I heard you say Northern VA, I live in Northern VA and I’m just getting into architecture so that’s wild!

I love the winged chairs and the art in the last room.

It just feels like a big box. The large windows grant views of...grass, pavement, and the sidewalk? The high ceilings don't inspire me either, I'd feel like I'm swallowed up by the space.
NoVa has beautiful seasons and I'm not seeing a celebration of that quality. Also the windows facing outwards feel like a privacy disaster. The communities out here are largely quiet and calm, but I don't recall many instances of people hanging out on balconies or porches etc all looking to wave hi at one another.
It's a nice step away from colonial style homes though. I just wish more emphasis was on embracing the suburban hellscape we inhabit by creating more secluded green spaces on the property. I would gladly sacrifice some interior living space for a modest semi enclosed or entirely enclosed courtyard. Yes it would make floorplans a bit more difficult when it comes to avg distance from room to kitchen, but what I never see in NoVa high end homes are private greenspaces with sensible transitions to indoor spaces akin to Japanese or ancient Roman courtyards/atreums. It's always big views to the generic suburbia we want to desperately escape and large windows to make us feel like we're intentionally throwing wealth on display without subtlety.

Great video! Now the music is a bit dramatic… a question of personal taste I guess.

Haha yes I just use what I can find at the moment. Music choice is a difficult part of this since many have different taste.

@@ChaudryGhafoor yes, music taste is a difficult thing. The downside in my opinion of a more "dramatic" music is that it subconciously hints towards a "climax" of the video - like some fireworks at the end or whatever, haha.
Btw I found your channel through the "make a MASCULINE home office" video. That video was awesome. I feel there is quite a need for videos like this, because, well everyone has a home office now. Not that many videos especially for guys with ideas out there. So that might be an interesting topic for you to address!

@@mattchannel7075 That's great! I'll try to work on some more things like that. The actual motivation for my channel was that I could not find enough home style/design things for men... So I'm glad someone else has noticed that as well.

@@ChaudryGhafoor Yes I noticed this! In marketing speech, there is this term called "persona" - it describes a typical customer. Based on me, this would be a persona-description: middle age, happy bachelor, income around 1.5 x to 2.5 x of the medium income in his country.
Good job in IT, can now work from home 3 days a week. Could upgrade his apartment, especially home office, could also rent/ buy a bigger apartment. Would hire a lower-cost interior designer to go shopping with.
Needs to communicate through pictures / videos how he wants the place to look and feel. Wants a masculine, upper middle class modern style....
I would assume there are 500.000 guys around the world who would fit in this target group, that are looking on Google and CZcams for ideas / inspiration. And for sure not a bad target group in terms of ad revenue. Just my 2 cents.

I'm tired of all these Contemporary homes looking like the same RECTANGLE--it's annoying ... And NOT creative.

At this point anything that escapes colonial style houses is considered spicy.
