- Lyrics-
I'm in this prison you built for you
In this situation I don't know what to do
Can't make a connection get a reaction
There's this wall and I can't get through
You're dying some guilt with no words
What did I say what did I do
Youth hostels I lodged
Kept seeing you as a mirage
Flashesof you were everywhere
Hoboken new jersey
I'm in this prison built for you
In this situation I don't know what to do
Always something makes me think
Things dont have to be so wrong
You put up walls with nothing spoken
In your weakness you're so strong
From the peninsula. Dear friend shot himself to this. Only other person who loved Op Ivy as much as I. Miss you bro.
My first crush gave me this album... Loved that broad.
not making this up, when I was 17 I fell hard for a gutter punk chick who also gave me this cd randomly. I was into punk pretty hard core, but never bothered with the album before then since I thought Rancid was a joke. was instantly in love with it, though.
Matt Freeman, one of the best bass players of all time!
You’re one of the best bass players of all time, mate, if anyone is…
He's alright
The bassist or the dino guy? Or the bassist for RANCID?
Maybe it's someone else. Nobody goes to jail. U just get checked by TWIZTID
Still want to start a band similar to op ivy, their energy is fucking amazing and Jesse's vocals are too.
hit me up wen you're there!!!!!
Nice,I have a band called The Violence. Also my weird brothers TWIZTID.
Love this band. Hard to believe Jesse wrote lyrics like this at age 18.
He did all the album art and played sax on bad town too
Weird story. Alot of assholes were there.
Top 5 Shows I Never Got to See
Op Ivy
Ramones
Muddy Waters
Johnny Cash
Biggie
Seeing Tim, Brett and Matt as young guys would be amazing. Yeah, and Jesse I guess
such an inspiration
Had this blasting during the Hoboken level of max payne 3.
I have an emotional attachment to this song from when I was a teenager & I don't think it's a bad thing 😅 this matrix is a prison but I know what to do now thankfully
Memories of my youth...
@JimBowie1133
hell yeah, wore down plenty of decks and trucks blasting op ivy back in the day
I'm in this prison you built for you!!!
GenX heros.
Songs of my youth. Do they still make Plan B skateboards?
Haha what
Welcome to the future! You can find an answer to that and many other questions on this state-of-the-art invention called "Google."
Yes they do.
they came back around the time you made this comment
@@HipsterEatinShark ok boomer
@nymetsrock I like metal. I most definitively dig this too, though and don't see how anyone in the world couldn't. I don't know about indie and new wave, though, haha.
OP IVY > RANCID
mr pie not even
agreed
I agree
Obviously
cuz of Jessie's lyrics and vocals which are both extraordinary and actually might be the best ever in punk, each, imho
@GoatShanty funny, i actually like indie junk over metal, i was pretty excited for the new radiohead, if that counts as indie, but anyways somedays i might pop a shins cd or some rogue wave on the stereo
Is that Hoboken Jersey???
best to skate to
@nymetsrock I guess I just kinda listen to bands and sometimes I find something I like regardless of what it's labelled as, be it classical, hip hop, metal, classic rock, punk, etc. I do like a couple of indie bands. Maybe if I explored the genre more I'd find more. As for current new wave, I don't really know any. But some of the older stuff labelled as new wave wasn't half bad. Others were just plain cheesy.
Hello people I am mr 400th liked
@jumbotronicus yes
@JimBowie1133 at the same Church stairs everyday...
lmao im from hoboken.
@xplat it's hard to believe if you're not a poet.
Cigarettes and rust! Cigarettes and rust!
@BloodStainedCleavers i know how you feel.
@Casualties116 true that, all anyone listens to is metal or this new phase of indie/new wave music, its all bullshit
