Hands down the BEST vacuum on Earth. My parents owned one in the 80's. We were using it until 2006 when I moved and decided to leave it behind (basically threw it away). Big mistake. Even though it was over 20 years old, any other vacuum I bought past 2007 did not even come close to the performance of the older rainbow. Yes, they are expensive, which is why I will never buy a new one, but you'd be surprised how many used ones are out there on CL ;)
I noticed it is the latest model and so beautiful ! My Mother who passed away in 1994 had a rainbow and now it's a family heirloom. Being handed down from generation to generation.Still works as good as the day she bought it. I have one of the latest models and use it for all kind of cleaning tasks. I like especially the air washer and purifier gets rid of that pollen which causes allergies, No more blocked noses. Apart from that it does a wonderful job of cleaning/washing my white tiled floor I just love my Rainbow, all of my children own a rainbow. The utilities that comes with it makes cleaning my house so easy.
I have an old rainbow I bought in 1996, I love it. Had to send it in one time and it was fixed for free all I had to pay was shipping back to me. I paid 1500.00 for it back then and I would do it again, well worth the money. I really like how it works as a deodorizer for my house too. I am still using it today.
I love my rainbow!!! I have always had pets and no other vacuum could stand up to pet fur. I was spending at least $300 a year buying a new vacuum cleaner. No matter what kind it was the the suction diminished after a few uses. Anyone who knows me would bet the farm that I wouldn't not spend $2,000 on a vacuum cleaner. My frustration with poor suction and breakdowns lead me to buying a rainbow. I've had my rainbow for about 7 years and looks and works like it did the first time I used it. The suction alone makes it worth every penny. A lot of the commercials and infomercials you see make some vacs look so amazing....but what you don't know is how it holds up over time. From my experience most vacs are one hit wonders.
this is by far the best vacuum cleaner in the world . I did service on them for 5 years and the only reason for premature failer is if you don't empty the water after use . moisture will rust the bearings and seize the motor . otherwise the cleaning efficientcy is up around 98% . 'wet dust can't fly' . thank you ArtytheBassman . I love my D4.
I want one!! Lol. I just bought an older one that I'm very happy with, it's an e series. Still works GREAT! Not sure how old it is but it out performs the $175 Bissell I bought last year, and the one I bought the year before that! In fact it out does my sister's very pricey vac! I'm just waiting on one part to come in the mail then I can shampoo my carpets with my Rainbow! Awesome vac! Worth every single cent!
Rainbow is the best system of it's kind in the world, that i know of. I use to sell them back in 88 and just about everyone I demonstrated this fine machine to, bought it. I appreciate you sharing a little bit of the Rainbow, but folks, this 7 minute video did not come close to sharing all of what this machine can do. If I didn't know any better, I would not buy this machine based upon what I saw alone. You have to see a complete demo to see the benefits!!
We bought one, it is pricey, but man that thing can clean carpets better than any vacuum I have ever owned. It has awesome suction and I love the fact that there is no bags...just water...
I love my Rainbow!!! I have the e-series and have had it for 6 years. I will never own another vacuum!! Unless it is a rainbow!! I can not wait to get the new one!!!
I just bought this one after having one for 23 years, but due to my negligence, the first one was getting in rough shape. I absolutely love these and would not have anything else!
I just bought one and I love it, I did not sneeze one time while vacuuming. I am allergic to dust so that is amazing! My whole house smells fab and I use the high speed for my air cleaner, it is louder but it has more air flow. Bye bye old SHARK vac do doot to doo, bye bye SHARK do doot do doo!
We just had a demo at the house two days ago and I'm pretty impressed! Have to save for it though cuz its pretty pricey but it's probably worth it for people with allergies such as myself.
We have a rainbow too and I just find all the parts you have to put together..the wheel base, the water tub, the motor, etc...makes the job that much longer. I wish Rainbow could make a lift-away model to make it easier when cleaning stairs. As a Mom, I need to be able to just get the job done, not mess around with a bunch of things. Unfortunately, my husband will not part with it.
I have this rainbow and just love it ! I wouldn't want any other ,I have had a Kirby and an electrolux but the Rainbow is the best! Nothing to compare in my book.
Good video. I use an old Rainbow for construction. I can vacuum concrete slurry when cutting or use it to empty a loaded toilet. I also use it as an air filter for concrete and tile dust by running it without a hose.
