- I was in an area where there was a nearby plant nursery. I thought I would stop by and just "take a look". I ended up finding new deliveries of cactus and succulents. And so, the window shopping turned into a plant haul.

Also I agree with you on the false flowers. A garden centre in the UK where I live was actually in the news because of it. Surely the glue they use to stick it to the cactus isn't good for the plant?

Oh wow I don't know how I missed this video. I love your other video when you first showed Star Nursery. I think that's my first comment to you. I wish we had something like that here. Amazing selection of cactus. Ha, to me String of Dolphins should be called String of Sharks. Or better yet, School of Sharks. Some great hauls. The second tomato is a potato leaf variety. I hope they do well for you. I found out that soil is different in different parts of the country. I had ordered two bags on Amazon and was nothing like your mix. Was full of sticks and very little soil. No rocks. Just unusable. I sifted it but most was trashed. What a shame and I heard that's the East coast mix. I've been watching some of your older videos again with a newer appreciation as I know so much more now than when I first met you.

I sure miss some of the off the shelf finds I had from 10-20 years ago, things have changed a lot, mostly for the better but the rare gems of 20 years ago were way different!
12:10 Ana, this is a Mammillaria johnstonii, it has a beautiful big flowers, I have just got also mine. You'll love it.

It was wrong, Ana. The intense pink color is a Mammillaria grandiflora . The mammillaria johnstonii also you has it, is that of long black spines, with combined flower soft pink and white.
The names are all confusing. 😁 But thanks and I will look into those names you suggested.

Little warty is on my windowsill and is finally growing. I baby this one, since you definitely Don't want to over water it. I planted it in "Gritty Mix". You are lucky with the Warty, it is 2 plants for the price of one. I am sure you know you can separate it and plant in 2 separate pots.

Perfect video with my lunch! 😍 I looooved the plants and your haul especially the Mammillarias, Astrophytums and Ric-rac cactus, although Daz isn’t keen on it. I recently got a cutting as a freebie when i got my Hoya haul. 😆 The cactus @9.08 looks like a Gymnocalycium quehlianum. Daz has one and he may have to confirm this ID. Awesome trip, sis. I can't image how they can manage to survive with those prices. They would need to have to sell a lot or to have other products with real profit.
So many good cacti & succulents, Ana. I especially love the Euphorbia. I need to study the various cacti to learn the ID's since this is all quite new to me. My jade is red and is flowering. I am lucky that my backyard gets sun for at least 5 hours. I make sure I don't over water it.
Connie Beal sounds good! I have jade that I tried to make it into a bonsai but I’m having no luck. So I think I will also just let it grow so it can flower.
I was a naughty girl and cut some dolphin clippings off a pot downtown. I have always wanted to try to grow them.
Connie Beal, hahaha. I can’t say I have not done that myself. When I go walking around our neighborhood, I see some bushes that “need trimming”. So I “helped” them. 😉
I confessed to my grand-daughter I was naughty and cut some succulents via text. She texted back that I was living life on the edge, ha ha
I just had to sell some cacti because I live in Canada and have to keep them all inside and I run out of space.

Got a question for ya. When propagating a cactus, how often do you water them so to encourage root growth?
Brian The Bold, water very lightly if there is no roots yet. I just mist the top of the soil when it is dry. 🙂 I only water deeply when it already has roots attached to the soil.
i love cactus and i collect them but i live in georgia so the only place you can get good ones are etsy lol.
