    Property taxes have trip[ed in San Antonio in about 5 years. They say there has not been a property tax increase in 7 years. So how is it happening? They simply have been raising the property values exponentially to increase the taxes. And wasting the taxes with frivolous and unnecessary projects.

    • @happyzahn8031
      @happyzahn8031 Před měsícem +1

      Exactly. Also, they have changed the actual year the house was built to an 'equivalent' year (a recent year) so they can jack up the 'equivalent' price of the house. It doesn't matter what your house is really worth, they just put their own number down on the paper and you end up paying on that. (yes, i know about protesting, and the board, and equivalent sales, etc. but that is a one-size-fits-all that they use to jack up 'alleged' home prices).

    This construction on highways at I35 & 1604 suck. Sooo many people moving here! Thanks to all these subdivisions popping up everywhere. You barely see a nice field of grass or native trees anymore. Coming soon! Opening soon signs all around. I’ve lived here all my life and Live Oak to New Braunfels can be bumper to bumper. Used to drive fast on the highway to dry my truck off after a wash; forget it now. 5 miles an hour won’t do it lol, guess I’ll sweat my you know what off in the driveway. But, once these overpasses and elevated roads are done; who knows when, it’ll be great! I hope 🤞🏽! Love where I live though and recommend SA or surrounding areas.

This means I can go to SA and stay for a month for about the same as a month in Los Angeles County without committing to an apartment lease. For a single person with median level income renting might be chepaer than buying.

    I don't agree with a lot of what he is saying. He must be a realtor because he's leaving a few things out to make San Antonio better then it really is in the city and out.

      If you aren't coming here merely to retire with a partner already then San Antonio is a horrible place to move to.
      Industry is very limited here, not many career fields you can find a job in.
      The lack of career jobs pushes many to leave San Antonio thus the dating scenes is horrible.
      The weather is horrible in the summer cause of course San Antonio is in Texas.
      The traffic could be worse, but is actually horrible considering San Antonio is only really worth retiring in.
      What little fun and things to do we have such as theme parks, etc, etc get boring and old fast considering that's basically the only thing to do in San Antonio.
      Downtown San Antonio is like the only thing to go and see and most of it is just places to go eat at. However the places to eat at are horrible due to the restaurants just being merely tourist traps.
      The only kind of food you'll probably ever find in San Antonio really is just tex mex.
      Etc etc, don't come to San Antonio, infact while Texas isn't really bad, I'd say don't come to Texas.
      The only people who think Texas is any good are those who care about moving to good cheap place to live more than moving to a place where there are things you can do.

      He is leaving the job market out. Better to move outside of Dallas or Houston if you like fun and career. You can move in areas without flooding or tornadoes but close to those major cities to drive for work. San Antonio is a great place to visit but after a few activities, you will be bored for the long term and definitely don’t become unemployed in San Antonio. Longer time looking for a job.

      @@michael2263 I disagree. I moved from MD to Katy tx and Texas has wayyyyy more to do. Events come and go regularly. In MD once you hike a few trials, travel to surrounding cities, you will be out of activities within a year or 2. Little events come to MD to keep the fun going.

      I disagree about Houston. The suburbs surrounding Houston are wayyyyy better than the areas around San Antonio. At least you have jobs in Houston. Don’t become unemployed in San Antonio or you will be homeless fast.