I own a Rainbow for more than 20 years now.. and still working great. It's worth every dollar. I also own a Dyson. I hate Dyson so much. Especially when emptying and cleaning the container after each use. Dust everywhere and its a mess. Makes you sneeze like hell.
I have owned an Rainbow for over 10 years. I am very happy with it. I am now getting into the business of distributing them. They are expensive, but when it comes to health spend it
@PaulCarterJr I didn't make this video with a purpose to try and "sell" a machine. I made this video because I collect vacuum cleaners.. new and old, and Rainbows happen to be one of my favorite. Several of my friends who were not close enough to come and see it in person were curious about it, so I made the video.
I have a much older model bought back in 1999, and I have to say, the power on it is much better than most cheap vacuum cleaners you can get today for around a few hundreds of dollars. I have to agree that it's heavy (probably even heavier bc it's such an older model), but it does its job well. It's a bit of a hassle, but it does the job better than most other standard vacuum cleaners I have tried.
Richard Desjardin Yea, but it's an investment. Just like paying 2k for a computer, which will last you a long time. Compared to a cheaper computer that may do the job, but won't do the job as well and will probably get outdated soon.
The headlight is something that which, until this power nozzle model was used, had not been realized since the time they used the Eureka Roto-Matic Power Team nozzle in 1974.
I recently purchased the model in this video. The sales paperwork which was very obviously printed by Rexair and provided to their sales force indicates that you should not store the water basin on the unit when the unit is not in use. I follow their instructions and it is not an issue for me to store the water basin off the machine when not in use. I figure I'll get a lot more years of use out of this machine if I do what they tell me to than to do as I wish.
been considering getting a new vacuum. I know rainbow is a large investment but my parents got one over 20 years ago and it's still in the family new model is kinda futuristic. Looks like a dalek had a love child with the stargate..
I had a few Rainbow vacs (bought the SE new in1993) & been happy with it; no more allergy symptoms since. Now I'm hoping to buy the new E3 like this one. I'll bet this new Rainbow will outclean my old SE & Chrome Dome? I also like the quick-connect wands/hose & that the electrified hose can be used for wet pickup; the SE's electrified hose CANNOT be used for wet pickup.
Independent sales representatives sell Rainbow vacuums so they have some freedom to determine the price they sell at, but a basic Rainbow with the power nozzle will run about $2000 US before taxes. That is competitive with other high end vacuums.
What about the new feature that allows you to steer the power nozzle by twisting the handle. The older machines are great but this feature makes the machine so much better!
Borrow a friend's Royal Evercast 8300 and vacuum over after the rainbow and see how much is left over. The Rainbow seems cool because it filters the air, which is what it really is, but in terms of picking up the dirt, it is just OK.
why does it seem like its blowing air from the front vacuum area where you suck up the stuff? Also my light on the sucking area is not turning on =( Do I need to do something like clean an air filter or something? I checked the power is on, the water area is clean and locked on ready to go, the vacuum is on and should be working as usual but it's not. Have you experienced this? I've already used the new rainbow vacuum a couple times and every time cleaned the water out/ emptied it for next use. This time it's strange..
I just purchased this last week, because of nice demo and friend's long time good experience. How's your vac's motor noise level during air purifying mode? I noticed mine having a bit of high pitch motor sound, not really loud but makes me wonder if its normal. Sounds like a small toy racing car flipped upside down, and left the wheel running :)- close to that sound.
TheUniversalDave1: Kirby hasn't got any air cleaning certification as the Rainbow. Kirby is gold rated in carpet cleaning, rainbow is silver, because kirby has a high ajustment for different types of carpet, rainbow has a different system. It appears that kirby doesn't affect the texture of hight pile carpets. But RAINBOW cleans better i think and doesn't release dust at the exhaust
And jedi725: Rainbow is made with titanium. Titanium is used to build jet engine fan blades. It may look like plastic but its' not. In Rexair (Rainbow manufacturer) they make a resistance test wich is: throwing the rainbow down stairs and it doesn't break.
You forgot to mention that the vacuum attachment rolls by itself if you pull the trigger.. my step dad has his own store down in Hillsboro Ohio.. I've done quite a bit demos myself,so I know pretty much everything there is to know about Rainbow vacuum's.
