    Hey guys! Thought I would share this info with you all. I'd Hate for you to mess up your Humvee and cause yourself more work to do like I have in the past. Since this is a common issue with the old brittle radiator fans, I would suggest replacing yours with a new one which can be found on eBay.

    Great video! 👍 awesome collection.
    One small revision I'd like to give is that the breather tube along the engine intake fordeing tube is only for the fuel tank and plugs directly into the fuel tank filter. The hubs, pumpkins, T-case and Transmission, fuel pump, etc plug into the intake at the filter. That's why there is the fording switch to reroute pressure from the CDR valve and sensor cup to create positive pressure and keep water out, it's less complicated than it sounds but the course I took was pretty through

    Try putting your shifter in park not neutral before switching to low gear.

      That one doesn’t have park, only a 3 speed transmission.

    Hohoho I'm reassured that your Humvee makes the same noises from HL to H ... it's the same for me :-) Hohoho, ich bin beruhigt, dass dein Humvee von HL zu H, die gleichen Geräusche von sich gibt ... bei mir ist es das genauso :-)

  • @thegreatmartianempire3679

    Do you have to disengage the lockers on the differentials after you engage them, or does that happen automatically?

    • @hummervs3278
      @hummervs3278 Před 2 lety +1

      His description wasn’t clear. You hold one foot on brake the entire time you need all 4 wheels driving.
      Search BTM Brake Throttle Manipulation.
      Also his idea on fan isn’t quite right. Hmmwvs meant to fore deep water have a dwf kit and there is a switch you throw that does multiple things, one of which is disengagement of fan clutch.
      You can simply add a toggle switch to do that if you don’t want to install the entire kit and have it power up the clutch solenoid to disengage fan- just don’t forget or you will overheat the engine once out of the water.

    Throttle lock should never be used for "cruise control". That "tip" is extremely dangerous since the it does not disengage when the brake is applied.

    • @DakotaWoodHD
      @DakotaWoodHD  Před 3 lety +3

      I didn’t say to use it as “cruise control”, how I explained it’s use is exactly how it is supposed to be used during water fording as stated in one of my manuals. It allows your head to be out of the water since your foot wouldn’t be able to reach the pedals.

    • @jimmac1185
      @jimmac1185 Před 3 lety

      @@DakotaWoodHD So you didn't use the words cruise control, but thats essentially what you told people to do. Just because something is in a training manual doesn't mean you should be telling someone to do it. When I was in the Marines, we were taught to use the throttle lock only when using the humvee to power a command shelter or the like. We were trained to never use it while in motion. I usually like you videos, but you could get someone killed with this. Not to mention you'll probably be sued.

      The owner wanted me to paint that texture. It actually looks very nice and isn’t completely permanent. If he wants different paint it can sand off. Not lazy at all.
