I have watched thousands of stand up shows in my life, and Daniel Tosh's "Completely Serious" is incredible; I can confidently say I consider it a complete work of art.
I feel like 99% of his comedy is stuff people write about him in his comment sections and he just repeats them tho... he's funny but he was only relevant in the comedy world for a very short time because he ran out of material

I feel he doesn’t get the respect he deserves because everyone only sees him as the tv show host. But in all reality he’s a top tier stand up comedian. If Brendan Schaub is considered a comic then Tosh is elite

Tosh is honestly really underrated in the stand-up world. His stand-up specials, “completely serious”, “Happy thoughts” and this one you were reacting to are all top tier tbh. You guys should deff do more of him ! Cheersss

Daniel Tosh came to my small University during a tour, and finished his set an hour early. He then went on to put on an absolute masterclass in improv to fill the next hour. I gained SO much respect for him that show🙂
Fun fact: In person, off stage, he was very polite, reserved, and shy.
Just shows you how talent finds a way to shine through 🙂

the planning for these college shows is normally all over the place ..more than likely the college slotted him for say 2 hrs..but he was told an hour so he only prepped a 1 hour routine then found out before going on stage he was expected to go for 2 hrs...and instead of just not doing it he riffed for a while

As Far as Brit comedians go, I'm obsessed with David Mitchell, (Lee Mack's not bad either), Jimmy Carr is top notch, and then it's just Ricky Gervais, I think.

Then the next day I wake up and we start the whole process all over because I forgot again. I'm pretty sure I'm being held hostage against my will but I just can't remember.

I see the Anthony Hopkins! But, I lean more towards Daniel Craig’s fraternal twin.🤣 The Ricky Gervais is SPOT ON, and I think he’s like Dazs spirit animal. The Ed Sheeran thing i get bc all gingers kinda look the same to me(I can say that bc my husband is one). But Dave has to be taller than Ed and he’s not as dorky looking.🤷🏻♀️

Tosh is an all time great.
His ability to pull audience back and forth is truly amazing.
His routines are truly the comedic equvilant of 'these hands rated E foreveryone' no gets spared by tosh.
The ”so and so many days since last accident” is a tool to make workers more aware and stop for a second before diving in to a high risk job (often in bigger industries like paper mills etc.)

I've worked in a few factories, and the signs for accidents are a very beneficial thing. The higher the number, the better the work environment. No supes breathing down our necks, and no one getting fired. The lower the number the more likely you'll be working more, cause there are less of you now.
Tosh is absolutely huge in the u.s.. straight genius
His Comedy Specials are not that huge. Tosh.O was much more easily digestible.
Daniel Tosh' first special I saw was "completely serious", I remember being in tears watching it. You may know the name from his show Tosh.0 which along with South Park is the only reason Comedy Central has survived as long as it has.

I interviewed Daniel Tosh for my college newspaper (a little over 10 years ago now), and you’ll be happy to know he was every bit as funny off the stage as he is on.
He had me in stitches through the entire interview.

I was in the us navy for 4 years and a lot of the bases have a sign out front that give the amount of days since the last DUI incident.
For any Brits or foreigners watching, in America the local fire fighters and police department usually play against each other in a softball or basketball game for their communities
This is one of the tamer skits he does too, love his dark one liners that always snatch your neck because he took it in a whole different direction that you were not expecting.
Tosh is a pretty big legend over here, at least with this generation. He had his own show called Tosh.O from 2009-2020, 12 seasons for a reason. Put him on the map big time. Really funny guy great delivery.

People that spend an inordinately amount of time on the internet seemed to love a show talking about the internet. Who would have guessed. Doing well on CC is like winning a double A game. You are a professional but not much of one.
I think the “600 days since last accident” shows how competitive Americans are because when I see that I think “600? Let’s get that to 700 and I won’t be the one who breaks the record”
So the idea is everyone will be more safe because they want the higher number and don’t want to be responsible for breaking it

I would love to see more from Tosh... I saw him live several years ago and it was absolutely amazing, he's actually a super nice dude too, very chill and down to earth. But yeah, he's been depressingly quiet the last few years and I'd absolutely love to see a new special from him.
as an american, i understood everything they said until the actual video of daniel ending and then they literally looked at each other and talked so fast it was gibberish to me lol. i have no idea what they said at all but im glad they had a good time. cheers from the southern part of the usa!
Tosh.0 on comedy central was one of my favorite shows growing up, especially the web redemption and video breakdown portion of the show.

His show, Tosh.0, was an American cable show where he reacted to internet videos, so it seems very fitting to see a reaction to his stand-up. It's my first time seeing him on a stage as well, as I had only seen him on the television. I enjoy hearing his take on some more general issues, which there was less of on the show, but his timing and delivery are just the same. Funny.
Yes. Daniel Tosh is amazing. His pacing is awesome. And while I think the Jeselnik comparison is fair, it's far easier to see the structure and punchline coming with Jeselnik.
Jeselnik's tone, delivery, and pacing are different, but the misdirection humor is not much different.

This is my first time watching him doing stand-up. I used to love watching his show. I'm glad to be able to watch this and your reaction to it, for the first time. Funny man!
He definitely has a gift from god. Some people are born with a quick wit. His jokes are not just desugned in an impromptu manner he really is making it up.

Tosh is the NEW testament of the book of CARLIN! Stong similarities to their body of work.. George's wordplay is out of this world, but Daniels delivery is 2nd to none.
We used to have one of those signs outside our unit in the Marine Corps. It constantly stayed at “0 days since the last alcohol related incident”
I don't know that he was underrated as much as avoided by many for his (very) edgy comedy. I think his show was great, and he never fails to make me laugh hugely, and that's enough for me.
You guys gotta react to Tosh's stand up special "Completely Serious". You can do it in 4 or 5 15 minute segments. Totally worth it!

Tosh is a legend here... he had his own tv show for a while. But he's amongst the likes or Eddy Murphy, Robin Williams, Dave Chapelle, Rodney Dangerfield, Richard Pryor, ...bill cosby..., George Carlin... Tosh is top notch.

He sort of reminds me of James Acaster. It's a quite British style of stand up with lots of self-deprecation, dark humour, and sarcasm.

Tosh isn’t known too much here for the stand up, he’s known for his tv clip show. He doesn’t promote his stand up at all yet he does very well, because he’s hysterical

Tosh's style is very syncopated, his cadence makes the offbeat humor catch you off guard in the best way. One of the best comedians in America.

Daniel Tosh is a comedy God. He has a bit from his 2010 special where he goes from a fake story about a little girl dying to a real story about a kid that has his head chopped off by a roller coaster. Pure. Gold.