Checked out Consumer Reports buying guide 2013. Saw it rated #3 in the bagless canister vacuums page 134 under the LG Kompressor rated #1 and the Hoover Platinum rated #2 both sell at $400.
is the power nozzle bigger than the previous models just being curious if i had waited a few months i could have bought one like you have so i have the rainbow with the blue on it
Oh and i just watched a Sebo x4 video and they showed the amazing features on how easy it is to get out the clogs in your vacuum.. I wish i knew what that was like since it is not possible for a kirby to clog being it has a 3 inch circumference you could go 12 years without one clog ( sentria ii)
i wished i waited a few months before i bought mine, i could have got this model is there any big differences in the rainbow in this video other than the lighted water basin than the one i purchased which is the blue version
It is absolutely safe to pick up water from anywhere but never use the powernozzle for that purpose. I've seen people dry there carpet using power nozzle and completely destroy the electic motor. Even warranty won't cover that because it's abusing the machine. Either use the carpet shampooer or just the apholstery tool alone
Neat video but you have WAYYYYYYY too much water in there. Too much water leads to you having to clean the seperator all the time. You usually want to stop filling just before the top of the bubble. You shouldn't be able to here it gurgling on low speed. :-)
I actually was working at Walmart the other day outside doing carts when a customer that sells these Rainbows actually came up to me and said that he would love to have me sell! I've been debating my options though, but if I did start, I would make like 4 times the amount I make from Walmart...don't know if I should or not? Any suggestions? I think I might take the job and do it but I don't know, should I leave Walmart or not?
If you're going to sell a product look at the comments in here there is nothing but praise for this product. I tried looking for used ones on craigslist in multiple cities and the only ones you find are 40 and 50 years old being sold from estates, that tells you these are things people do not get rid of. I just purchased one from a young couple and I have been in business for over 25 years, I have made plenty of money, don't really need to work as hard as I do but I have actually thought about selling these in the evening one or two appointments a week just because the machine is awesome and I believe people will benefit a great deal with a machine like this. The real gimmick are those that are advertised to the point of exhaustion on television. Anything that is constantly advertised you must be suspicious. So with that being said, if you're young and ambitious you can probably make a killing meeting people and simply introducing them to something that could make their lives a lot easier, don't sell, just show and the money will come to you.
I used to demonstrate these in the UK and there was no selling. The machine did it itself, 9 out of every 10 homes I visited bought one, people who I showed the machine to would come back months later and order. I still have my 2003 E series and it works like the first day I bought it.
All other sweepers SUCK! I bought my mother this exact model new, had her old E-series rebuilt, my Dad has an older 1980's rainbow and grandmas rainbow from loooooong ago (steel top)...still works.
Can you please post a video about those rainbows that you have ? Especially the vintage . It would be awesome to see the steel top one in operating conditions. Wow!
I'd admit to not being intimately knowledgeable about pricing policy; if I'm wrong, I'm wrong. However my price before tax was less than what you are quoting and the purchase was made 5 mo. ago. So, in this situation, it is the distributor that sets the prices, so the distributor my sales rep works under must have had a different pricing structure.
Hey I was wondering what is the model number for that Rainbow I want to se how much it is because I have a cat that sheds a ass load of hair and it's difficult to pick it up a trap it inside the vac and because rainbows use water the fur will get trapped
How does this machine compare to a Delphin? I own a Delphin and I love it. I know there is no low speed on my model, but otherwise, is a Rainbow better???
@BsNoMo No one is forcing you to buy a Rainbow. If the machine is taken care of, then what you're talking about doesn't happen. The people you know obviously didn't listen to the salesman when they purchased their machine and were explained to how to care for it. AND.. it is next to impossible to "seize" up a motor on a new Rainbow. So go ahead and keep using your Bissell you picked up at Wal-Mart and leave the Rainbows to those of us who know how to care for such a nice machine!
Uses water as primary filter for dirt. Other than that a relatively ordinary vacuum cleaner with an extraordinarily high price. Just think for $1800 you could hire a maid to clean your home for several years. Perhaps you can find a maid that brings her own Rainbow if you're impressed with them... Alternative vacuums for $200-$400:
Hands down the BEST vacuum on Earth. My parents owned one in the 80's. We were using it until 2006 when I moved and decided to leave it behind (basically threw it away). Big mistake. Very detailed video. Excellent work, especially considering that you did it with camera in one hand and vacuum operation in the other.

