Can’t wait for the “I was wrong about the Wisconsin” video in 2 weeks
I was exactly thinking the same thing😅
The circle of life
Bungo 2: electric boogaloo
Temper temper, in this case I think it’s should be tempering the expectations for BB guns in this game.
on twitch today he was VERY unhappy with this ship..... lol
The dispersion is actually amazing for a bb.
maybe it looks like that but the actual hits arent
@@jaysonnunley6602it's mostly his aim tbh. Either too low or too high or shooting ships in the wrong places. Nebraska has practically no citadel yet he expected to get a few shooting at one. His shot in the Vlad right after was way too far forward to get many citadels.
Sigma and dispersion aren't the same.
@@riseandshinejp and wisconsin gets both
Its like the last 3 or 4 ship reviews for PQ follow the same pattern lately. He Reviews the ship initally has one solid to good game, Has one or more bad games. Says the ship isn't as good as he thought it would be based on the stats and etc. proceeds to release a " i was wrong about ( Insert Ship Name ) " Video a couple of days after the initial review
I mean to make an accurate assessment you need a larger amount of games. He's just a bit too hasty imo, he should take a longer time to have a better understanding of the ship.
well this is a first impression video, so of course he needs some time to understand how to play it before he can conclude it.
If he found it was good later on, then at least he did acknowledge that later on rather than not making one.
his expectations are unreal, if it isnt a devstrike on a broadside target he is mad
He also has unreal expectations coupled with an entirely subjective perspective on what it means to be a consistent BB.
Totoally agree with you, I think at this point he seems to be rushing videos out instead of taking his time. Overall good content, but I never truly take his opinion to heart.
PQ that last game was 215k and a kraken, your expectations exceed the limits of this game. The dispersion is great and the consistency is there. You’re not gonna dev strike every broadside you see.
i took out the montania last week and in 3 games I had 8 dev strikes. Sure 52% win rate, but I just happened to see broadside cruisers all over the place. That is why everyone likes to play BBs, now I also love to play the Marblehead and temp fate.
"your expectations exceed the limits of this game"
Say it louder!
He'll be getting 15k to 20k salvos and be like "not bad."
Like, what is he expecting? One 60k Salvo after another? Either that or he is the most blasé person I've ever seen play this game 🤣🤣🤣
@@brett76544 In 3 games 8 dev strikes ???1st case you just fight payed actors so its easy and what you say its true.2nd case you lie....I think the 2nd case its true...
He is ever craving the battleship dream, but now at the cost of other things (literally went broadside against a Kremlin close-range)
When will PQ learn..
Poor bastard.
I thought he was trying to test if he could get citted there no?
@@HailAzathoth No. He was surprised. He was convinced because he couldn't cit it, other people couldn't.
215K, Kraken, God, I'd be pissed off too! Horrible, horrible match. Time to uninstall! 🙄
@@oirvinetbf American fast battleships aren't exactly known to be citadel...
"Get _mad!_ I DON'T WANT YOUR DAMN DISPERSION, WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO WITH _THIS?!"_
Pq, you should stop putting high expectations of getting citadels on every broadside ships. Even a Slava one of the most accurate ship in the game, still cannot get a consistent broadside shot every time she fire her guns and Slava can still have wonky dispersion despite her best sigma value. Wisconsin is a solid bb and she looks pretty balanced to me. If she get too consistent, tight dispersion everytime and get all those citadels you mentioned she will too OP for the game. At least she can citadel at close range on the Kremlin and Thunderer while a GK can still miss at that range or just bounce.
Which is very frustrating imo…it’s not supposed to be mega consistent…but BATTLECRUISER dispersion with 2.0 sigma should be able to punish broadsides more consistently..
The thing is that his evaluation of a ship and what it means to be consistent are entirely subjective. He himself can't seem to make up his mind about this "consistent" concept he's constantly bringing up.
change title to "PQ slowly going mad"
I could physically feel the despair in his voice
Honestly the ship seems great. Why PQ is taking such a low hp t10 into such aggressive positions sacrificing its good conceal and speed is beyond me.
Hey PQ! Unless there's been a change I missed at 18:30 when you check the enemy Shima's torp range, I think when checking enemy modules, it shows the maximum possible value across all modules options, which would mean its possible he had 12km torps still. It should show accurate values for teammates on that inspector though.
I was gonna say something but you already got it.
