- This Timelapse took me about 50-hours of designing, recording and editing. It was played on a custom map: "You Gnaw It", link below.
I used a custom difficulty to make the Beavers less hungry and thirsty and had droughts be farther in between to speed up the progression of the build.
Link to the save file is available on my Discord server in the Timberborn #resources channel.

We have a new Folk Tails timelapse video available as well, check it out: czcams.com/video/BLb8Ytt-F88/video.html
Very impressive. I was going to make a stupid comment like "Dam!". But this is praise worthy. Well done.
Great video. Keep up the good work.
Dam!
I gotta say, I am in love with the pyramid of houses you made on either side of the dam near the end. It just looks so efficient!
Thank you. It was loosely based on what I did on stream for the Folk Tails beautification session: czcams.com/video/a3xtRW4BnOs/video.html
-This guy starts the game
-Drought season: Something terrible is approaching
why do i hear boss music?
This is straight up the most impressive thing I've ever watched. The kingdom would be a fertile ground for stories
Impressive! VIllage design looks natural as well.
Absolutely beautiful!
That looks spectacular. I love the symmetry and the scale of the project, an engineering masterpiece.
WOW this is amazing good job mate i hope that you will continue with more timelapses like this one.
btw i can't enter your Dicord, i think the link is broken.
That's the plan for sure!
hmm, I think discord might be having some issues then, its a link that never expires. I just generated a new one and that gives the same issue.
Nice video. I really like your choice for the music. Just a beautiful video!
Thank you, the music is from the game soundtrack =]
@@Barthak rly? I never noticed this while playing. Bruh.
This is already over just "game ", this is an ART!! 😮😮
simply excellent, in form and function.
You re on a different level bro ! Amazing job !
Amazing build!
great effort mate! i really enjoyed
thank you very much!
This is gorgeous 😻 I love that you were able to do this while maintaining a stable district to keep it going.
now this is how a real engineer would play timberborn
These builds are amazing! It's really neat to see some things I don't recognize from early versions.
Wow, great effort.. keep your content man!
seulement en 50 heures, très impressionnant
It was on a Custom difficulty, so that makes it a lot easier to accomplish
Wonderful and inspiring! Subscribed and liked!
Congrats, you created the Netherlands.
As a Dutch person, that seems fitting =]
this is way too good. im subbing
What an amazing build! Huge source of inspiration for my currently spacially inefficient and certainly much less neat town that I’m building.
Thank you! The most important part is to have fun =]
Wow. Somebody decided to do a thing I was actually dreaming of doing, incorporating a town into a dam...and then ascended by consuming a cocktail of 5 Hour Energy, Redbull, Adderall, and crack. I am humbled.
Great work! 👍🏾😎
Dang that is A LOT of water.. makes me want to drain it then watch it slowly fill up all the way
I'd actually watch a video in real time of it filling up from empty. Awesome build and design/layout.
Legend says, if you delete a block at the base of the dam, the game crashes your computer and water starts flowing from it.
5:05 The water fall, falling upward
OK i get it, you're worried about the coming drought
Keep up the good work ❤
Bro chill, like you don't have to go this hard!
Deserves More Attation great work Man keep it up
Thank you!
Very impressive !
So satisfying and beautiful timelapse, but i wanted to see great flood at the end
Haha, fair enough, the save game is available on my Discord server, feel free to create your own great flood with it =]
Beautiful
Halfway through, the music is oddly fitting. Ominous, inspiring, peaceful, tedious, I don't know the right words, but it seems to encapsulate the feel of this massive, overly ambitious project that distroies and replaces it's surroundings.
No more is the land naturally beautiful. It is semetric, ridged, clean, and mechanically perfect.
I do these nonsensical rants at night a lot. Good night.
I'm just curled in the corner, brain melted from thinking the water flows backwards, mumbling "that's not a dam"
Haha, due to the animation recycling of waterflow in the game, while playing the footage at a certain speed the stroboscopic effect kicks in =] I hope you were able to get out of the corner!
very beautiful. congratulation from france ;)
The complexity is making my brain hurts
LA CUUUUVE !!!
Very nice
I imagine it must have looked something similar when they built the black gate of Mordor
Amazing
Awesome!!!
OK, now I know what I'm going to do next week
UNDERATED also FIRE 🔥🔥🔥🔥
amazing
Wow!
You know, those beavers live in section 8 that was built as a brace for the wall. Like imagine your apartment block holds back 50000000 gallons of water
insane
dam! beavers caused mamooth extinction by flooding tundras!
How were you building up the land? Never seen the option to place dirt down before
This is done on the experimental version of the game, they added Golems and Excavators for the purpose of placing dirt. Hopefully these features will soon be made available on the standard branch of the game.
If you want to try them out, you can switch to the Experimental version on the Beta tab on your Steam game properties.
@@Barthak thanks!!
Wow ! GG !
