I react to the opening scene of the preview which is focussed on Toranaga meeting his half brother Zataki who has sided with Ishido and Toranaga being given the option of going to Osaka and giving in to the council or surrendering. I also give my theories and predictions on what it means for the Battle of Sekigahara, Crimson Sky and episode 7.

Maybe in season 8 or 9 Toranaga will traped at osaka castle and mariko will be death, anjin will back to Edo and make navy and many ship to help in battle after. But first toranaga will lose and back to Edo because toranaga army outnumbered by ishido and companion. But when second battle they will meet in middle in sekigahara where ishido will be betrayed by wings formation of toranaga half brother. To kill lord sugiyama on right flank, and toranaga will push middle to catch ishido

Checked with the shogun red trailer. The white samurai is his half brother (eita okuno who is playing saeki nobutatsu)......he is also present in the photo with Mariko in taiyo's hall

Read the book folks, the whole thing is people debating what toranaga is really up to. At the very end you see things from toranagas point of view and he reveals what he actually had been up to the whole time, all his deceptions, and what he plans to do in the future. It's one of the best last chapter epilogue's I've ever read. I hope the shows last episode has that kind of mic drop reveal.
Toranaga-sama will recruit his brother, then with Anjin Hatamoto's (Blackthorne) help will take Osaka Castle by using the tactics Blackthorne teaches & trains them in, by using ships with the cannons to punch a hole through the castle's defences in the rear, PLUS shoot up a couple of levels of the castle for the fear factor effect.
if you watch the red band trailer, he is in there. He is Toranaga's brother and he joins him in the fight. He says he can't wait to spill blood by his side" meaning he can't wait to fight alongside Toranaga.
Take a look at the helmet of the warrior from the beginning. there were only 2 warriors who wore this sort of helmet during that time in real timeline. 1. Maeda Toshinaga, if it is him, he might represent Lord Sugiyama's son that now joins Toranaga. 2. Katō Kyomasa, was a brave warrior daimyo who served Tokugawa.

Seems like the castle may be too far from the shore for guns on the Erasmus to reach them. Given they had to take a trek thru the woods to get to the harbor. They will probably have to be carried onto the shore and they will be a huge game changer for Toranaga's army. My guess is that Ep 7 will be the prep for the climatic battle that will happen in Ep 8 or 9. We might even see the Christian regents switch sides to back Toranaga once they see what the bureaucrat will do to them if they disagree with him.
Remember, Tokugawa resigned the Shogunate as early as possible...
Toranaga/Tokugawa was originally from Western Japan. He was uprooted by Hideyoshi and moved to Edo to isolate him. It ended up putting him far enough away from Osaka that he was left to his own devices. He also declined to commit men to the invasion of Korea which hurt Hideyoshi/Ishidas power in the end.

Crimson Sky is a feint, he cannot do it with all the families being held hostage by Ishido. He is going to send in one soldier to bring the "guests" out of Osaka Castle.

No he is not. He will ask toranaga to surender which is toranaga will not and always stay in eastern until battle of sekigahara when Ishido come from west to East, and they will battle in the center, in sekigahara
if Toranaga wants to be Shogun, it's not because he wants to be; he doesn't necessarily want the glory or the risk . . . it's more likely because he thinks he has to be . . . he genuinely doesn't believe anyone else is in position to be, for Japan's sake . . .

Like the real Tokugawa Ieyasu he rised in power, had ambitions, planed against the heir of Taiko. He wanted the power and waited for the best moment (it took he more than 20 years)
I believe this is his brother in the novel they where at odds with each other thru 70 percent of the book with his brother only agreeing to help at literally the last second seems like the writers had to fast forward a bit which is perfectly fine hopefully the last two episodes will be longer and includes the best stuff we shall see👍❤️🔥🤞🏼

I really hope Mariko doesn't die, especially after seeing those Ninjas in the trailer. If I remember correctly, in the novel she dies saving John/Anjin from the Ninjas which become a major turning point in his character development. It's not stated in the novel but I think John ends up with Fuji. There was a character stated in James Clavell sequel novels where the protagonist meets a character who is stated as "a japanese who has blue eyes tells them, they are the child of a navigator from a western country". Invincible did it with Rexplode changing the story a bit and preventing him from dying in the series, hope they do it here as well.

I'm concerned about the difference between Nagakado's actual lines and the subtitles in the promo. He says, "Have you decided your mind? Will we fight with our sword covered in blood?" But the subtitles read, "What have you decided? Do we die with blood on our sword?" Then Toranaga's line follows. "There's no future for some of us." Doesn't it indicate Nagakado will die?
In real history, Tadayoshi, Ieyasu's 4th son, was injured but didn't die in the battle of Sekigahara. But as a show, Toranaga can lose his son as a price for his victory.
Everything is perfeft but why so much rain and blue filter and dark image.ahaha the 80s show was way more bright and Japan is not that humid

It’s obviously his brother. And no, Toranaga does not want the title of Shogun. The ruler before he died offered Toranaga the title of shogun until the heir came of age and Toranaga declined but ishido and lady Ochiba are giving him no choice but to take it now. But when it comes to getting followers he needs to continue the act of not wanting it even though now he needs to take it. Showing the people you are selfless is the best way to gain followers
Toranaga literally said there’s the heart you show the world, the heart you show your friends and family, and the heart you keep to yourself no matter what.

So i am kinda curious wich char on the show are based on historic char and wich are not. For example Kashigi Yabushige could be a bit based on Date Masamune like Date Masamune loyalty were always really questionable same goes for Kashigi Yabushige and both people were promised or were given land (Date Masamune) by Yoshii Toranaga (Tokugawa Ieyasu)
It is Mariko's sacrifice that will be the game changer for Toranaga. Sorry for the spoiler.
You could just read the book.
Yes... I have been saying, for weeks, that, in the best possible option, it is better to read the book first... Then watch the 1980 version in full... Then watch the 2024 version... It has become very clear, so far, that, BOTH the 1980 and 2024 versions, have trimmed out a LOT of the book story... If viewers had read the book first, then it would be obvious where the short-cuts have been made....
The other guy is his brother...
