- This frame was restored by a local painter and then I was commissioned to assemble it.
It presented many challenges:
-Installing the Campagnolo Delta brakes needed a fork and rear brake modification.
-Reaming and preparing the seatube
-Cleaning and threading the bottom bracket
-Modifying the rear hub

I was a mechanic at Bicycles West on Speedway BLVD in the 80's in Tucson AZ. The. best memories from that time was assembling the high end Bianchis. I recall building a Campione Del Mondo with all Super Record Pantograph, and stitched leather on the bars. This video is like a time machine for me. Love it so much!
@@CJ-6993 hey thanks for watching!
I think I may have had an out of body experience watching this build. This isn't a bike, it's a work of art.
Thanks! I hope my others videos bring you that same experience.
Wednesday I pick up a 82 atala campione del mondo I got for a steal. Can't wait to tear into it... lol
I appreciate how deliberate and patient your work is. You’re hired.😊
Love that you kept with the Down tube shifters.
I will always cherrish that feel of riding a classic bicycle.
Those brakes... Wow! Gorgeous build, thanks for sharing!
I would have added grease to the internals of the brake since it was open, as well as the crank spindle.
Lovely brakes to look at I have them on my PDM Concorde - but as Sean Kelly says they were utterly useless to modulate and a faff to set up - but boy they look good !
@@paulthorpe766 Exactly. Campagnolo gave up producing them, because they could not afford to hire the many watchmakers needed to service them. Not to mention that the big dust cap alone used as much aluminium as a whole decent caliper brake😉.
Best meditation video I have ever watched. That was magic for my soul.
Thank you! 🙏🏼
Take a look at my other build videos if you have the time. Have a great day 🙏🏼
@@AndreasIhm I have subscribed and clicked the bell. I could watch this all day.
Top of the top line, Rolls Royce of road bikes. 🤙🏼
Bianchi + Campagnolo 🔝🔝🔝👏👏👏
What an absolute work of art. Fantastic !!
My dream vintage bike I wish I had that too
You mean you want a lower end model from 79 given a weird 60s paint and chrome job then put late 80s parts on it. The video poster forgot to tell you that, LOL!
Beautiful classic Bianchi. Great specs ankd build
What a beautiful bike and great footage 👍🏼
Italian style. Top frame, great groupset... Tradition and race history!!!
Actually its a lower end model from 79 given a weird 60s paint and chrome job then put late 80s parts on it. WTF were you saying about "Tradition and race history"???
Model from '79? You better learn something about '60, '70 and '80 s steel frames. Expecially Bianchi frames.
Oh my God, that is the most beautiful thing I have seen in a long time. Thank you for this.
Absolutely gorgeous , I’ve never seen delta brakes dismantled before .
Pratiquement du ASMR. What a build!!!!!!
Great job to a great bike.we want more videos
Simply beautiful paint work striping and decals
Outstanding video! Superb build. You deserve so many more subs and views.
Beautiful and very nice shop!
Belles prises de vue!... love your closeup shots 👍
SickKKKKK!!!MasterPiece. My 1985TrofeoBianki looking at me after watching "Attention bRAH!!?" intense long tones. MasterCraftman it shows. YoThx for sharing......peace out Tejas El Chuco. YoDrop
Amazing. I would have used a brown Rolls saddle. Keep it 100% Italian, but that's just my opinion. Beautiful build!
Beautiful bike
Great build 💕
I love it. I still have one of those first-generation C-Record rear Derailleurs (friction). I had it on my 1995 TSX UL frame (Celeste, of course) I then switched over to 8 speed Chorus, Ergo.
I still ride it occasionally.
Semplicemente Meravigliosa e ottimo montaggio!!!
Amazing bike ... great channel
BIANCHI - CAMPAGNOLO. 👍👍❤
Muy elegante Bianchi 👌👍m encanta 🇵🇷!!
Very Satisfying!
Beautiful bike👍👍👍
Merci beaucoup! Tu est incroyable.
Masterpiece, bravo!
Actually its a lower end model from 79 given a weird 60s paint and chrome job then put late 80s parts on it. WTF is the master piece part???
How wonderfully thick and glossy zée paint!
you saw that too. Actually its a lower end model from 79 given a weird 60s paint and chrome job then put late 80s parts on it. The video poster doesn't mention that.
Amazing!!!
Inspiring! Thank you...
Thanks for watching
BRAVO!
A masterpiece over two wheels.
LOL! the video poster doesn't tell you that it is actually its a lower end model from 79 given a weird 60s paint and chrome job then put late 80s parts on it.
@@daveanderson718 It’s fine, anyway. A good restoration job & final result.
Beautiful frame, lovely components. Love the chrome and the polished aluminium. Yet, I have to admit that even though I hate today's trend of total integration, brake cables running under the bar tape and inside the top tube do make a bike look clean and fast. These ancient loops of "washing line" cables look weird and destracting (imo!).
Beautiful ❤️
Juste sublime velo italien 😍
Nice vid Thnks 🤩
Felicidades súper super hermosa 👏
incroyable mon vieux. skotché à mon écrant
Merci!
At 13' that is 4 Bianchis an hour this guy can build. But then the shop looks as immaculate as a vintage champion's bike fully restored.
Forget the bike, I want that shop!
Thank’s for watching.
I made the shop last year. Drawers, counters and coutertops, all by hand.