Wow, impressive.
GLOIRE A LA CUVE !!!!!
soooo cooool
dudes gotta be an engineer, that housing stack you did on both sides was so symmetrical it blew my mind, you amaze me
Haha, I'm a software engineer, so a tad different. Thank you for the praise tho!
Someone should notify Real Civil Engineer
@@cocodojodo you mean real civil architect?
@@ytvelozity to the shaming wheel with you! "Shame! Shame! Shame! shame!"
@@cocodojo lmao xD
ill be Dam'ned, this is a Dam' impressive build
jokes aside, i can def see this whole village/town in a Ghibli movie
真是让人肝疼的大制作。😁😁😁
nice
미쳤네 그냥 와 ~
What happend to the beavers living on the other side of the wall?
They migrated to the main city before the Great Flood
holy dam
Is that landfill stuff a mod or vanilla ?
Excavators and the terraforming stations are part of the vanilla game, but currently only available on the Experimental version. You can switch to experimental in the game's beta tab on Steam.
@@Barthak aah interesting, I haven't played since the sunflower update ^^
"50 HoUr bUiLd" pff... showoff. I'd never have enough patience to do that lol thats why i'm here!
How did you fill the backside of the dam? Did you wall off the world and it filled naturally?
Yeah, all the sides of the map were walled off with levees. You can see some of it in the Design Walkthrough video: czcams.com/video/_MuoWgINaQs/video.html
wait, where did all the water behind the dam come from at the end? is that a mod?
Every map has water sources, if you close of the borders of the map, it will slowly fill up the map. (in hard mode this wont work, as the droughts evaporate the water faster than it can fill up during temperate seasons). Check out the save file if you are curious =]
How do you make a timelapse while also building in Timberborn?
Basically with this pattern:
1. Wait for stockpiles of construction resources to be (re)filled (log piles & warehouses).
2. Design & place down the next part of the build; unpause previously paused construction work.
3. Pick a camera position for recording
4. Hide the GUI (CTRL+H)
5. Record for 4-6 minutes or until resources are depleted (whichever comes first)
6. Pause any incomplete construction
7. Return to step 1.
In post, I speed up every clip and combine them + putting music in it.
droughts arent even a thing with this many water xD
9:45 Are those drills?
They are excavators, to claim dirt so we can terraform, it was added on the Experimental version of the game: store.steampowered.com/news/app/1062090/view/3407555623451254263
amazing build, love it love it, it saddens me though as the new "Badtide" update will ruin this masterpiece :,(
now thats i call a lot of wood
Can we play on this map? looks so good
so pretty
It like attack on titan but with beavers
if the water level drops to the height of one lock, will it stop flowing into the city?
I tried to do something similar and ran into this problem
yeah so, the triple floodgates on the top are set to a 2.5 height, if the water level drops more than 2.5 blocks, there indeed will be no water flowing into the city. Builds like this will not work on hardmode and on normal mode they can be difficult depending on the strength of the water sources in order to catch up during temperate season. I played this on a custom difficulty tho, so that problem doesn't really happen here. Its more of a showcase build than a survival challenge =]
It would've been better if there was drought season.
There are a few droughts that you can see throughout the timelapse. However, as the description states, this was done on a custom difficulty so they were shorter and farther in between; this video was about the build and not about the survival part of the game =]
when i see this i wich i was a beaver and lived there
you are more than welcome to come live there ;)
Impressive build, but can you tell me the name of the map pls?
The name is "You Gnaw It", the link to the map is in the description of the video as well =]
THe water texture move backward ahhahah
Ok, but where da lidos, mud baths, etc?
The lidos are at the t-junction of the waterwheels =] Mudbaths are the only form of leisure that is not added to the build.
f*ck, bro, you're so confused respect you.
Well they aint gonna run out of water lol
😮😮😮😮
Attack on Titan's Wall 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Hoooow did this only take 50 hours??
The biggest reason it didn't take longer is because of the custom difficulty, so less long droughts help a lot.
la cuve est satisfaite
I hope you like this notification and the sub too
draught? whats that?
What was the starting map ?
The map is called: "You Gnaw It", link is in the description of the video.
That night cycle is kinda.... short
I assume you mean the drought-cycle? Yeah, this was on a custom difficulty =]
On super easy , no drought mode?. Or the equivalent of creative in Minecraft?.
Custom difficulty, long temperate seasons and short droughts as this was more about the build and not so much about the survival part. You can see a few droughts happening throughout the timelapse (and sequential floodings that come after) =]
@@Barthak Still very cool. 8D
lol
i feel like an idiot
О_О
классно. но смена дня и ночи в таком видео жутко раздражает.
Don't know how you can look longer than one minute. Day/night cycle is really hard to watch. Someone should do mod for youtuber
Yeah I am hoping they just add a toggle in the game for turning off the visual effects of Day/Night cycle.