I think it was the third game you wasted your F key for only one Salvo waiting for a farther ship to turn instead of your immediate threat to your front. Overall, maybe a more mid playstyle would be better. Super AP will overpen broadside cruisers.
@@guyintenn man wants his neuron activation citadel hits
He’s tilted that’s why
Super heavy AP does not overpen broadside cruisers any more than normal AP. AP overpenning is only determined by how thin citadel armor is, how fast the shells are, and how short or long their fuse is
Plays since beta, get surprised when he doesn’t dev strike every ship on the enemy team.
That's the Streamer/CC Syndrome 😂😂😂
Honestly I don't recall torpedo belts having an effect on shells way back in CBT. And a lot more citadels were raised far above what they are now. Heck, go back far enough and even DD's had large citadels.
25k on an angled kremlin with only 406mm and still complain about the dispersion. Lol
Full pen on the ice breaker. That damage is expected at that range.
PQ when he cant dev strike every broadside to ever exist ever >:((((((
The tab stats will display the best possible stats for the ship, so it looks like every Shima has 20kms and every gearing has legmod, I don’t think it considers the other stats of that module (so a gearing will show as 5.6 (legmod) detect and 90 sec (non legmod) torp reload)
I love how the coments about the ship are much more reasonable than the video
She actually looks...balanced. And solid. Which is nice. I don't remember a dockyard ship ever being OP, but some of them have been quite mediocre, like Hizen and Daisen. In particular, she really seems to be quite zippy.
i do remember a dockyard ship being OP, puerto rico?
The base ship is fine but that combat instruction seems a bit too much imo.
@@luukvst1032 not op just one of the worst dockyards ever and so its been talked about a fair bit more
@@luukvst1032I’d take my Alaska over my Puerto Rico any day, only on T10 only events will i run PR, but even then, I find myself taking ships like Salem or Yoshino instead.
Like don’t get me wrong, PR is definitely a decent ship, but her concealment is like Moskva bad, so shes almost always spotted too soon for her consumables to get proper use, plus shes just a big juicy target for any BBs on your flank.
@@luukvst1032 Nope. PR have bad dispersion and despite being a tier 10, Akaska is much better.
21:25 aims too high then blames dispersion...
BC dispersion and 2.0 sigma won't delete everything that moves broadside to you by your wish bro. It would be too OP :)
It probably should be more consistent imo, especially when you consider this is the best dispersion stat possible in game outside of Bungo.
But he used the range module which also increased dispersion in the game we need to remember that too. Without it should be better@@guohongli5727
Yeah that's it Repulse, Renown 44, Incomp, Champagne also have BC 2.0 and some games the dispersion fucks and other times its the usual bent barrel shit dispersion. I think what PQ really wants is a BB with Elbing dispersion
Let's not forget that the range module also increases dispersion, without it shells can go tighter.@@guohongli5727
@@jezzae4962 Wisconsin has better dispersion than all those ships due to American dispersion mod.
I think it will turn out to be one of the decent dockyard ships.
Iowa hull at T10 is certainly not the best. But 2.0 battlecruiser dispersion on 9 16 inch guns will make it reliable overall. I think better than Slava which suffers from bad armor.
And remember, broadside cruisers also troll the most accurate BBs. Only short fuse helps with that.
Anyone else notice the Maltaception at 11:23? Killed a Malta while sounding like Malta. _Look at the accuracy, man! Look at the accuracy! Brother..._
I think because the top armor on the citadel is 19mm (I think), its overmatchable. So the shells can pen you at the waterline and then hit the top of your citadel by the opposite side of your ship. Also since you were turning out when you got hit, that would also raise the opposite side of your ship increasing the chance that the shells hit the top of the citadel and overmatch it.
18:25
The enemy ships are always displayed with their “top” module
For some reason, it thinks that the 20km torps are the best on a shima
15:39 i believe that is indeed citadel dmg, usually citadel makes it so all sound is muffled for a few seconds so it matches
no to say that it wasn't citadel hit, but any non DoT/Torpedo damage that takes more than ~20% of total ship health causes muffled sound effect with is why even DD's get it
Citadel hits have specific visual effect (big explosion, lots of black smoke), but PQ was in binocular view when it happened
I believe that occurs whenever you take a large % of your ship HP in damage in a single hit.
