I talked to you the other day about the fork seals. Just got in my jug base nuts, two right hand side studs and dowel pins (PO had the nuts all rounded off and I ended up having to cut them off with a Dremel) but anyways I got my replacement parts and a brand new oem cylinder, weisco piston kit and I’m about to attempt my first top end rebuild tomorrow. Thank God for your kx100 content or I would have had a hard time finding out proper info on how to work on this thing without actually finding an owners manual somewhere. Not only that but reading something and seeing someone do something are two different things. Thank you again sir!

I couldn't see the dowel pins you mentioned when sliding cylinder over piston? Great video and appreciate it.
** Ok I see what you meant. The studs have a wider base and serve as a dowel.

Thanks, I enjoyed watching the video. I have a question, when should I move to a larger piston, and is there any work I can do about increasing the cylinder gap? I have a Kawasaki KX100 2013 bike. The piston gap now is 52.52 mm, and the service limits are 52.60, since I rebuilt it. piston and piston ring stand, and the pressure was 75 psi, and it is supposed to be between 119-180 psi, i.e. directives in this matter to gain high pressure in the engine

Awsome thanks and good to hear back thanks again. so I have another question for you recently just did a top and rebuild on my son‘s bike, but the carburetter on the bike was replaced, not by me but the previous owner. I’ve done some research on the carb it is a pwk but it says on the information that I’ve read it has the 132 main jet in there instead of the 135 and my air screw is one and a half turns from seated just did not want the bike to be running too lean, while I do the break in procedure, it’s already had a couple heat cycles put through and was doing some research and I came across that so I’m not quite too sure what the main jet sizes I will know tomorrow once I take it apart, but was just wondering what you thought I’m currently running 24 to 1 for the break in

Would you not recommend going straight to a track after doing a kx65 top end? On the heat cycle. My daughter is still a noob but they do splits on the main tack for the kids which requires her to ride it a little harder. Their are times when she’s over riding a gear but the there or times she’s on point with her shifting. Or Should I do a heat cycle by ridding the bike through the gears at 1/4 throttle then at half throttle then open it up as much as I can before she hits the track?

I think I could rebuild all 4 of my 2 strokes for the cost of a proper yz450f top end rebuild. I trust a 2 stroke more for longer intervals between top ends.
