I was a Tornado GR 4 pilot until 7 years ago. That could have even been me. Did lots of low flying training in the Mach loop. Great video and I love the music too

666MikeRochip thanks a lot. Yes girls can do anything if given the chance. I rose to rank of Sqn Ldr. And proud if it.nThe tornado will be retired soon which is sad but the Typhoon is next generation. Regards to NZ from UK.

666MikeRochip Thanks I worked hard to gain my wings and served in Iraq and Afghanistan before I retired. Flying is in my blood and to be a Top Gun was what I was meant to be. Great but poignant memories.

Great on board view there and good choice on the tune! I love how "Universal Nation" can be heard mixed in to the end of "1999". Must be from an old Gatecrasher compilation or MOS etc but it's completely innocent and makes me smile. Classic aircraft, classic tune, classic vid well done!

When I was off my tits on E's in the 90's music track is well suited to this sort of larking about in the hills of North Wales for fucks sake.

Geeky question: What's the purpose of the two hand controllers on each side of the rear cockpit canopy? They don't look conveniently positioned at all.

If my ageing brain serves me correctly they are for chaffing and flaring in combat roles (active grab handles), more accessible in g-manoeuvres, and trance volume/bass control in training roles :)

Pause it anywhere around1:08-1:16 and you will see the speed is between 400-450 knots or .7 Mach. This is a Tornado not a Tucano fella!