Now all we need is New Jersey
NJ should be a Tier-X, Massa Secondary specs, American fast cooldown heal, engine boost, and model her off of her Vietnam Configuration. give her comparatively weak AA as she only had her 5in guns for AA at that time as a tradeoff.
Better yet, NJ as the Super Lousiana. Instead of planes just tomahawk missiles. Take away some secondaries, for historical accuracy of course
if WG made my beloved NJ a hybrid battleship like Louisiana, i will happily sue WG@@TheShinySearcher
If you assume they'll do her justice, you're just setting yourself up for disappointment. All you can hope for is it'll be something funny
Looks like the schlieffen got several citadels while you did your turn. Probably what Flamu would call "lifting the skirt" when he would describe FDG's citadel.
Ship actually seems amazing. You mentioned at the beginning "more pen", obviously expect more overpens.
Pq you are out of your mind if you think these games are anything but common. 1 cit on board side is pretty common 2 is somewhat. anymore than that is rare
11:25
Damn that was satisfying as hell bro. great shot
If you complain about this ship with that level of dispersion being inconsistent sometimes, then you must forget the old Pobeda.
Day 1 of asking Pq, to not complain about BB dispersion
you, cant exactly see what the enemy ships have in the NA/EU client, it only shows the maximum possible values, at 18:00 you see the shima has 17900, while the team member board states 21900, which is shima's highest possible HP value. I don't think it should completely say what the enemy is running and their HP until they are spotted, and then that data gets updated.
"It's hard to be extremely upset ...but I'm still extremely upset" lol I could not stop laughing for 10 minutes
11:20 Satisfying accuracy, beats Constellation.
genuine question: is a battleship only good if it hits citadels because PQ gets like 20-30 k hits wich seem pretty good?
you don't need to hit citadels to be completely stupid as a BB - See ITA BBs (Colombo w/ recent buff and Lauria) just perma spamming SAP and getting high numbers, or BBs with overmatch that don't really care about armour as much
11:25 I feel flamu's soul screaming from pq's voice
I get the frustration with the overpen/overmatch mechanic. BUT, if you read of battle like that of Samar Straits (Taffy 3), there were literally 14", 16" and 18" AP being fired passing completely through the hulls of the CVEs, even below water line, and not detonating and similar effects on the DDs and DEs. IJN commanders thought they were up against CVs and CAs, therefore only a few spots would detonate the AP of IJN BBs. So, it's historically pretty accurate. This is much less a complaint for me than the lack of fires on CVs or the tankiness of Subs.
So as some context with my experience dealing with testers that had wisky, it's more at risk of being citadelled by calibers above 406 at ranges greater than 15kms. I was citadelling a Wisconsin from about 18kms using a Shikishima, also managed to do it a few times with Monty, though not as consistently. Below that 15km range I was struggling to deal any better hits than full pens.
Day 31 of asking pq to play Worcester
o7
💪🏻💪🏻
keep it up king!
It has been 31 days. Wow😐
Based….and we’re here you!
PQ, with the dispersion and sigma, the strength of this ship is long range fire support then reposition as the opposition is reduced. And I believe a few times you were citadeled happened when you turned opening/exposing up your main deck for a direct penetration deep within the ship.
You were turning in to get your B turret off when the Schlieffen shot back at you. This causes your ship's left side to tilt up and could have lifted your citadel to waterline causing it to be hittable. The harder you turn and the faster your ship is, the higher the tilt gets.
The USS Wisconsin is a Iowa class battleship, there's 4 ships Iowa, New Jersey & the Missouri.
About the 20km shimas, the ship parameters viewer in battle only shows the "best" values for each ship. So every shima you see will say 20km.
I would really love to see WG tighten up all the vertical dispersion on all ships. This will help the consistency on boardside but dont effective angled ships or even makes angling better.
American BBs have this ricochet citadel thing where the shell hits the cylindrical turret armor beneath the deck and bounces into the 16mm top citadel armor, I think thats how you get citadeled in this thing.
This ship actually looks really solid. Pq is just tilted.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 you getting trolled every day you play this game us hilarious! 🤣
That looks like pretty sweet dispersion honestly
Ships like these - Specifically Bungo and Wisconsin, very accurate with powerful guns, you had the same reaction, the game mechanics are limiting you.
Faced one just this morning, and that ship was landing 5to9 HE shells every reload. Wisconsin is more like a Conq imo, big HE hits and a lot of healing.
