Great simple explanation of how the KIPS works. I had a KR1S and although I knew what it did, I didn't know the mechanics behind it all. Thanks for the info.

Nice job, thank you. As a moto guy I never liked how the Kawi’s turned, so I had everything but. Now I’m old, I can still ride I’m in shape but realized since I no longer live on the east coast,( Kodiak Alaska ) I need a much different bike. It’s mountainous here, needing a much lower seat height compared to motocross I remembered and found a prestige 94 KDX200. Thanks for the insight

i picked up an 03 kdx 200. its all stock. i had a power issue and thought it was a bit rich. i went to a 45 pilot and 155 main. it seems healthier has surprising low down grunt. however i dont seem to have much of a powerband. first time ive ridden a kdx200 but i feel like it should be making more power. my wifes kx100 would eat this thing for breakfast. do they just naturally have very smoothe power with not much on top? or could i possibly have a kips valve issue? bike runs really smoothe its a low hour bike for sure it hasnt seen much riding.

The next time we tried to start it, it wouldnt start. I bought a new carb installed it got it started. Did the carb adjustments. Revs perfectly. Revs high and crisp.
