Reviewing Every 4TH GEN CAMARO on Facebook Marketplace

- Today we're after the '00s street racing big d**k daddy, the Chevrolet Camaro SS and/or Z28. We're looking at 1998-2002 only, as those are the LS1 years. Equipped with a Borg Warner T56 6-speed manual or some dumb automatic, these solid rear axle catfish were the scourge of your local police officer who had to work the night shift on Fridays and Saturdays. Starting in '99 they came standard with a Torsen LSD just like the Miata, nice.

I don't think anyone really gives you guys credit for how professional your videos look (and sound) despite being a smaller channel. Feed is so good at commentating and the rest of the crew know how to keep the conversation interesting and humorous. You guys are so underrated, just keep up the good work.
That's how you get a comment pinned, thanks bro
I know they are the same car but had no clue the hoods could be swapped with out swapping the whole dog house.
@@robertstone9988What the fuck are you on about haha
SLP âconvertedâ Z28âs to SSâs. All SSâs were touched by SLP. There were no SSâs coming directly out of Chevrolet (Factories). The high flow air box lid was called the âwhisper lidâ, which Iâm almost positive was not an SLP original. What was hugely popular from SLP (that was not standard SS equipment) was the SLP loudmouth exhaust. You knew it when you heard it.
Funner Facts: SLP was also responsible for the Pontiac Firebird Firehawk, not to be confused with the WS6 ⊠which (the WS6) Pontiac DID make.
You could get a Firebird Formula (the sleeper) OR WS6 directly from Pontiac ⊠and SLP made the Firehawkâs (which my guess is were made from Formulaâs).
SLP is the GM version of Shelby/ Saleen
They tuned the cars and added performance upgrades to the cars
That one Camaro that was painted black over the red had a ram air hood from a Trans Am too. Mine has one
Trans Am we have at home
All the shitty tailights swaps are for a reason, stock tailights are super fragile and the white lense falls off and finding good oem ones are near impossible without spending 400-500$ per tail light
true. my stock tailights kept burning out bulbs really fast. Ended up having to change bulbs every 2 months.
â@@squallxviBad grounds / wiring will do that too.
I bought a 4th gen 6 speed Z28 a month ago, bought it off the guy who bought it new. I remember when he he brought it home 21 years ago.
He had it parked in his Camaro/ Corvette museum the whole time.. I just bought a brand new 21 year old car. Total showroom condition.
Was never listed or advertised anywhere. No plans to drag race it.
agreed with everything you said except the one that had piston slap, most ls1s had piston slap out of the factory and never effected the car for the life of it
Got my 99 4th gen SS with t-56 for $4,180 back in like 2018, shit was completely dead, she's good now with a built motor, 9inch rear and all tubular components, but it was dogshit when I bought it
You guys make great content! I'd love to see a corvette video more specifically the c6
Got a Corvette video coming for you soon but SADLY it's not going to be the C6. We'll get there though
Every SS is a Z/28 but not ever Z/28 is an SS
All 98-02 ssâs are âslpâ every one comes with different wing, badging, 01-02 ls6 intake but the other things like slp air intake and exhaust were extra options. The visibility isnât that bad I think itâs considerably better the 5th gen Camaros visibility. Definitely getting harder to find a clean one that isnât big money especially manual or hardtop.
My Grandpa's 68 T-Bird definitely had a smell. The interior was like the Matrix.
My 2003 VW GTI new had the CRAYON smell too! I heard that smell comes from the glue they use or the plastics. Haha Netgear is from Houston. I'm from there too.
Really enjoy the content, easy S+ tier. Whenâre yâall gonna do a Integra video?!
Honda Gang really wants their representation. I promise Civics and Integras are coming
After buying a 83 Camaro Autoform for like 9k with 11k miles on BAT, I can confirm that Facebook marketplace sucks to buy Camaros.
Canât wait till 300Zs, I got a buddy selling one and I canât wait to see you guys rate it
Z32 or Z31? We'll get to both but if there's a chance to clown on your buddy we'll do his gen first
@@CollectorCarFeed z31 please! I own one would love to see them clowned.
@@CollectorCarFeed Z32, but I just checked with him and it was sold, and the listing doesnt show up on CCF.
@@CollectorCarFeed Z32
That red and black Camaro... just think that some guy stood back and thought "fuck yea, this is a SEMA build." That is the most disgusting thing I have ever seen
I had a lot of fun in an â02 doing track days and found visibility to be quite good except a narrow spot around 7:30/4:30.
80's 90's and 00's german cars, especially Vw's and Merc's all smell like crayons because they dont use foam as seat padding, its this weird plastic strand material that is woven almost like wicker furniture, and whatever its made out of gives it the smell.
Iâll be honest, I love the Catfish Camaro Z28 and SS. If I were to come across one that had been taken care of and was a color I liked with a six speed and the price was right Iâd buy one right now.
