- Martha Stewart shares the recipe for her delicious and chewy kaiser rolls. Combining bread flour, kosher salt, and active dry yeast, Martha shows us how to create the perfect dough. You’ll get to watch the dough rise before your eyes before knotting it into the traditional kaiser twist. Gently top your twists with an egg wash and some poppy seeds, and your rolls are ready for the oven! Martha loves to pair her kaiser rolls with butter and a cup of tea, but these rolls could take your brunch to the next level!

Martha Stewart's Kaiser Rolls | Martha Bakes Recipes - Jak na to + styl
The store-bought kaiser rolls I've eaten since childhood are spectacular.
There’s such a home feeling with rolls baking!
I wish we got an overhead shot of Martha forming the buns, It was hard to understand. I want to try these.🇨🇦😘Love you Martha!
I figure some kind of knot should do. ❤
@Trina Moser I saw a short video, which repeats on a loop so you don't miss anything. It was very helpful, on Pinterest
@@veevee111 ohh thanks!!
Just make a dough rope then do a double knot with the tails tucked in. It’s a no brainer when a dodo like me can do them. Grab a pint of egg whites at the market when you shop and brush then just before baking.
I grew up in New York and every neighborhood had a bakery that made these. I have craved this roll many times but could never find them online as I never knew the name of them. In December I described the rolls to my housemate and asked if he knew what they were called as he also grew up in New York, and he told me, "oh, kaiser rolls!" I looked it up and yes, finally I found them!, searched for a recipe, found Martha's right away, thank you yes!, and made them with my housemate. They came out perfectly. He was satisfied but I was ecstatic to have again these wonderful rolls, and have been making them now twice a month. They are exactly as I remember them, with added poppy seeds and dried onion. Thank you Martha!
I love Martha i will try it
The world seems all good when Martha bakes. ☺
💜💜💜Love you Martha Stewart 💜💜💜you taught me a lot ✨
I LOVE Kaiser Rolls! I grew up in Baltimore and we ate them almost daily. Since moving to Texas and now Arkansas where a good bakery is as scarce as hen's teeth I have been craving them. With your recipe and instructions I will now try making my own. I love them with ham & cheese or smoked salmon & cream cheese.
Thank you for this recipe, Martha. You are an inspiration to me. 😊
Hilarious that you think Martha reads and cares about your comment. 😂
Just love her baking
I would make garlic toast out of them. Slather with garlic butter and toast until melted/edges a little browned. Amazing!
just made rolls turned out great!!!
I make my scrambled eggs "Martha Stewart" style. Everybody loves them. I'm going to try these Kaiser Rolls next. Thank you Martha.
Happy Birthday Martha!
They look so good!
Looks good cant wait to make these
Thank you for sharing the secrets of baking! I have learned so much from you. It’s easy to follow your directions! 🌷💐
So glad to hear it!
I could watch Martha cook......or sizzle in a swim suit all day....every day! Just a beautiful human being!
I think I’ll try this recipe, since I like making plain yeast rolls. 🌺😎
Well done Martha ..as usual ...touch wood👍
Yum! Love Kaiser rolls!
This looks so good!!
Am Egyptian we call this Kaiser bread

Looks delicious I will have to make these soon
Martha is AWESOME!!
Thank you!
I am making these rolls now. I tried a recipe from the Bread Bible. The hydration was too low and I wasn't happy with the end result. The hydration in this recipe is much better. My fingers are crossed.
They look perfect. I miss real great Kaiser rolls. Can't find them anymore 😢My German Mother was very fussy about bread and rolls. They had to be a certain German style, now I want the same thing. So, I am good with yeast, I will make my own 😊 ty for the recipe 🌞
I like to use my scale for that part, that way I know they are all the same size.
Ste môj idol, sledujem Vás a peciem podľa Vás,ste úžasná
Like 257 Hi friend that looks delicious and very yummy thanks for sharing my dear friend 👉👉👍👍👍👍👍👍🌻🌻🌻❤❤❤❤❤
oh martha, driving down to portchester and getting a fresh roll from from one of the bakeries is sublime. home is great too, however lets not belittle such an experience.
I grew up in Port Chester, oh how I miss Cassones.
Thanks Martha, living in the south I miss my New England favorites like hard rolls. They’re great for tuna sandwiches too!
Now, if I can just get a recipe for a really good Neopolitan/margarita pizza like I can get in Little Italy… without a brick oven unfortunately…
Ha ha ha, they keep harping on us to never tap the eggs on the edge of the bowl to crack them. Here she is, the legendary Martha Stewart, doing exactly that. 😎♥️👏👏👏👏👏 @MarthaStewart. Just subscribed. You’re such a great inspiration. Thank you very much for taking the time to make this excellent teaching video. Am heading to my kitchen to make a smaller batch.
I stopped cracking eggs on the edge of a bowl many years ago. I tended to get more egg shells in the bowl not using the edge of the bowl.
So I just want back to using the edge of the bowl and I haven't seen one piece of egg shell in the bowl.
I've come to the conclusion, that who ever said not to use the edge of the bowl is full of it 🤣
Really Ur incredible ♥️♥️⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Different than recipe i use...but look just as tasty. :)
Philly has Kaiser/ hard rolls,too
They are originated in Vienna/Austria and are originally called Kaiser Semmel
Looks lovely. Would you happen to have this in grams by any chance?? Can't wait to make these!
I grew up eating these as hamburger rolls in Philadelphia.
What is the given weight of each dough for each kaiser roll?
Can I froze it ? Raw or baked ?
Look very delicious 🤤 😋🥐🥐🥐🥐🥐🥐🥐🥐🥐🥐🥐🥐🥐🥐🥐🥐🥐🥐🥐🥐🥐🥐🥐🥐🥐🥐🥐🥐🥐🥐🥐🥐🥐🥐🥐🥐🥐🥐🥐🥐🥐🥐🥐🥐🥐🥐🥐🥐🥐🥐🥐🥐🥐🥐🥐🥐🥐

How the hell is she 80. She looks amazing!
That's what happens when you play with your dough.
She was 60. This is 20 years ago
I don’t want to make that many rolls what are the measurements to make only two rolls for breakfast?
How about bakers percentages?

OMG - Martha doesn't weigh her ingredients for baking? Hard to believe!
*****Came back at the end of the video to observe that she never demonstrated how to actually braid the dough.
Terrible recipe! Proportion are WAAAAAYY off!! Not cool!
