  • I have 307 hours into this build so far with a few things to do yet! This video is just a quick recap of the entire process! With the added weight of the uhmw bottom and aluminum angle this boat will run 44/45mph! It should be pretty rock resistant with the bottom totally reinforced!

    That has to be the best conversion I have seen so far, what I mean is you welded as much aluminum to the bottom instead of using more of the fiberglass like the others I have seen. This build is insane. I want to see a more indepeth version with all the details. Or do I have to pay for my own? Great job sir.

I have a bass tracker jet with the 90 hp sport jet, i bought a sport boat with the 120 hp sport jet that i am rebuilding and doing a 90 to 120 swap, have to swap jet drive out too because gearing is different from 90 to the 120. contemplating a similar build to yours but with a 310 hp kawasaki instead

    • @muskie921cp3
      @muskie921cp3  Před 4 lety

      I ripped a bunch of holes in my other boat I built the Green Machine it was a 16/52 that's why I built this one with the plastic on it. I used rivnuts because I didn't want to remove the entire floor. But yes a stainless bolt and nut would work great and probably better/stronger. Although I've hit very hard a handful of times and haven't taken any damages! You can hardly see and scratches in the plastic. I know if I didn't have it I would have been repairing holes!

      @muskie921cp3  Před 4 lety +1

      It added around 130lbs I don't remember exactly the actual weight but around there. Other than the weight I don't think it slows down the boat any. I believe the boat is around 1800/1900 lbs fully loaded and it will still hit 47 down river! Keep the build light and it should run in the 50's pretty easily!

    Since you have everything to weld aluminum, how come you didn't just weld in a tunnel and motor mounts instead of glassing in the jet ski hull?

    • @muskie921cp3
      @muskie921cp3  Před 5 lety +1

      It took rock prof two years to get the intake tunnel right from what I heard! He said that it was a million dollars in r&d! I guess why not use what's already proven! Plus all the alignment issues that are avoided! This engine turns 8000 RPM! And all I have for fabrication tools is a grinder and vice!! Haha

      If you want to built one of these jet jon boats and weld in an aluminum tunnel check out what the mini jet boat builders are doing. They got lots of aluminum tunnel parts you can buy and it is all well proven stuff, but it is not cheap. If you are going to have a lot of $$ tied up in the build then the cost of a cast jet tunnel and intake might be worth it if you do want to go all aluminum.