I think the reason why the normal American shell is more consistent is they are slow. It is not short fuse but in long and medium range they act like it but on another side Wisconsin has faster shell which mean more pen but higher change to go thought the ship. If full salvo didn't work try single fire and don't forget to try it laser guided HE. I suggest you install the mod that show enemy angle to your ship sometime I can see you aim pretty low
He has the mod, look bottom left.
18:15, it will always show 20km for shima on the enemy team because it only shows "best possible values" as to not give away enemy build, however it always shows exactly what your own team has
Why not a gun build Mutsuki?
Would be really funny.
So I guess I should just play F key cruisers if I want to punish broadsides....
It's all about the "plunge angle" M8....
14:35 that 'citadel' sound confused me for a while too, doesn't happen often in BBs on non-citadel hits but I presume it's because of the low hp of Wisky.. You hear it when you take a big hit regardless of being a citadel or not (not including torpedo hits afaik). Not sure of the percentage threshold of hp, but you can notice it on destroyers as well when you get chunked, which obviously can never be citadelled
Saying that, it's not the first time a weird shell bounce citadelled even a bow on Preussen or GK.. Shells sometimes go funky after ricocheting, so possible it bounced off the super structure and got sent vertical into the citadel.
Respectfully, in this state of the game, I’d say that 4~5 full pens on a broadside target is considered a nice hit. Citadels are just bonuses unless it comes to those ships with exposed citadels.
18:20 It always shows the best possible value for each variable on the enemy. Funny, you're the second super unicum this week I heard get this wrong.
In my opinion any battleship that can hit things reliable at medium range is always a good one. Long range is just too much time for either your shells to go everywhere of your pen that just falls off just enough so it becomes kinda eh. If a battleship starts missing a lot at around medium range as well its bad. So perhaps you could try to create/find more opportunities at medium range. I think it might work out better.
wake up babe new pq upload
Only PQ could play one of the most accurate battleships in the game getting over 150k a game avg and complain about the accuracy. Seriously, PQ, I recommend taking the Iowa out for a spin for like 10 games and them Wisky for 10 games and compare the experience.
Poor PQ, he just can't let go.
Plunging fire is more than capable of hitting below water line citadel. Sure at 13km or less ot might be tough to cit the Wisconsin but itll gaurantee get citadel hit by plunging fire from further range.
Your Wisconsin experience reminds me of Missouri when I still played this game. Missouri was *notoriously* inaccurate for me, I've had full on broadside ships eat nothing but bounces or overpens despite everyone claiming that she is just as accurate as Iowa. My favorite was a broadside Montana at 7km, I open fire and I get TWO overpens.
On the other hand, I've splattered broadside targets 18km away with Iowa. There is definitely something going on with the consistency of the accuracy of BBs in general.
The Misery is well known for missing open goals
11:20 look at that accuracy man... LOOK AT THE ACCURACY 😂😉😂
I can't wait for Wisconsin to be released
hey PQ
The number you see tabing is the best number they can get, so every shima you check would be 20km torp
I'm not near the skill level you are In playing this game but it seems like the citadels are coming through at a front angle. Possibly 45° around the front turret.
Ok, so yes, the major weakness on this ship is plunging shots from anything over 14km away.. ships with good plunging angles will easily citadel it as the top of the citadel is less than paper. Also because top deck and top citadel combined are almost non existent armor wise, also might be susceptible to high armor pen HE, like British HE.. something I like trolling cruisers with when I am in a mood..
I uninstalled Wows a while ago, but still watch your videos. These are the exact reasons I don't play anymore. The inconsistency. Imagine playing a FPS and your headshots were RNG. I get so damn frustrated. Like Flambass said " I'd rather play Tarkov''!
This; it honestly makes no sense 1) why players still would want to play a game with a totally random damage system against other players or that CCs are being whiny when they complain about it 2) WG thought they could maintain a player base doing that.
If you think any widely played game that is competitive wouldn't lose almost its entire player base if their "damage system" switched to this level of random, inconsistent garbage you're taking dangerous levels of copium. Every shooter game alive would die overnight if headshots arbitrarily did 1% or 100% of another players health. Coop games are an entirely different matter but a COMPETITIVE game can't be competitive when you not only randomly decide who wins, but give only some ships deliberate ways to ignore the games entire damage model in an unbalanced and uncounterable way.
