2 hours before you use it. It will be at room temperature. And of course when you butter and ghee when drizzled at the end is hot. You want your fatteh to be warm. Try that and Let me know. I hope that helps ❤
How to make tahini??
I buy it 😄. tahini is simply ground sesame seeds.
Plz also mention the quantity of all ingredients
full recipes with quantities are available here for you to print roubashahin.com.au/middle-eastern-food/
Can you make and put together the night before so I can use for suhoor
prepare all element but mix just before you eat otherwise it will be soggy
Thank you
U use mayonise.plz mention other ingredients
no yogurt. here's the recipe. roubashahin.com.au/2019/02/12/chickpea-fatteh/
you were able to make a 10 min video just to show how to put chickpeas and yogurt into the same plate? impressive.
