embracing Yorùbá Roots: My Sons' Heartwarming Conversation with Grandma | Yoruba Pikin

- In a heartwarming moment transcending borders and generations, my beautiful sons effortlessly engaged in a captivating phone conversation with their grandma, conversing solely in the rich tones of the Yorùbá language As the conversation unfolded, their fluency shone brightly, a testament to the importance of preserving their cultural heritage.
With unwavering confidence, my sons gently corrected their grandma whenever she inadvertently mixed English with Yorùbá, showcasing not only their linguistic prowess but also their dedication to upholding the purity of their mother tongue. This simple yet profound act underscored the significance of instilling cultural values in our children, emphasizing the role they play as guardians of our linguistic traditions.
For my mum, the joy radiating from her voice was palpable as she reveled in the beauty of her grandchildren embracing their Yorùbá roots. Despite the geographical distance and the blending of cultures within our family, the bond forged through language transcended any barriers, bridging continents, and strengthening familial ties.
This profound exchange also sparked a transformation within my mother, as she witnessed firsthand the power of interracial marriage to enrich, rather than dilute, cultural heritage. Through the lens of her grandchildren's linguistic proficiency, she gained a deeper appreciation for the beauty and resilience of diversity, embracing a newfound respect for the interplay between different cultures within our family.
Indeed, my sons serve as invaluable language arsenals, wielding the power to safeguard and nurture the legacy of their mother tongue for generations to come. Their ability to communicate fluently in Yorùbá not only enriches their own lives but also serves as a beacon of hope for the future of the language, inspiring others to cherish and preserve their cultural identities.

I Love this! Let's forget about religiousity.
This man has done well for grooming his children in Native Dialect of Yoruba Language.
Weldone!
I like this man for teaching them how to speak Yoruba
I’m just speechless seeing this kids speaking in my dialect. So amazing.
Great job to their Dad
They're not speaking your dialect they are yorouba by their father and they're speaking one of their native rich language .By the way do you know that most African languages are richer than the so called international languages
@@honorineoussou7686What are you driving at for God sake😏 Oponu
They are speaking the 'onko' dialect of Yoruba. That is amazing. It's my dialect too.
I like how Yaqoob is very particular about speaking correctly. No one gets a free pass; even grandma was instantly checked for saying 'school' instead of ile-eko 😅
😅
I love this brother, I am not a Yoruba man but this is how we should protect our heritage and culture. Thank you very much.
GOD bless your Dad for teaching these handsome, glorious boys there fathers dialect.
❤❤❤❤
YORUBA.
So proud of them, as a Nigeria, where some of language are going extinct.
Broda mi 😎 ohun iwuri ni akitiyan yin fun igbelaruge ede Yoruba awon omo yin, won gbiyanju Iya agba papa gbiyanju ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
May God bless them all for you IN JESUS NAME, AMEN!
Kamil is a handful. Who saw that malicious smile when he was asked how much he would send to his grandma? May Allah preserve them upon goodness and grant Grandma long life in good health 🙏
Amen.

I am INCREDIBLY proud to hear these children and their dad have a healthy conversation in YORUBA!! 😁😁👍🏾👍🏾💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾

Dad, you are my yoruba across the sea hero. Seriously, I love the boys rocking their heritage 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
I'm so proud of this man oooo, see how good he groomed the kids. God bless you Sir. ❤❤
Very commendable. I have half English children, but couldn’t continue teaching them Yoruba. Simply because as a nurse, I got injured, this has resulted in three major surgeries to date over 23 years, now my son is married, daughter is also an adult and left home. I am not going to make the same mistake with my grandchildren now. I started with my son as a 3-year-old, learning one- okan, 2 -eji, 3 èta etc. Our culture is beautiful and our children must know it.
Wow, Ọlọ́run a fún yín ṣe. ❤❤❤
@YorubaPikin it's also good that they can communicate with grandma, when my mum was alive, she was already old, in her 90s but she had gone to with the Lord now, she couldn't communicate with them, and my younger child i.e my daughter was always getting grandma in trouble with her dad. As she was trying to get them to eat the right foods & she wanted biscuits, crisps etc. As grandma oftentimes saw that once she was stuffed with biscuits, she wouldn't eat real food she'd cooked at that age. I had put my foot down, once they returned from school, they could only eat not more than 4 pieces of biscuits or a packet of crisps. That settled the problem, making father & children know that the home was my mum's as well. As she was unhappy with the conflicts caused by "little madam" in the house. It wasn't only Grandma, it was the same with others.
Well done. Those boys will be outstanding
You're a legend bro, God bless you and the kids. Good on you for preserving our heritage.