@@brianhum8765 I completely agree, well put.
Bungo has AP angles that can easily cit Wisconsin. I wonder if they're just slowly shifting design of citadel to make newest ships better.
Fun fact. Whiskey hit over 34 kts on speed trials. Yes the patomic was glass still, but she could have gone faster if the hull could have taken it!
That Shiki took it to church
Overpens on the citadel should do 'regular' pen damage (33%). That makes eating a full broadside super punishing because you're making yourself an easy target; even if you cowboy armor every hit in a superlight CL, 8 BB full pens is going to be most of your HP. Make it count as cit damage for repairs as well.
Overmatch needs to be nerfed "one step" across the board. 406's shouldn't overmatch CAs, and 457's shouldn't overmatch BBs. Yamato guns should be the things that overmatch BBs.
Remember the Turtle Back? Good times! There's a reason that not many of the OG greats play this dross anymore.
It is by far the most frustrating thing getting over pens on broadside ships when playing BB's. Even Scharnhorst with 11" guns over pens broadside ships
this is just a RNG game bro, better dispersion formula just means not that easily dissapointed
Dockyard ships are zero interest to me.
Aggressive build : typical PQ 😄😄
Wish i could trade it for a previous dock yard ship that i missed. I really wanted the Lushun.
i think the missions will be fine to get through, the low cost will be due to crap rewards along the way. look for lots of camos and decretive flags that have no use, i would bet we have no steel at the end less coal, and no red boosters, the research pints were already deleted for the last dockyard so they will not be in this one either. WGs pattern lately has been to nerf rewards so i fully expect this to follow the trend, the only shock is they lowered the levels we need to pay for.
it is a skill issue :) Well maybe entitlement... I seen where you were aiming on some of the shots... And you don't get a devstrike every time someone is broadside... Or you were just hungry.
It has to be played midrange but island hopping like a cruiser. Play that way instead of open water and youll be perfectly fine.
The powercreep in this game reminds me of World of Warcraft. Every update increased damage numbers until they reached a point where it didn't work anymore. Guess WG is moving that direction, too. At some point they simply might have to do a COMPLETE rework of the game. Probably not a bad idea at all.
PQ: Deletes Malta in first game.
WG: Welcome to purgatory.
play it like florida ;) Use the main gun buff for reload, ignore the consumable reload buff unless you need it to save your life. Even though you don't have a citadel, you assume everything will smash you because it will. (its a sniper)
I'll throw in my twocents: if you're complaining about overpens, it's usually because of Wisconsin's 68mm arming threshold and not hitting the cruiser's armor belt. I'd personally recommend FP and PT in your build(s). Anyways, neat video.
Main reason i prefer engagements within 14km.
Way more reliable, less RNG.
Do i die faster? Sure. But i have fun with the game, win or lose
PQ as I was watching this I've been playing the Lion and my guy, Wisconsin is good and consistent from what you showed
I thought it was clear, but you took a turn left while Schlieffen was shooting you. So you pulled your citadel out of the water. And thats how those ships get smacked.
You aimed a bit high on that yoshi as well at the last millisecond before you shot
Why, on the USS Black (and other ships off course) they can put the hull number (666), but not on the USS IOWA (BB-61) or the USS Missouri (BB-63) or the Montana (BB-67) or the now new USS Wisconsin (BB-64)?
When ap pen up they drop down in a citadel with overpen roof of cit!!
11:24 pumped up lmao
Sold. Both for historical value & exvellent dispersion (compare to other BBs. She looks to have even better dispersion than the Thunderer/St Vincent). Also, that Malta kill @11:20 gets a like from me
PQ american BB can be sit at further ranges but one close its extremely hit and miss because their citadels are so low.
Multiple 100-200k games is not nothing to write home about. It looks like it should be good over a larger sample size, so judging it for the game's poor dispersion sometimes is not the ship's fault. We could say the same about ships like Bungo or Slava when only looking at a few games. I think 95% of the player base would be fine with one citadel per salvo. I'm looking forward to this free ship!
“Full Broadside Technology”
I am 100.00% convinced this ship has an Iowa citadel, NOT an Illinois citadel. In 16 games I have received 25+ citadel hits. I have been counting. The boat is extremely easy to cit.
I got absolutely owned by one not realizing just how accurate it would be.
Temper temper!