Cheers
Bellísimo
Que hermosa bicicleta
HOLY BIANCHI GRAIL 🥘🥘🥘
Its thats the holy grail, then donny trump is Jesus, LOL! Actually its a lower end model from 79 given a weird 60s paint and chrome job then put late 80s parts on it. The video poster doesn't mention that.
Maravillosa 👏👏👌👏🚴🚴👌👌
These brakes must have been engineered by NASA !!
Even Nasa would have made them less complicated. They look sensational from the outside but it takes a watchmaker's skill to adjust and service them.
@@einundsiebenziger5488 Was there any performance benefit to this design? So complicated.
Stunning frame; like a 30's Folgore. Persnickety perfectionist would not put Delta brakes, Syncro shifters and C-record groupset--all later 80's--on this earlier frame. And what's that FD? Ah well ...
You caught that as well? Actually its a lower end model from 79 given a weird 60s paint and chrome job then put late 80s parts on it. The video poster doesn't mention that.
ohhh the Delta brakes¡¡¡¡¡¡
I l I ve those mechanical calipers. Are they heavy?
5:55 Italian threads if you're going that way.
Beautiful build but excessive amount of brake cable?
I think , if I remember correctly, that the owner considered the eventual swap to hoods that would allow brake cables to run along the handlebars so I kept the housing long enough to do that eventual transformation. Thanks for watching
Stunning! What model year is this? I have one in red with the same seat stay B and the fork with the same trademark B. Thanks
Hi!
Thanks for watching.
I would have to ask the customer about the specifics.
While I was doing research before assembling the bike, I discovered many campagnolo and classic italian reference websites that had lists and methods to recognize different year/models.
Unfortunately I can’t remember from the top of my head right now.
Have a great day! 🙏🏼
Hi Bob, I’m the owner of this Bianchi. It’s a Bianchi campionne del mundo from 1981. The model used by the Belgian racing team. Cheers, Matt.
@@heptsu2883 Thank you for the reply. Mine was resprayed black and with gold splatter and was just a mess. There was red overspray inside the seat tube, top tube and on the fork tube so I had it stripped and powder coated. The components were a mix of Campagnolo and Gieppeme with victory dt shifters, Athena rear derailleur and I think the same on the front. The brakes were shimano if I remember correctly. I've tried to keep it period correct but I'm too practical to just hang it on the wall so i have it built to fit, function and be fun to ride. My biggest question is the type of tubing, everthing was painted over when i got it so I just don't know. It weighed 2110 gms when painted black and gold. The bike is a joy to ride and I only take it out on dry days. I'm much closer to identifying it with your help. I had guessed late 70's to early 80's. Your reply helps. I'm positive its not the same but probably the same era as yours. The bike in the video is absolutely beautiful.
@@meadows408 main tubes should be SL & chain stay should be aelle
@@heptsu2883 Not sure its an 81. if it was, then it would have the cable routing running beneath the BB shell, unless for some reason that was broken off. Looks like you put a lot of money into a lower end model from 79 gave it a weird 60s paint and chrome job then put late 80s parts on it. The video poster doesn't mention that.
Preciosa
Could you help me identify the bianchi model? I found a bike, but I can't figure out what model it is, or if it's original. If yes, where can I send a photo?
Have you got any issues? I saw that steering set (lower crown) was against front brake body. Steering has ruined it?
There is an added spacer. It seems like its close, but there is not contact between both components.
Thanks for watching :)
Im surprised that the tubing is AELLE and not something better
I want one
You need one more link taking out of chain
I was mandated by the owner to assemble it. All the credit for choosing parts goes to him!
Columbus Aelle instead of Columbus SL ?
only fork and rear triangle are Aelle, main triangle is SL
Thats a rekord 74. Not campione del mondo.
Actually it is a CDM, but more from 79 rather than 81
I want
Columbus Aelle tubs for a dreambike-seriously???????
Actually its a lower end model from 79 given a weird 60s paint and chrome job then put late 80s parts on it. The video poster doesn't mention that.
The same note for 15 minutes....
Back then I had to find free music. It is what it is. Thanks for watching!
i fail to see anybody makin the one dirty and rode
The group is from total different time than the frame. Those two don't match at all.
Perhaps. I assemble the bikes. I do not pick parts for customers or comment on their choices, especially in these times where everything is hard to find.
Plus, being in Canada, finding old campagnolo vintage parts is really difficult.
If this makes the customer happy, then I have no right to judge their choices.
Thanks for watching :)
Handle bar tape not correctly wrapped.
Disagree - if you do from the top to bottom you get edge ridges outwards to hoods that help keep your hands on bars when wet and slippery - how we did it it 80s tbh
@@paulthorpe766 Yes. Exactly. And, you beneficially omit the %$#@ing tape wrap at the top. Much cleaner. Aesthetic, too! Fact is, and you and I know it......, there is no "correct" method. He needs a new tampon.
Beautiful frame and colour, not a fan of these brakes, would rather have a nice pair of campagnolo side pulls, more elegant 🙂
Thanks for watching ! The customers ask for me to build the bikes, I try not to comment their choices. These ones had to be modified to fit this frame.
I managed to get good braking from them event though they have a terrible reputation.
@@AndreasIhm all good, I understand 🙂
Everything is perfect except the music!
Thanks for watching and thanks for the feedback. I try to find better music these days.
Brake cables too long
That Meditation White Noise gotta go. As soon as a build video does this I click out. I would rather listen to someone talk us through with explanation and description.
Sorry my man, that was my mood back then.
Thanks for watching anyway.
