Kael Umney that stopped after the 8th series. It’s been a entertainment show since then. Plus with all the channels on YT I’m not bothered I’ll watch Carfection/ Autocar etc for a proper review.

jon doe I hope it’s not him. That would be disappointing. Not that he’s not a good enough driver, but just cuz it should be an F1 driver like Schumacher or someone who drives every car the same with little “digress of time”

Top Gear PLEASE start showing these laps on TV again! I’m sure Chris is more than capable of commentating over the top of them! The Stig and his laps are one of the last remaining pieces of old TG and it’s sad to see his role be diminished as of late.

@@ALMX5DP it's top speed is a considerable weakness against those 650-700hp supercars. Everything else is great.
@@gustavoflorio5383 Yes, but many tracks are connected by turns and rarely do vehicles ever hit their Vmax. We're not talking about Ehra-Lessien or anything.

Just found out today that this car exists and immediately liked it a lot. Only the engine could be a little bit more interesting and the transmission either manual or a proper fast sequential.
The last time they talked about this caar in TopGear they said it was available with a manual transmission.
I own one and it does in fact come in manual.

The first minute of the video I'm like "OK, I can do this. Not as smooth and precise, but it's doable." Then come the last couple of corners and I'm like "OK, I'll crash." :)

It's an onboard video of a hotlap... The film on the car, from the actual episode, shows it just fine, and there is an excerpt from it on this channel, too, if you want to see what the car looks like. I for one appreciate this format for the stig lap video, it gives you a better idea of the driving.
This is excellent - more raw onboards please. Perhaps superimpose lap time at the end or run a clock during... Deluxe choice would be a minimap showing momentary track location vs a comparably fast car, but don't expect you keep GPS tracks 😂
Regardless, love being able to appreciate the driver's angle in one shot as Stig hustles the car round. And Stig's commentary is the icing on the cake 👌

I wish it came with some increadibly high revving engine. Like a Cosworth V8 or V10, but I guess the Ecoboost keeps cost down.

For comparison, the Pagani Huayra did a 1.13.8, and the BAC Mono did a 1.14.3 - this thing is rapid!

Clifford Bradford well it produces about 800kg of downforce nearing its top speed the same as the senna so cornering speed is better

Huayra was on grooved slicks. At all other places, the regular Huayra is no match for a hypercar, not even close.

Is it me or does the Stig turn in too early on the second to last corner? Noticed it on the Ferrari video too.
It's a blind corner, you cannot see the apex until you're almost at it. Plus it's the corner entry into the final corner that is even more critical (and harder), so you would have to turn in earlier so you're as wide and straight as you can be for Gambon corner.

Wouldn't it be SLOWER with the top off though?
It would be lighter too, because then you don't need to reinforce the windscreen or those two bulkheads either.
Fast, but is it good on the road? that's the tough thing for track focused cars 😉
We have one, have done nearly 10000km track and road... Better than most "sporty" saloons... Very comfortable in city and small twisty roads

I miss the commentary and views of the car when stig used to drive. Why change a great setup? Also, I'm no cup car driver but.....damn stig you seem to be pushing a little too hard. A racecar driver named boris said once stated...."smoothe is fast". When you throttle too hard, you get off the good line. I also realize the difference between 5 tenths and 9 tenths and it isn't easy running at 9 tenths without inching off line at least occasionally. What was the time?

yes, you can have it barchetta too like the one we own ... then add back the other pieces. It's the same car 8 configurations.