Our 30 year old Rainbow still does the job. I would recommend Rainbow to anyone.
My grandmother passed her 54 year rainbow d2 down to my mother and it works like wonders. I highly recommend a rainbow to any one.
I have an old rainbow I bought in 1996, I love it. Had to send it in one time and it was fixed for free all I had to pay was shipping back to me. Wow!!! My mother has a Kirby that she has had since I was a kid and I'm 42. It still works great! Hope my rainbow lasts as long as yours!

this rainbow has the best air flow..it cleans my floors like it never been clean before
I used to sell The Rainbow vacuum in 1975. Still the smartest and best way to maintain your home.
I want one!! Lol. I just bought an older one that I'm very happy with, it's an e series. Still works GREAT! what do you mean by lift-away? Stairs are easier if you take the machine off the wheel dolly so you can set it on a flat surface.
I have this rainbow and just love it ! I wouldn't want any other ,I have had a Kirby and an electrolux but the Rainbow is the best! Nothing to compare in my book.

It has a nice new look! That new power nozzle looks really interesting too. The only negative thing i see about it is the sound of the motor.
I have owned an Rainbow for over 10 years. I am very happy with it. I am now getting into the business of distributing them. They are expensive, but when it comes to health spend it
What a beautiful machine, thanks so much for sharing!
@MicrosoftWindowsGuy We have a new Rainbow that we got a month ago.The low speed is also for "purifying" the air.
I have a much older model bought back in 1999, and I have to say, the power on it is much better than most cheap vacuum cleaners you can get today for around a few hundreds of dollars. I have to agree that it's heavy (probably even heavier bc it's such an older model), but it does its job well. I used to sell these. They're great, but they aren't 2k great. You could build the same thing yourself for way cheaper
gotta love the brushless!
A Rainbow would be the only bagless vacuum that I would consider buying. Until then, I love my Oreck!
The headlight is something that which, until this power nozzle model was used, had not been realized since the time they used the Eureka Roto-Matic Power Team nozzle in 1974.
We have one for 12 years ,we like it ,It is the best appliances in the world !!!!! Nothing can compare with this vacuum

love the head lights mega
I love your Rainbow . Cute dog you got there.
i love my Rainbow
It is a turning joint that sits where the stainless steel tube joins the power nozzle in the new LED equipped power nozzle. It works really well.
You can't go wrong with a Rainbow cleaning system!!
My mom got hers in 92 and it lasted till 07/08. She wants a new one.
And the sound of this system really does relax me.. Makes me wish I was in bed xD
I have an older rainbow and love it. It appears the new cord holder is not as good as the old one because you can't quickly release the cord now.
yes if it is soaking wet dont put water in the water basin if you dont have the newest model you have to use the non electrified hose hope that helps
What about the new feature that allows you to steer the power nozzle by twisting the handle. The older machines are great but this feature makes the machine so much better!
wow it looks great, fantastic. Bravo.
Ours is 30 years old as well and still works
Also the one my mother had, it's now going on 40year old and still works well.
We had a demo at our house and had one really clean spot. Lol. Really wanted to buy it, but it was waaay too expensive. Maybe someday.
And jedi725: Rainbow is made with titanium. Titanium is used to build jet engine fan blades. It may look like plastic but its' not. In Rexair (Rainbow manufacturer) they make a resistance test wich is: throwing the rainbow down stairs and it doesn't break.
For what you pay for a rainbow, you could buy a ton of HEPA filters for a Bissell.
Jay Winters and still have a shitty vacuum that leaks dirt into the air and that will only last 2 years if you’re lucky.
i have that same vacuum love it
if you ever want to test a vacuum, do it in yer bare feet and feel for any dirt getting swept around by the power head.
You forgot to mention that the vacuum attachment rolls by itself if you pull the trigger.. my step dad has his own store down in Hillsboro Ohio.. I've done quite a bit demos myself,so I know pretty much everything there is to know about Rainbow vacuum's.
If something can get the cleaning job done as great as the Rainbow it won't matter how much it is to me
Checked out Consumer Reports buying guide 2013.
