Couple comments. N3W is the same spline pattern as their standard freehub, but it is shorter and allows a 10t cassette. If we're talking about road wheels, you can have either freehub. Or you can use a Shimano cassette and chain, quite frankly. True for 11s and 12s. Not true for SRAM compatibility. Aside from that, yes. The user base was always much smaller, even in the 90s or 2000s. The cassettes and chains are more expensive than Shimano. If we ignore that, they use different shift cable heads, so you can't substitute shift cables. Few mechanics these days are familiar with it. You can read the instructions and the principles behind the derailleurs are identical, but the lack of day to day experience means something. And it's at a price premium, and these days it definitely doesn't perform better than equivalent Shimano or SRAM. As such, it's objectively not possible for me to recommend that a newer rider switch to Campy.
Beau bike!

Except for my adding a Brooks saddle, this is my bike. Bought in 1995, well taken care of and I'm going to ride it this afternoon. Not sure but I think I paid $1500 from a bike shop here in Houston.

Finally someone who knows how to wrap! Top down is smart; no bullshit taper cut at the top then electrical tape to cover the mess. Yes, roll tape towards the rider on top because we tend to roll or hands in this direction when gripping the top. And no, unless we are Girmay the idea that this wrap direction will tend to unravel the bottom when we sprint is laughable; we don’t sprint that much and no we are not a TdF sprinter to begin with. This guy does it right.

What about TruTrainer rollers?
@@barryrobbins7694 haven’t had a chance to test them. Thanks for watching!
@@AndreasIhm A combination of TruTrainer and E-Motion would be the ultimate rollers. It might be possible to make this combination starting with a TruTrainer. Others have made self-made E-Motion type rollers using standard fixed rollers.
@@barryrobbins7694 i was thinking about that. If I can get my hands on those, I’ll definitely try
For me the most important thing to retain a staight line on the rollers is to mark a point 1-2 meters in front of my front wheel (and in the center cross line of the cylinders) focusing my eyes on it. Then the bike automatically returns in this position regardless of the cadence of the pedals
Thank you for this content. I cut my steer tube tonight, perfect. After I finished with the wet and dry sanding it was so immaculate, it's a shame it's hidden lol

Just go tubeless. It’s so much better.
@@jonathanhowson6420 tubeless is not an option for track and only an acceptable option for cyclocross:
Having rode my mtb tubeless for a year I’m going back to tubes as replacing a tube is 10 pounds , replacing a slashed maxxis is 50 to 70 pounds and iv gone trough 3 tyres in 6 months
Nice Video, please inform about roller noise. Roller noise is irritating?
@@dattatrayvedpathak5067 it depends. The kreitler vibrates a little bit. The insideride is noisy but does not vibrate at all. The tacx rollers vibrate a lot and vibration is the most annoying thing for neighbours. If you have a home, the kreitler classic or the insideride rollers are perfect.

good video bro
I’m curious about the long term use of
Very cool find. That is a very decent bike. Some food for thought, I've got a 95 F1000 and IMO the original geometry on these is terrible. I went with a much shorter riser stem and wide riser bars and it's much more controllable and just plain better to ride .
@@haqitman hey! Thanks for watching. I agree, the 140mm stock stem made the bike terrible to handle. But that’s how things were back then.
@@AndreasIhm mine had a 150 which I swapped out for a 105 with 30 deg rise. Better, but shorter would be even better 😀
Useful info! Cheers
@@BrianRPaterson thanks for watching!
Check the rulebook. 35cm is the minimum width at the ends.
I’ve had a set of no-name aluminum rollers, Kreitler rollers, and now InsideRide eMotion rollers with the smart trainer function. They’re the best, although I still have a Kickr for short, spikey intervals.
Recently started using C40 tubs as everyday wheels, bloody magic ride
Nothing beat Tubular ride quality.
With such a narrow handlebar you compromise your safety for a few watts. Health and safety should always be put first.
I use road sew-ups, and I like the masking tape idea. I should have done that with the tire too last time as I mucked up the sidewall a bit.
hi I have a carbon fork that I just bought and I have to cut it, I don't have the tools to do it properly nor the ones you are alternatively using and I'm scared to mess it up if I just go for it with a saw while clamping it on a normal vice: would you recommend to take it to a shop?
@@Daniele_-ub4zh please bring it to a shop. Much easier, and not really expensive . Thanks for watching
@@AndreasIhm thanks man
So glad we’ve moved past this on the road haha, so much more effort than tubeless and waaay more than regular tubes. But it’s definitely nice for track.
Tubeless seems way more fussy and failure-prone to me. I have used sealant in my sew-ups, and that has saved my bacon a few times. It does make repair an uglier job.
@@christopheroliver148 Having to apply masking tape, glue a tyre to the wheel and wait days is in my opinion, way more fussy. Tubeless used to be a horrible faff, but with modern rims and modern tyres it's mostly as easy as a clincher (provided your rim tape is properly applied,).
@@HristoMitev123 I think days is a bit of an exaggeration. If you have a good glue base, letting the glue set overnight does fine for road wheels. For a criterium, I'd still go overkill. And for the record, I've not used masking tape though it's a good idea. Usually, I use a little goo-gone on a rag to clean the aluminum rims.

What size?
@@AizanaqiHerwandy that is a medium.
What size bike?
This is the first time ive heard of tubular tires!
Actually neither. Or a mix of both. Probably bar height of the black bike and the stem length of the red bike.
Iam just casual bikee, but the whole frame seems to be small for you in my opinion judging of course just by a side look
can you not get a longer stem but angled up?
Left yourself in a.conundrum, if you want to go wider you have go into the drops which gets you into a more streamlined aerodynamic position thus still providing aerodynamic benefits. (Although 30cm width is still too bloody narrow for comfort).
Could you help me identify the bianchi model? I found a bike, but I can't figure out what model it is, or if it's original. If yes, where can I send a photo?
Nice but Wrong
@@JuanPedales you are nice but wrong 🤣
I was a mechanic at Bicycles West on Speedway BLVD in the 80's in Tucson AZ. The. best memories from that time was assembling the high end Bianchis. I recall building a Campione Del Mondo with all Super Record Pantograph, and stitched leather on the bars. This video is like a time machine for me. Love it so much!
@@CJ-6993 hey thanks for watching!
Completely agree with your findings on these. Got a set today and it’s super annoying how the smaller ones are all the same length and thickness as you cannot tell at a glance which size each one is. Poor design. Also the holder; why does it have to set them hanging at a jaunty angle rather than straight down. Looks untidy! I was annoyed with my purchase as for the money I felt it wasn’t quite right. Never mind.
What size tire did you cram in the rear?
Managed to fit a 700x38 slick right in the dimples. Definitely made for a 33 or 35 .
That Meditation White Noise gotta go. As soon as a build video does this I click out. I would rather listen to someone talk us through with explanation and description.
Sorry my man, that was my mood back then. Thanks for watching anyway.