Ok my favorite cars for this game are cars that would be fun to have/drive but that i dont actually want to buy.
The g35, and Corvette episodes just made me want to spend 10-15 grand
all the early ls1s had piston slap on cold start. gm had a technical bulletin to basically ignore it
That LS1 motor is a 300,000 mile motor.
I have a 96 with 125k on it. Its got 30 year old car problems (loose steering, a friendly oil leak, hood struts are going and hatch struts left for milk years ago) but I bought it earlier this year for 6900 and that damn thing always starts.
2:00 says z28. Probably not an actual z28 (v8) coming from Little Rock with 24âs, just rebadged. Siri play â24âs by TIâ
Thatâs also where I stopped watching it and got stuck in a TI discography for over an hour. Iâm back now.
Welcome back, God damn these trifling upbadging hoes
Hey you guys should review some z32 300zx's, my favorite car of all time
This was my first vid watching you guys and if you dont know what a tbss and v1 is then idk if yoh should be making videos on collector cars đ
the concord one i have actually seen irl, its a sideshow swinger confirmed
he LIED??
@@CollectorCarFeed never trust the fb ppl man they will lie their ass off to get rid of their pieces of shit to you
Just recently got a z28 with the t56 for 4500 I feel like I did pretty good it was a little touched but not as bad as Iâm going to touch it
02 is the 35th anniversary year. Had a friend who had one in high-school and it'd break loose at 55 60 mph
The 98 for 7500 was an awesome deal
My 2000 E-Class definitely has the crayon smell on hot days đ
80's Toyota seat foam. Those VOCs had a distinct smell.
Automatic transmissions in these cars kills me. And thereâs always more of them for sale than manuals. Iâll see thumbnail of a catfish I think looks awesome (most of the time they are) but more times than not itâs an auto
you think the auto will go out kinda early even if you do transmission fluid changes and driving normally ? or you just saying itâs boring cause itâs not stick ?
@@michaelvargas8656 I feel like you need to do more with the auto like a shift kit and torque converter just to get it working well, but thatâs just me. And Iâve seen more autos go out than I care to admit
@@Graves-81_69 interesting
@@michaelvargas8656 Iâm just talking from my experience. Automatics are where itâs at if you live in a town or city, but country roads are where manuals shine
"Slide her my number" how fckn cheesey
Tbh for the price some of these guys are asking for id rather look for a c5
Facebook marketplace sellers are permanently on some bullsh**
@@CollectorCarFeed This is very true, their car is 1 of 1 haha
Ayye ik the shop in the âpool Camaroâ that yellow building is the Ra shop (smoke shop) đ€Ł
How much do you think my 2001 v6 t-top can go for itâs in GREAT condition and only 50,000 miles?
I have a request, could you make a how to get into cars and projects and stuff as a dumb stupid beginner?
That's a great idea
Happy Memorial Day đ
I have a O2 Camaro SS slp 35th anniversary car in perfect shape with 36,000 miles and a 6 speed
yesss â€
This might be a dumb request, but could you do a civic video in this style?
Civic video would be chill, we need a civic and Integra videođ© Honda boys wya??
Soonâąïž
All the civics pre 2008 models are either stock or near stock and way overpriced or have a million mods no one wants and way overpriced. You can get an Si from 2010 for the same price as a non Si from like 98. From what I have seen anyways
@@jeffreyjamieson8137 yeah thatâs honestly pretty true
I would love to get rate on my SS đ
SLP would convert the Z28 to the SS at their facility
That blue one yall hated on was extremely clean. P.S. the 03 Vette ac compressor its the worst design.
jesus I got my 93 camaro z28 with 113k miles with the lt1 with a whole bunch of mods done to it for 2500 people wanting over 20k for it is just crazy absurd to me and really makes me laugh
Please stop calling all 4th Gens "catfish." Only the 98-02s look like catfish. That redesign really was a bad choice by GM.
ohhh yeah agreed man, 93-97 front end was by far better then 98-02
Talking about bring a trailer and all the camaros are 8k plus
13:19 definitely NOT a c4 corvette đđ thatâs a 2nd gen Corvette not a stingray or Split window
That 6.0/4l80 swapped Camaro is ugly but would stomp a stock ls1 car.
Smells like Crayons for sure
7:13 wtf?
âAll brand new under the hood.â No engine bay shots.
The worst gen, srry not srry
at least aesthetically
5th gen is a squinty pile of crap to me but these things are subjective, 4th gen LS1 easily the best deal going in f bodies
The pre facelifts look way better. At least in my opinion.
@@Foxfloop smoking craxk
So in today's market the convertible SLP does not lose value. Honestly it's more expensive now VS the T-tops and hard tops because there's so very few now
Wouldnt pay more than 1500 for them pos all of em they worth the trans and engine scrap the rest
