As a French practitioner of Savate, in Korea you have understood and assimilated very well the spirit of Savate and its different forms: Assault, Combat, Canne, Defense! Well done. 👏🙏👍
Oh I’m so glad our national martial art has some practitioners in Korea. Even french stick is known ! I hope we will see you at the Paris-Bercy Martial arts Festival guys ! You will teach me Savate and I will show you my performance in Taekkyon I studied 1 year !
Everytime i watch savate fights or training it always reminds me taekwondo... i praticed taekwondo for 10 years and 90% of these kicks is samething than taekwondo. Almost twins MA.
thank you so much for loving savate, sharing this wonderful video. I am french and very glad. Wonderfull sport and your technique is very impressive !
Came here because of Lee Chaolan from Tekken game (he looks have some savate moves too). Never knew this martial art before, It looks amazing! Really good video.
Great video! I sometimes teach Savate Fórme, which is the "cardio kickboxing" version of La boxe française but I'm not nearly as skilled as these dudes. Anyway I love the sport. For some reason, it's the kickboxing art which I've always found the most interesting and beautiful :3
LOL, In the U.S. They wouldn't even know it is French...They would assume...it is an Asian discipline without giving it a second thought. Sorry to disappoint you.
In terms of which form of kickboxing you’re referring to, I’ll assume American. Savate and American Kickboxing are very much the same in terms of that you can only use the feet to perform kicks as opposed to other kickboxing styles that prefers shin kicks. Savate allows low kicks and sweeps where kickboxing does not. In terms of how they are applied, Savate is a more patient martial art and is generally the one letting the opponent make the mistakes first before punishing them. As opposed to American Kickboxing which is more focussed on explosive power to finish a match. Hope that helps!
It differs from the kicks. Savate uses shoes and you're supposed to kick with the foot, although shin kicks are tolerated nowadays. I'm kickboxing, you're barefoot and you mostly hit with the shin. For the hands, they're exactly the same.
Yes that's correct:skills and technics are similar but as you wear shoes, you're not allowed to strike with tibia, only with foot. Consequently fighting distance is a bit more far than KB. Additionally, savate is more based on movement whereas KB is more looking for power in impact. This is the reason why rounds are 2 min long vs 3 min in KB. Having that said, lot of Savate champions moved to KB for financial purpose (no professional league in savate) meaning the two disciplines are fully compliant. The best current example is probably Anissa Meksen. Regards from France
Savate was a street fighting skill and form of self defense. It seems to target the joints and vulnerable areas of the body. It also seems to use extra moves to create an opening for a critical strike. It looks exciting.
Rules. Head kicks 3 points. Body kicks 2 points, punches regardless to the face or body and leg kicks are just 1 point. No elbows, no knees no low blows allowed.
They may very well have a background in those too. If they have martial arts in South Korea as foreign as Capoeira then I don't see why they wouldn't have Savate.
Mostly because people prefer MMA or Muay Thai because it’s more violent and apparently “more accurate to an actual fight”. A lot of people gravitate towards other styles because of flashiness or violence these days instead of enjoying sports as sports which is sad.
As a French practitioner of Savate, in Korea you have understood and assimilated very well the spirit of Savate and its different forms: Assault, Combat, Canne, Defense! Well done. 👏🙏👍
Bonjour.
Oh I’m so glad our national martial art has some practitioners in Korea. Even french stick is known ! I hope we will see you at the Paris-Bercy Martial arts Festival guys !
You will teach me Savate and I will show you my performance in Taekkyon I studied 1 year !
Savate probably the coolest looking martial arts when it comes to combination of kicks and punches.
It has so much swagger in it.
Bruce Lee did alot of Savate and added some kicks to jet kune do
Beautiful vidéo ! Well done. 👍🏻
Savate Boxe Française 🇫🇷since 1832, in only 9 years it will be 2 centuries old 😊
Everytime i watch savate fights or training it always reminds me taekwondo... i praticed taekwondo for 10 years and 90% of these kicks is samething than taekwondo. Almost twins MA.
When I think Savante, I think of Sanji Vinsmoke from One Piece
Very good video. As a former savate tireur, I appreciate the way you show our national art.
Thank you.

I am really surprise that you practice the canne in korea, because even in France very few people practice it... OO'

you can use your hands in savate? how does it differ from kickboxing?

Sooo this video is Korean?
That’s interesting they chose to train in Savate over The Korean martial arts.
They may very well have a background in those too. If they have martial arts in South Korea as foreign as Capoeira then I don't see why they wouldn't have Savate.
Koreans love martial arts

Surprisingly Savate isn’t that popular
why is not savate more popular?

Savate 🇫🇷🇫🇷🇫🇷🇫🇷
It looks like Kung Fu without all the bullshido techniques and wasted movements. Essentially a more practical form of Kung Fu.

Flippant 😱