Yikes! I just bought the E2 12 like two weeks ago! Would have been nice if the salesman told me a new model was coming out soon :(
Rainbow is the best !!
That is good to know. However, if that is the case why is Rexair recommending that the basin be stored off unit?
4:40 oh my God that sounds like a fan that plugs into the wall
i wished i waited a few months before i bought mine, i could have got this model is there any big differences in the rainbow in this video other than the lighted water basin than the one i purchased which is the blue version
Does it leave the carpet wet? And how well does it work on a hard floor?
they retail at around $3000 but you can get one from door to door demos for around $2300.
i own a rainbow e2 2008 modal love it it picks up more dirt out of my carpets i just love it love it.
@ vacguy77 OMG the tank lights up!!! How cool is THAT???!!!
Personally I have a Miele van which I love but I do know the Rainbow is one of the best and unique vacuums as well. It's just way too loud though.
It is absolutely safe to pick up water from anywhere but never use the powernozzle for that purpose. I've seen people dry there carpet using power nozzle and completely destroy the electic motor. Even warranty won't cover that because it's abusing the machine. Either use the carpet shampooer or just the apholstery tool alone
dose it still have a quick draw cord hook
I need a glowing water basin now!
Neat video but you have WAYYYYYYY too much water in there. Too much water leads to you having to clean the seperator all the time. You usually want to stop filling just before the top of the bubble. You shouldn't be able to here it gurgling on low speed. :-)
It's the best I have it since 1991
I already buy this stuff, but the buckets water Has already broken, where do I need to buy
I actually was working at Walmart the other day outside doing carts when a customer that sells these Rainbows actually came up to me and said that he would love to have me sell! I think I might take the job and do it but I don't know, should I leave Walmart or not?
+RC MoonPie the original rainbow was the best vacuum of its time and the new one should just as good
Uh,evidence kid?

I used to demonstrate these in the UK and there was no selling. The machine did it itself, 9 out of every 10 homes I visited bought one, people who I showed the machine to would come back months later and order. I still have my 2003 E series and it works like the first day I bought it.
Rainbow is the best product in the market for home cleaning and according to Carpet and Rug Institute silver is a very strong level
Suuper cleaning system !!!
Can you show us the separator , please ! Thx
اجمل مكنسة بالعالم ممتازة جدا جدا لها عندي ٤ سنيين روعة انصح بشرائها
I personally like to see the dirt in the water after vacuuming the carpet. If you could, will you tell or show me how dirty the water is?
All other sweepers SUCK! I bought my mother this exact model new, had her old E-series rebuilt, my Dad has an older 1980's rainbow and grandmas rainbow from loooooong ago (steel top)...still works.
rebuilt = tuned up... which iirc didn't need anything
Can you please post a video about those rainbows that you have ? Especially the vintage . It would be awesome to see the steel top one in operating conditions. Wow!
does it have floor steam mop function & attachments
i have the same model . what is the model name? d4 ? e-2? can i use as air purifier on low speed mode?
I’ve never really understood how these Rainbow vacuums work. Like, what is the little water tank for?
It’s a scam. They get old people to buy these thing on credit for 3000 dollars.
is it safe to use it in wet fabric, upholstery???
I'd admit to not being intimately knowledgeable about pricing policy; if I'm wrong, I'm wrong. However my price before tax was less than what you are quoting and the purchase was made 5 mo. ago. So, in this situation, it is the distributor that sets the prices, so the distributor my sales rep works under must have had a different pricing structure.
@mark40511
I thought so too but when I had to take it in because my hepa was getting too dirty too early, they told me to put less water.
How much did this model cost?
Best machine on the market Pro Aqua
Hey I was wondering what is the model number for that Rainbow I want to se how much it is because I have a cat that sheds a ass load of hair and it's difficult to pick it up a trap it inside the vac and because rainbows use water the fur will get trapped
Kirby has a three ear warranty 90 days for commercial use read the warranty card.
Alternative vacuums for $200-$400:
i want this version . IT COMES WIT LIGHTS !!
is that the latest model. 2011 they are nice machines
I think Daniel Jackson and Samantha Carter would not like to find themselves inside your minature star gate posing as a vacuum cleaner.
Then why does Kirby have a Gold seal for filtration, and Rainbow only has Silver?
